Also, the place he falls from you can actually jump off of yourself too. It leaves the entire party at 1 HP, but Dante is unharmed if he's in your party.

In fairness the attack has an incredibly high critical hit rate. In Hard Mode it's practically 100% when you're fighting him.

well, I've heard that Atlus and Capcom had an exchange. Atlus' Kazuma Kaneko designed Dante and Vergil Demon Forms from DMC3, so Capcom allowed Atus to use Dante as a guest in SMT3 later version.
again, backward. Nocturne came out before DMC 3. Atlus asked to use Dante in exchange to help design capcom's DMC 3 devil triggers. After that, hearing that capcom doesn't allow the use of Dante in any other non capcom game as a guest.

You know this was a trade off. The guy who designs Demons in SMT designed both Dante's and Vergil's Devil Trigger in DMC3. Like, take a look at the SMT Digital Devil Demon forms, and put Dante and Vergil's DT's beside them....they fit perfectly.

That first fight was really easy. You can just hit him with a debuff and he wastes one of two turns healing it every time.
Later on though he challenges you to a game of tag, but with pistols. And if he catches you he Stingers one of your guys with a high chance of insta-kill.
Really easy... Not exactly for everyone, i remember fighting him in full kagutsuchi because of the skill who active crits, and even with this, ouch.

To be fair on Dante, the Demifiend is arguably the strongest character in the series. So to go relatively even on the Demifiend, Dante is pretty up there.
They should include Demi-Fiend as an optional boss in Persona games so people know the pain we endured in SMT Digital Devil Saga 1...

Funny thing is they did this for the Western version only, the Japanese version had Raidou Kuzuhona from the Devil Summoner series, until Lucifer's Call Director's Cut ( Japanese name of Nocturne) came out later.

There are three versions of SMT3. The default version did not have Dante or Raidou, and there was no Fiend subplot and thus no True Demon ending. The second version added Dante and the Fiend subplot. This is the only version released outside Japan. This was part of a deal where they character designer for the SMT series designed Dante's devil trigger form in DMC3. The 3rd version replaced Dante with Raidou and was a bonus released with Devil Summoner 2 in Japan only.
