"That cheese in your pizza, it's SUPPOSED to be there" -NY Times
As a Canadian, this article feels like its 15 years late.
Exotic though? Next thing will be:
Eating food with two sticks. It's tricky but amazing.
Seasoning food? It's awesome! Where have this trend been?
We're talking someone who was also bamboozled by Starbucks. Expectations were already low.
How is bubble tea an new trend in america? It's been an trend in America since the early 2000's. Or did the CEO of the new york times finally had his first bubble tea?
leyuen maybe where you live. but its trending big right now. went from having never heard of it, to hearing about it daily
Wow....😍bubble tea ❤️♥️😍
New York Times is absolutely stupid😂
Boba is life 😂
i first had bubble tea 6 years ago in berlin of all places, a friend introduced me and ive loved it ever since, when i got back to london after that trip i sought out the bubble tea places and have had it alot since!
-_- i didn't know what bubble tea was until he showed a pic of boba. WEST COAST BEST COAST
Jerry Xu 😂😂😂
I guess they call it " the old gray lady" for a reason....
Great video
Okay I'll admit I've only been drinking Bubble Tea about 3 years (because nowhere near me had it... Now I'm glad the Pho place at the farmer's market carries it. Just wish they had more flavors than Taro, strawberry, and melon. Though to be honest they were trying to bring in more younger patrons and trying fruity flavors that kids would like. But would love to try it with actual tea. (though I do love me some Taro boba!)
I discovered bubble tea a few years ago from one of your videos (so thanks so much, Mikey!). It sounded amazing and considering where I live, I thought I'd never get any. Well, fast forward a few months, I discover there's a bubble tea place a few towns over, and I was hooked after trying them. They need to be more popular.
It is true that many "normal" things can seem strange if you're not used to it! When I first came to Asia, I had never seen those plastic lids that you have to poke the straw through. That kind of blew my mind (in fact, my friend did it for me the first time). I also had no clue how to eat soup noodles. So I would legit sneakily watch other diners to see what they were doing (clue: using a spoon is important).
It goes the other way too. Recently I went to an American restaurant with a friend, and we ordered nachos. But he didn't really know how to eat them. He wanted to use a fork but of course you can't really do that with tortilla chips. I told him to just use his hands, but he really didn't like getting the cheese and stuff on his fingers. He ate it in the end but kept cringing. :)
I learned about bubble tea when i was about 7 from watching "Yan Can Cook" on public broadcasting...I am now 28.....bubble tea is so NEW!
Ashley Bergstrom Martin Yan is hands down the greatest male cooking influence in my life. I used to watch him and Julia Child with my grandma. Those three thought me to cook.
I grew up drinking bubble tea. My mom's friend used to own a bubble tea shop so yeah. Btw, BEST bubble hands down ever made. I was so sad that she sold her shop ;_; If she reopened again, I will apply to work there 😂😂
You said the article said the Bubble Tea was spread through the Far East. And then wondered who would call it that. But when you flashed the article it didn't say Far East. It said throughout Asia, then the sentence below it said It has become increasingly available on the East and West Coast.... I think this was a case of words blurring and not old timey writing references.
hahahaha. They just need to learn about Asian Foods! Asian foods are harder and more expensive to get where I live but wow, They are the best! I tried bubble tea a year ago or so and it's amazing!
Dont pour these down your garbage disposal...trust me...they dont grind easily and are a pain to get out after realizing this.
12 to 15 years ago omg
Lol! Their utter ignorance!
Bubble tea
Isn't the NYT a biiiiit late? At least in Europe the great hype for Bubble Tea is long over and from the many stores there were are just a fracton left.
I had bubble tea once. The guy just placed a scoop of some flavoring and the tapioca balls in the cup with some water...I feel bad for not getting the authentic thing
Bubble tea is good
I want to try bubble tea, but I live in a small town in Sweden and I have no idea where I can get it. 😟
KaiPon Visp it's pretty simple to make at home if you can't find any around. All you need is some black tea, condensed milk, and some tapioca pearls
What the hell is Tapioca? I have never had bubble tea, I thought the blobs were plant seeds
uh Boba?
uh... Boba?
Lmao they are extremely uninformed, been on that drug for a long long time.
uhhhhhh Boba?
The camera is zoomed in too much to his face. He also needs a consistent background.
Two of your voices are talking at the same time I can't understand you. I can see the video now.
Ok, this is so stupid.
First again
Something is wrong with your video I can't watch it it is all black I can only hear your voice.
uhhhhhh Boba?
