Wood turned (Christmas) Segmented Ornament with SpectraPly and Blood wood

- The ornament has 13 rings in the vessel. It is Quite long - 21" tall. Not something you can hang on a tree. I made it for fun while waiting on my wood to come in for my next project.

I love the colors. the intricacy of all the sections is mind blowing. Your attention to such tiny details is proof of how each of us sees something different in the wood we turn. I am no where near the stage of complexity that you have mastered. You are fearless with your turning. It really is something quite fascinating to look at!

~ I've always enjoyed art and believe that details no matter how small do matter. In fact, I've discovered recently that even sanding (which is detailing) matters.
~ I would say that one of the main reasons I am at this "stage" is because I've wood turned (literally) almost every single day for almost 2 years now. One does not have to be artistic (although I think it helps) to reach higher levels of wood turning. Some of the primary factors are learning to hold the tools for the cutting you want to achieve. Bonnie, I still have MUCH to learn and I'm humbled that you think highly of my wood turning and art. I'm Sooo happy you come here! Thank you Bonnie! You're sucha blessing..

~ Yes the colors are so flamboyant and that blood wood is I'd say the color of a dark shade of red wine. I was gonna put a small piece of blood wood on the end for the pointy tip. But I didn't wanna mess with the colors flowing

😮 Outstanding ! I love when you "scold" yourself for ....what you think ...are imperfections . To me? The areas you showed us that were to you "not paying attention"? Well...guess what . They are NOT .. every area you pointed out blended perfectly on the Ornament. Linda ? You don't see?Those areas actually MAKE no no...FORCE... the observer of your Art piece to focus on it , not just look at the Repeated pattern but in actuality... TO STUDY THE PIECE ! Maybe... WITHOUT... the observer even knowing that .
If these are "mistakes" in your mind . They are the BEST MISTAKES you could of EVER MADE on this pattern ! You ! Linda made it OUTSTANDING by doing these..."so called" 😂Oops-ii 😂 you truly made this a ONE OF A KIND.
