- Much respect for this dude. Played through a torn hamstring. Was a mentor to Carson all season long. His playoff debut at age 40 was a story in itself, but his gutsy effort is of folklore proportions.
I knew this game took a toll on him physically, but I didn't realize how much this loss meant to him emotionally. To see him lay it all out on the line like he did, I will forever be a Josh McCown fan. - Sport
This shit touched me. A man's last go at glory and he fell just short... Josh wanted that W bad. It would have been a hell of a story. You didn't fail the team Josh. Everyone in the city is very proud of you.
100% agree
It would’ve been a great story but the Wentz hecklers would’ve had a field day.
Wasn't good enough? Dude you played with a torn hamstring. You're a champion in my book! 💯
You weren’t good enough Josh? For a 40 year old you brought me so much joy watching you play! You were a warrior on that day!
I just wanna reach through the screen and tell him it's okay
And give him a Cachuchaso while ur @ it
18 starters injured.
18 in place of 11.
Hell of a first playoff game, Josh.
Most of our starters couldn’t even finish the game
Proud of him
If you don't have teary eyes after watching this you need to get a Soul Check.
This scene absolutely crushed me
I really want to cry, but my mind is telling me I have cried too many time.
As a Vikings fan we happy as f*ck
@@dawitberhanu4410 Being a Vikings fan what could you Possibly be happy about lol. Memba that ass whooping in the NFC Championship game? That was glorious
Daz Dealz you only score 9 we already got our revenge on the eagles
I have mad respect for him. He gave it everything he had out there. And with a torn hamstring he still nearly pulled it off. He didn't disappoint me or any other Eagle fan.
it sucks but its really how athletes should act at the highest level. i think its inspiring to see how hard josh took this. it shows you how driven he is and how much he cares about his team. if the lows weren't taken this low then the highs wouldnt be as sweet
Beautifully said 👍
Man played with a torn hamstring and balled his heart out ❤️ always got respect for McCown for that
I like Josh he is a great player, at least he didn't give up, that's what we need in football
Josh is from my high school man and I am Soo happy for him being able to play his first playoff. I see his picture on the wall of our field house every morning. It’s just a good feeling knowing we were able to watch a Jacksonville Indian in a nfl playoff
wow. look at all those people waiting for him. he takes one more step forward and the crowd sees him, but he breaks down in defeat just before anyone witness.
something about josh mccown, grown-ass man, saying he wasn't good enough that gives me motivation to overcome my own imposter syndrome. I often feel I don't belong in my field of studies. I always feel like I'm holding my team back. But if this guy who plays professional freaking football feels he's not good enough, it tells me I'm not alone, and that those feelings happen at all levels. It tells me I don't need to make the big time to overcome my imposter syndrome, since I will feel it there too. It tells me there's more to loving yourself than only loving the benefits of being you.
As a Seattle fan, I know this man did not fail. He went into a game no one thought he was gonna need to be in. He balled put, kept the Eagles in contention till the end. I respect Josh McCown forever
There's not a single fan in Philly who had anything negative to say about Josh that night. I'm a Steeler fan in Philly. What a warrior, fighting until the very end, even with a torn hamstring. What glory and valor. Earning the love and respect of Philly fans is something very few have done, and he did it in spades.
The city of Philadelphia appreciates men like this. After watching your team come up just short of a championship for so many years, you learn to appreciate the fight more than the outcome. The toughness, the grit, the underdog spirit that forces broken men back to their feet, ready for more punishment. Carson Wentz throwing his 33rd TD pass of the season - setting the franchise record for TD passes in what would be his last play of the season - with a torn ACL... that's what we love about sports. And few moments in Eagles history represent that spirit better than Josh McCown leaving it all on the field in his first playoff game, at 40 something years old, in his 17th season, with a torn hamstring.
Be proud of that performance Josh. The city you did it all for certainly is.
I'm a Patriots fan and I watched this whole season just to see this moment and it was so much better than I could've wished for. Incredible job by NFL Films
I remember this game like it was yesterday. I cried like a baby😔 he did his best. So much respect for him💚
JOSH MCCOWN HAS ALWAYS BEEN SUCH A GREAT GUY!!!!!! AN SUCH AN UNDERATED QUARTERBACK!!!!!!!!!!
This man really said he let his team down when he played with his hamstring torn off the bone what a baller
There is one thing just as good as winning: losing with honor, guts, and sheer glory. No shame in leaving your blood and tears on the field of battle like a true hero. You're a legend, Josh, and more of a winner than most.
Love you Josh. The first jersey my dad ever bought for me when we were going to Cardinals games back in the day was yours. Gotta find it!
Josh played like a damn warrior in that game. I’m proud of him and makes me wish he could’ve been here a lot longer.
We want him back! At the very least as a coach
He back!
@@Xplayer007 I'm seeing him as a coach in training. There's a reason why he on the practice quad
wish we had mccown for more than a year, meaning signed years prior... he has that philly heart.
The New Panthers QB Coach
Welcome the your new Journey Josh!
Keep Pounding
As a Redskins fan seeing this made me cry 18 year journeyman QB first playoff appearance and they were so close to winning I was actually rooting for them to win just for Josh McCown.
He played that game with a torn hamstring. Philadelphia will never forget that.
Damn as a Bronco fan this is sad I hope Josh can have a comeback season
What a man. Just a good man. God bless him
Been a fan of McCown for years. What a gutsy performance
I'm here to point out he TORE THE HAMSTRING FROM HIS BONE in the 2nd quarter of play.
He played far more than well enough, you're remembered Josh
josh is the man dude got some great highlights
We love you josh! You'll always be remembered as a warrior to us! And your always welcome to the nest. You did your absolute best with the situation and made the most of the opportunity
I was watching the game. That feeling that you left it all out there in the field, but your best weren’t good enough. 😞
Philly stand up!
Even though we lost the playoffs that night, I wasn't even slightly mad about it. I just couldn't be after seeing McCown's reaction and how hard he and everyone else played. The team (especially McCown) did everything they were physically capable of doing. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to win, however it was enough to make me damn proud to be an Eagles fan. For me, effort goes a long way. Doing your best to win even though it might not be enough. There is absolutely no shame in that. Keep your chin up, McCown. You earned the respect of an entire city.
Sam Houston State alumni.. we are proud of you man.
Josh Mccown probably has more heart that 1/2 the teams in the league put together
I miss you Malcolm Jenkins. 😭😭😭 l love you #27 😭🦅 come back and retire here once you’ve called it a career.
Love from Germany
Keep ur head up bud,,we love you, Go EAGLES
King's Back!!!
That's heart shame it's in such short supply in this league
He really cares about his team
How did you record this? Asking because people I know are in the credits doing the eagles chant!
Ps this scene made me cry. #flyeaglesfly thank you Josh
Zach ertz is a great teammate
Eagles legend
Omg this is so sad
1:12 thats how makes the Eagles special, picking up their comrades when theyre down
Oh wow. That thumbnail is real.
Only if Wentz had the same emotion as this guy, we would have multiple championships
thats crazy that we almost had the game
0:57 sick cleats
I am hawks fan but he play pretty good for his first time and there was injury s on his he did good
I feel so bad
It was his last chance at making history for his name, after all the years of struggle and disappointment he got one more try for reaching glory. He knew that ,and even though he gave it his all, it wasn't enough. He wasn't able to obtain the most important chance at glory of his career. After the game ends he knows that was the last shot, it could've been a fairy tale ending to his hard 18 year journey in the NFL. So in his last moments as a player, he let all of his retained emotions out, he knew that the last job he had been given was possible, but he just didn't do enough to get it, and just like that it was all over. It was time to move on, and say goodbye to his long journey in the NFL.
We were so close but it just wasn’t enough
nice video like👍🤝💐💐
Damn I was on the fence about the Texans hiring him as the head coach but now I'm hoping they do.

That’s how we felt losing to y’all 38 - 7 thank you Seahawks you made Vikings fan feel so good
That is what wentz shouldve done every game this yr and we woulda felt for him but his refusing to change has made him gorribly unplayable unless ya name is frank reich
This is my teachers cousin
Am I the only one who believes he's going to the HOF
Yes
Imagine if the Eagles were not so cheap and franchised tagged Foles and told Carson he'd have to wait another year to see if he was
worthy of the big contract. Foles would have won them this game. But the Eagles couldn't wait to run Foles out of town because being on the sideline was upsetting Carson who has yet to win a playoff game in four years, injured in three of his first four years in the NFL and will never win a playoff game in his career let alone winning a Super Bowl.
He tried
Why tf would someone record somebody crying that’s disrespectful
Fly eagles fly more like cry eagles cry
Aw. Let him go cry home to his millions he makes as a backup. Sure, they are people just like us but they play a game as a profession.
Man played with a torn hamstring and balled his heart out ❤️ always got respect for McCown for that
