Gigantic Coconut made for Vita Coco advertising campaign. Carved from polystyrene / styrofoam, and coated in foil and glass fibre.
We have used this product before. That is really cool looking. I like the foam idea around the bottom. Had not thought about that.
Brilliant my friends... Thank you so much for posting.. I love Aden's sense of humor. Great fun!
Another great build guys 👍👍
Thanks Genius!
looks great! my girlfriend and I have been sculpting with Styrofoam lately and really appreciate your videos
Another masterpiece Aden, I love watching all your videos!!!
you have such a good job.
you guys are good !!
This is mind blowing. Thanks again for sharing.
I got wondering while watching whether you use epoxy resin or polyester resin for your fiberglassing? Or does it vary depending on the job?
We use two types of polyeser resin. General purpose which is less expensive but flammable. And Class O which is fire retardant, and more suitable for things going indoors.
these videos are so helpful! where do you find the big blocks of styrofoam? im a glass artist and need rigid foam
What is the foam adhesive that holds the major pieces together? Great work!
Hi Phillip, the foam is called No Nonsense expanding foam. You get it in cans that you apply with a squirt gun. (tricky to use and keep nice and clean, needs practice not to get it everywhere, absolute nightmare on clothes and hands)
love your work! What is sticky foil? Where would I find some?
Thank you for the great videos! !!!!!
Hi Jill, the foil is called Tikki Tape and we buy it here in the UK. If you're from the UK, have a little Google for it, but I'm not sure what an alternative is abroad. Likewise if you can't get hold of something like this you can use a few layers of a pva glue as a protection from the resin on the polystyrene. Keep watching, more to come! I hope you've subscribed young lady :D

Thank you for the quick reply. Do you use the tikki tape only for underlayment of resin or other materials as well? and what thickness do you use? 40 microns? 2 mil?
I have found myself making props for local schools and programs California . All help is appreciated. Thanks again! looking forward to the new videos! :)

Hi Bill, I certainly have. It was made for chessington world of adventures, as per their design. Its a rather old video that we're going to take down and remake tbh, but have a look anyway: Snake Themed Poles by Sculpture Studios

Thanks Bill, you won't believe how many CV's we get a week, we're beating people off with a stick :D and we try our best!
where do you purchase the foam of this size?
***** Where we live in the UK, theres a company close by in Essex that produces these blocks, 8ft x 4ft x 2ft large
do they ship material out or no?
I don't think so. I don't think it would be cost effective to ship items that large out for the price that they are
Aden Hynes Sculpture Studios just so I can get an idea on how much I should pay somewhere else how much does one block cost you? (if you dont mind telling me)
Aden Hynes Sculpture Studios I live quite near by could you tell me what the company is called, thanks
I work with yours
