exactly to your point: it's wild for me to think of you struggling with perfectionism because your work seems so clean, polished, and effortless! also good for you to know that some people don't notice the imperfections that you do, or don't consider them negative!
Try to be, some stuff doesn't see the light of day. mainly because i make it for myself so i have fun with sounds. but there is always the thought of this should be content for the machine.
Awesome vid! I've completed two years of Weekly Beats and I agree with pretty much everything here, especially the idea that you should always try to do something new each week. I haven't heard of the 70% rule I think I'm going to try that. I tend to lose interest in things really quickly so I think if I can get 70% of the song finished in one session (breaks included) then I can chill and let it brew in my head and get it to that 90 to 95% range (I never feel like I'm 100% done, just as close as I want to get, haha). ALSO, I'm going to buy one of those Timer Time clocks. I like to utilize the pomodoro technique when focusing on work but I've only had a timer on my phone and I'd like to keep my phone away from me to reduce distractions so that clock looks perfect.
Cheers buddy, do like making a non distracting space and use that timer to challenge myself in short bursts. I feel when people had to reverse the tape they had lots of micro breaks. so there is no harm making artificial ones to improve the quality of the music.
I mostly post my tracks as videos here if you would like to watch them. trying to find the best way to distribute music because Spotify. mostly albums goto band camp. With weekly beats I have an idea to do some live plays
What kinda platform would you recommend to promote myself as an artist? Have any experience with SoundCloud or Bandcamp? I’m considering getting into both
I filled up my sound cloud a while ago making chiptunes, do like band camp too. I feel the modern artist has to keep multiple platforms to get the word out. for me most of my music I make into video content for here.
Great tips for weekly music!
Glad you think so
Can't wait to hear your music this year, welcome back!!!
same to you :)
super helpful recommendations, thank you! especially helpful to think about template and trying a new think each week, not all at once.

helpful advice there, thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Probably I should be working on a WeeklyBeat rather than watching this... great vid.
Thank you, now get that song in
love it, all of us who have done WB understand, great suggestions. 👍

Where can I hear your music, and how can I better support your work?

btw whats the hotkey you used at 3:17 to change the notes position in the grid?
Insert and backspace :). Really handy to bump things around.
