I attended a tertiary 3d animation (college, uni?) in 2009-2010, and on day one, a quiet middle aged Japanese lady in my class casually stated that she used to work at Capcom. Turns out she was the wife of the owner/founder of ARIKA, who is 1/2 the original duo behind SFII. I was playing EX2+ on emulator one day and she pointed to the screen (Sharon) "I did the first draft and concept for this character!" sure enough her name is in the credits. She even tapped me on the shoulder while I was playing MVC1 with a classmate at the nearby arcade, to introduce me to her husband who had come to NZ to spend time with her (Akira Nishitani) I had no idea who he was at the time. She ended up following her dream of working at WETA and has since returned to JAPAN. Lost touch as I was a moronic child but, but I still have the collectors glass she brought me back from the Evangelion store!

Damn I need to play Breath of Fire 3 again… I had a huge nostalgic emotional moment during its section. I played through the game with my mom originally and have tons of good memories of that time.

Final Fight Revenge was built on the ST-V arcade hardware which is almost identical to a Sega Saturn, so that's why they didn't port it over.

Capcom were beasts during the Ps1/Ps2 Era.
They are still really good, just a little sad that it it mostly safe bets like Resi, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter. Even if i really like those aswell (Come on Capcom, new Breath of Fire!!)
Resident Evil 1 scarred me as a child. Had never heard about it and i used to like watching my brother play videogames.
Then that first Zombie scene popped up. Took me a long time to go back and watch him play again.

I had noticed it ever since your Psygnosis video, but given this video has the most games I'm familiar with, I really appreciate the way you approach bad games in these long-form videos. No increased sense of vitriol that would make those games stick out in a bad way, instead they are just as organically presented as the better titles.
Hell, it's already impressive that this is a 6 and a half hour video, and yet never once I got a sense of you getting sick of the project at some point, so you'd rush over games that you'd think most people wouldn't know enough of, or would generally dislike enough to not mind the rushing. You really found your niche with this video series, and just like so far, I'll be curious to see which company you'll tackle next.

For your point at the end, I absolutely think we’re gonna get a 3D fighting collection sooner than later. They listed the new Marvel vs Capcom collection as part of a Fighting Collection series, and since they’ve already made Street Fighter, CPS-2 and MVC ones, Capcom vs SNK and a Naomi collection are the next logical entries.

Phew, so I "finally" made it. This is such a fun and informative video! Loved every second of it.
Now I have to admit that Capcom PS1 game collection is ridiculously small, only having X2 (which probably doesn't count, as it is the PAL version), Darkstalkers 3 and Breath of Fire IV (which, as I wrote on Twitter, bought for the intro) and BoF IV is by far my fav PS1 game of my, eh, relatively small PS1 games collection.
You became even more likeable for saying the Dreamcast is your favourite console *and* for giving the NGPC a shoutout (one of my fav handhelds, although I wish games wouldn't be so hard to get and not so expensive).
Heh, I also learned about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure because of that fighting game by Capcom.
When I first time saw One Piece Mansion (not in this video) I also thought it is a One Piece game.

As a huge Capcom fan the final few minutes of your video resonates with me so much. They are big part of my life and their games is what made me fall in love with so many genres. The moment I saw a Capcom logo I knew it was gonna be good. The Dreamcast era especially being so special to cause as you said them and Sega felt like they were in sync. So many IP's were born in those few short years. I'm glad to see someone who loves their games as much if not more than me. This was an amazing video thanks for all your hard work.
I also hope we get that 3D Collection. Power Stone, Rival School's and Tech Romancer need to be know to much more people!

Hi Sean! Love the video. Quick Newcastle-in-Playstation-racing-games fact check: the Toon is also in Driver as a hidden area because Reflections are Geordies. It's a a bit small and shite but you can drive past my favourite pub so that's nice.

Small aside - there was a Buster Bros clone called E-Gon Adventures, that I used to play on my old Windows XP family PC.
Those MIDI bops and the chao looking character's "defeat" are still burnt in my brain.

Generic Irish Playstation Man once again proving he's a god among men with another PS1 marathon. Good stuff.
Thank you for the correct Megaman Legends hype. Still my favorite game series of all time. I was devastated when 3 was cancelled. It literally kept me from buying a 3ds and Capcom games for a while.
Also, there has never been any official statements to my knowledge, but the Legends series is most likely permanently dead in the water. Multiple people involved in the games were... Not good people. The lead character artist made lewd images of some of the characters, Tiesel's American VA was in prison for a similar crime before his passing, plus the second game itself somehow sunk in the naked butt of a "1000 year old robot" character, both games you "walk in" on roll, the socond one even has a whole scene where Tron is naked off camera from a mech explosion.
Lots of off people involved on the Legends series, and It's a damned shame too. I've even been wanting a lightly censored/reworked version of 2 myself, to make it less horny, lmao. We already got some of that censorship, alongside the ability to shoot and harm every animal in every japanese version.
I've been waiting for a Megaman Legends collection for a while, and I'm convinced it's just not gonna happen. We even got X7 and X8 in modern day x collections, so it can't be emulation issues, and it was reasonably easy to convert to an N64 game, so ports can't be too impossible.
Maybe one day we might get some really good fan projects, especially with the Legends art style popping off lately with artists and creators. I quit holding my breath for anything else years back.
