The first clamp you used is called a worm gear clamp. They also have these clamps that have a sleeve around it so that it doesn't mess up your hoses. There are also T-bolt clamps that you can use. Both couplers are viable long term solutions, with the first type working best with sleeved clamps or T-bolt clamps.
Great video, showed me what I needed to know. Tractor Supply sells them for 5.00 a piece.

I use pex crimp rings instead of a hose clamp It works great
FYI -You are using way to much teflon tape it should be the 2 x 2 rule; leave the first two threads bare and 1 1/2 to 2 wraps in the direction you are tighting the fitting. The teflon is designed as a lubrcant not a sealant..

I am using less Teflon tape lately and usually use blue Loctite instead. It's easier and looks better. Quite often 1/4 inch NPT air fittings will seal without anything at all. On the other hand, I have had poorly machined NPT fittings that would only seal with a ridiculous amount of Teflon tape.

Thanks. I have a very similar setup, and the end of the hose on my reel became cracked and failed. Now I think I can just cut off a foot or two of the end, put on a new fitting, and be good to go again.

I stuck with problem.. Got pressure pot with AIR-MIC20M 1/4" coupler, but my air hose have german profile 3/8" coupling (maybe EC20H)
And air leak is insane.. I don't know what to do.. How I should fix issue..
Buy new hose from America and pray it fits with compressor coupler..
Somehow install American coupler in to compressor..
Get new air regulator and pray it fits pressure pot..
Or maybe try your method.., but question if I can use any coupler at 03:00
Regardless how big or small, worm gear clamps should not have hose protruding in the clamp. The barbs are to hold it on. The clamp is just a bit of pressure on barbs

My only concern is that the fitting that goes over the hose would leak some. Does it? And could a person use teflon tape around the hose end to help prevent it?
Those reuseable fittings look like a great thing to have in the field or in a shop, but might be a little pricey for home use. Check if your local auto parts store carries air hose ferrules and if they do the crimping. The ferrules are about a dollar and they'll usually crimp it on for you for free if you buy the ferrule. You can use the original barb that came on the hose so it'll only cost you a buck and a trip to the store.

Costs aside, hose barb ends with a properly crimped ferrule are safer and more secure. They're an industry standard in liquid, gas, and hydraulic applications and they can handle high pressures. It's the reason hoses come from the factory that way (again, regardless of cost). Those reusable fittings explicitly state "Recommended for low pressure air hose applications", which is absolutely fine for emergency field or personal/home use (up to 250 psi), but you're not paying extra for anything more than convenience.

Where can I get a hose socket like this?
I have a problem. I bought an air compressor on ebay. There is a broken-off connector inside the coupler on the compressor. When I try to remove the bad connector to install another one, the coupler won't screw off with even a long-handled wrench. How to get the coupler off without ruining the pipe to the compressor?
It worked for the most part, but now there's a very small leak coming from between my gun and the adapter. What would you recommend to seal that small gap?

I ordered this kit on Amazon and installed the first coupler. As I was screwing in the 2nd coupler, the outer part of the hose separated from the inner hose and it was like a clean cut at the bottom of the first coupler. What now? My hose it probably around 15 years old and seems a little brittle. Maybe I just need to replace my entire hose reel?

I got an estimate for a spring hand lever crimper about CDN$1100 plus about CDN$300 for every die set......
but it's something I will be using, as I have a lot of hoses to fix/repair

Less Teflon the better. 2 rotations is the recommendation more than that the female threads tear the Teflon.
