You can tell he genuinely enjoyed doing this. A true professional
Was there any other WWF/WWE wrestler who could've done this?
@@educateme8455 Definitely not like this. Macho Man, the Cream of the Crop!
Well done Macho Man for being a good sport and not taking yourself seriously at all. Respect.
Same to Gordon
I don't think he can hear you, he's in the soil
That was wild 😜 !
Macho was renowned for being good to the fans especially children.
@@jamief1263 didnt he once bodyslam a fan on his car thou?😭🤣
Can tell he toned the intensity down for the kids here , he looks genuinly happy being the kids hero in the studio . Legend
These guys were real life super heroes to a lot of kids growing up in the 80s, early 90s. Randy Savage was definitely larger than life. Rip Macho man
What a pro. Those kids will never forget that day
Great to see the BBC recognise The legendary Macho Man Randy Savage
Very surprising considering the utter garbage they churn out now
The way he delt with "is wrestling fake" question so well. He bassicly answered it earlier where he admitted he was afraid of hurting the other guy. It's a performance, yes, but how well you do and perform DOES determine if you will be champ.
Yep very well put. Wrestling is unique. There really is nothing quite like it. When wrestling is good it's really good. Emotion and story that's what it's all about.
Kid who asked it was 12 bruh
This just shows why he's one of the greatest of all time. What a character on top of his sublime in ring work.
REST IN PEACE MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE (1952 - 2011)
This is Randy Savage on one of his calmer days.
only one big baggy before this one! loved the macho and this is why a proper entertainer who got his audience
YESSSSS! O-S-Dub
Randy looked bored
What bar?
Waka wa hey hey!
I miss waking up on Saturday morning and watching something that's meant to make me laugh, rather than something that's meant to make me cook.
watch eighties cartoons then
Exactly Saturday morning was worth waking up for.
Macho Man was great with children. It`s a shame he never had one or two of his own.
The greatest of all time. Thank you Randy Poffo ❤️
What a good sport.
You get the impression he really enjoyed this.
Legend.
You can never contain the energy in this man....
cocaines a helluva drug
Sadly you can because Randy's gone
I remember seeing this when aired. RIP Randy Savage
Me as well.
This guy was a natural entertainer and an in-ring specialist. RIP Randall Poffo aka Randy “Macho Man” Savage 😔🙏🏾💐🕊
Was the Genius Lenny Poffo his brother??
@@shenglongisback4688 Yeah he was. Lenny was his younger brother 😔🙏🏾
@@edstar7167 did he passed aswell??
@@shenglongisback4688 Nah! He's still alive and kicking! lol
Lol ty
This is yet another reason why I always have been and always will be a Macho Man Fan! He always knew how to stay in character and was great with kids. RIP, Legend.
I watched WWF as a kid and never realized just what a great guy Randy was. I never realized he looked to give back in return, to inspire. I love how the hostess was in on the humor. The respect he gave those kids as equals. There is another feeat vid of him visiting a children's hospital. If you haven't seen it, you should look for it. There is a comment in the hospital vid of a guy who was one of the kids in the hospital expressing his gratitude and appreciation for Randy for that simple act of visiting when he was little.
.
If you watch Randy's documentary on the WWE network, the dude loved doing stuff for kids. He did hundreds of hours of charity work for ill and disadvantage kids. Whenever he'd walk through an airport he would never say no to an autograph and taking a picture with a kid. He did hundreds of make a wish charity's. Randy was a good dude.
Big part of my childhood this man R.I.P Macho Man Randy Savage
God bless the Macho Man. CompleteClass act.
I remember quite a few wrestlers appeared on Going Live and later Live & Kicking - like The British Bulldog, The Rock and Big Show - but I missed this one with Randy Savage.
I really enjoyed watching this. Ever the pro, Randy was great with the kids, handled the tough questions with a mature, professional attitude and also seemed to genuinely enjoy being on the Going Live set with Sarah and Gordon.
One of the most colourful legends ever and all-time greats in the ring. The Macho Man is still beloved & missed to this day.
Perfect vehicle for them, live unscripted TV, just let them create havoc and have the cameras on them.
These were the real superhero’s as a kid. WWF late 80s / early 90s was always my favourite era.
*Randy Savage is a nation treasure… god bless him & god rest his soul.*
A masterclass of walking the line between kayfabe and real life at a time when it shouldn't have been done.
Spot on, When he slipped about not wanting to hurt his opponent and then back tracking "but, not really"
I don't remember this, but what a kick seeing this! Macho Man was an absolute G! His comedic timing was genius, great with the kids and larger than life!
Sarah Greene.....wow! Where is she now??
Can't believe this was 30 years ago??!!
I guess this was before Summer slam at Wembley.
Wrestling and touring car fan here, so...
This was recorded after Wembley Summerslam, which was August of that year. He lost to Ultimate Warrior by countout but kept his heavyweight title, which he didn't have when this was filmed (he dropped it to Ric Flair at some point). I'm surprised he didn't mention it like!
Sarah Greene is seeing ex-BTCC driver Rob Gravett, who used to be teammates with Mike Smith back in the day when they raced RS500's
This was in December 92 to promote the Slam Jam single
Man he was so nice and personable.
One of my heroes from growing up in the 80s and 90s. What a character he was. RIP sir always remembered.
One of the best to ever do it. Savage was a super complex character but he was always renowned for his kindness with kids, amazing wrestler and a great guy.
The level of improv acting talent that Randy could show is wild.
1992 was when wrestling went absolutely over the top in the UK, wrestlers from both WWF and WCW popping up an all kinds of TV shows.
I remember nearly every Saturday morning show on BBC and ITV would have a wrestler whilst on tour in UK
I was at Wembley stadium for summerslam 92. Macho vs warrior, my two childhood heroes. But the best match that night was the British bulldog vs Bret hart.
I quess also you had the big Summerslam event at wembley
@@hermanthetosser4219 yes it was at Wembley in 1992
This was when wrestling was on the decline in the United States.
I was ( and still am) a massive admirer of Sarah, please more clips like this. What a babe. Pity she didnt get more recognition. and when she puts those ribbons in her hair, I'm gone.
Great post Fred
She's beautiful she always has been and still is
hey fred, in that case you might wanna check this out! czcams.com/video/NoFs_eIeBYA/video.html
Her mother was also an absolutely gorgeous woman
Nobody done it better. Macho man was fantastic in every way. His comedic timing was perfect, his outfits were great, he was a fantastic character. Rip
Truly one of the elite....... Rest In Madness, Randy. 💪
Macho man was always there for the kids always ready to do the gimmick a true legend and missed
Randy will always be a true legend. Loved watching him and the other wwf/wwe stars through the late 80s and 90s
Hard to believe this is nearly 30 years ago. Wow.
He was a class act. This was really cool to see. I always liked Macho Man.
He for real lived his character 24/7. On the A&E docu, hia 2nd or 3rd wife said that after they got married and got away from the business (and Tampa, FL) he starting talking and acting "normal".
I'm so glad I grew up in the late 80s / early 90s.
Randy Savage one of the greatest wrestlers and characters of all time and sadly missed. He is in my mount rushmore. All the intensity of his character but fantastic with kids.
I love you Macho Man, Thank you for Every Thing
there will never be another
ever
Sarah is one of the best presenters and should be on TV a lot more.
he did and said things here that were wildly ahead of its time that all went on to be massive lyrics or things in pop culture. absolutely brilliant and priceless piece of media
"Will you take your glasses off a minute?"
"I sure will, I just don't want you to melt!"
This clip is funny and adorable.
Rip Sandy.
Sarah green is fabulous with Randy! Thanks for the upload 💖
4:41 Randy Savage lifts my spirits. Rest in peace Macho!
Savage was pure magic 🎩 ✨️
I miss him so much. What a great guy.
My favorite wrestle
Randy Savage really got himself into the gimmick not just inside the ring but outside too. Love how friendly he was with the kids too.
When legends meet.
When he said he worries about hurting the other guy (then quickly says "not really") was a rare break in kayfabe.
@Marc Carran And you, not thinking he is breaking kayfabe, is your interpretation. Either way, its all good :)
Macho corpsing?
Send for the man.
Gordon the Gopher, what a sweetie. And a bit of a macho man himself when riled by the look of it.
when he put the shades on the kid, macho loved it
I honestly wish the BBC would rerun Going Live & Live & Kicking now on Saturday mornings and I’d watch it every week! Loved this as a kid, us 80s/90s kids had it so good for TV.
and now we have cooking shows .....to become macho for a min " i eat food ....don,t watch it ....yeahhhh "
They aren’t inclusive or diverse enough so they won’t re run them
ADC tv collection uploaded two episodes last week. One from 87 and the other from 91.
But yeah, I wish they would be given a rerun. If the beeb did a nostalgia channel I might even pay my tv licence.
I'm also disappointed that there isn't more ghost train and top banana vids on CZcams. I loved those shows too.
Thankfully there is plenty of fun house episode's though. 👍
They should just restart the 90’s full stop .. it was all so much better back then
@@FowlerLegendGladiators is back, so it's a start.
True entertainer, always in character. Loved him as a kid
I really miss Macho Man Randy Savage there will never be another like him he was one-of-a-kind and by the way he did more greeting the children fans more than Hogan ever did
Macho loved the kids
He was definitely having fun here was brilliant to watch
Love this! More Going Live clips please! Also, I'm really impressed at the quality of this footage 😎
Macho Man aging like fine wine ! One of those wrestlers to me who outshines most !
I had a macho man pencil case I was so happy with and I took it into school (year 1s) some kid must have been jealous because he hid it from me 😂 was probably gonna nab it at the end of the day. When I found it I never let it out of my sight again. Thanks Macho man you were my idol and legend in 89
Same here mate I had one and not heard that word in years nab it
What a true legend he is! Such a big personality and different from anything you've ever seen before. One of a kind. RIP Macho
what a complete legend
Sarah was one on my childhood crushes.
You’re certainly not alone!
Why?
@@donjohn2695 why she was a crush ?
Mach was a gift
RIP brother!
As part of the build up to Summer Slam 92 held at Wembley Stadium Macho Man Randy Savage appeared on Going Live O YEH!
He always loved the fans. R.I.P Macho Man
This is amazing! hahaha Randy is a legend! R.I.P x
Wow after all these years being a wrestling fan since the 80’s ..
I can honestly say
this was genuinely very cool seeing Macho Man Randy Savage do this
Find me a wrestler today that has as much charisma as Randy Savage. You can't.
Incredible performer 🙌
This is probably the most tame macho man has ever been
This was great, Randy was brilliant 👍
RIP Macho Man Randy Savage
Legend macho man grew up watching him r.i.p
Savage is my favorite wrestler ever.
Awesome! As if Macho Man went on going live, so many great moments on that show, Sarah Greene was awesome too. I was about 8 years old at the time 😲😲😂😂
"I sure will, I just don't want you to melt!!" Sarah Greene proceeds to melt.
Very enjoyable to watch this back so many years later. Perhaps it’s the sound of the camera crew laughing, but this reminds me of what Japanese TV is like today!
Randy showed great restraint by not being coked up before this taping, like he did evidently before all of his (also awesome) promos.
He didn't need to ham it up, he was just him
I remember watching this when I was a child. RIP Randy Savage
He looks and acts like he’s on his 6th day of a LSD+cocaine bender, but still gave his time to go on a early morning kids show 🤣
Respect to him, haha
Randy was such a pro love this clip 😊🤘
I remember when this was live it was awesome seeing them in the UK on tv.
Adorable interview!
I remember watching and taping this very episode as a kid! Funny how many times I must have watched it back then as I still remembered every bit watching it now, including most the questions he answered! Nice upload!
I'm almost surprised by how great he is as a kids' tv guest. Great stuff from Randy, RIP. PS. I remember this being broadcast!
He did a lot of work with childrens charities, he loved working with kids.
Sarah is wonderful as always. Subtly taking the piss, wrly funny and in control.
Brilliant at what she does - just like her late husband, Mike Smith.
Consummate professional and one of the most beautiful women on TV ever.
Sarah was a minx
I got to meet Macho Man when I was 8,then again when I was 17.At 20 I was able to actually get to sit near enough to him that I got to see what he was like in real life,no camera was on..He was so awesome..And to top it off,I felt like he remembered me, because I didn't go up to him and bug him,but I did wave at him.(I am a huge mark for Heels 🤣)And I got the coolest side arm thumbs up I've ever seen..Oooh yeah..R.I.P.
Macho..💯
#RIP 🙏
I remember watching this. Recorded it on VHS and played it loads. Love Savage
Sarah would be loving a bit of Randy’s Slim Jim I reckon 😂
Big time, seemingly trying to be subtle about it here
Gordon the Gopher x Macho Man...this is it, this is literally it 🔥
Who'd have thought those 2 names would cross paths!
Miss you Champ. My favorite as a kid. Loved his attire. I’ve never heard of Randy Savage playing backstage politics like Hogan.
The Absolute Best!!!!! He played Santa every year at the Children's Hospital in Clearwater.
"Wrestlers are just actors"....Well yes. I never understood the "it's so fake" thing though, I never walked out of a movie and heard people saying "That was so phoney, you could tell James Bond didn't jump out a helicopter and fall down a cliff!". Much like the stuntmen who do stunts for movies the live stunts they do are quite real and take a lot of training and planning to achieve.
Macho Man was always incredible, oozes charisma in every word he says.
7:43 good stuff. sarahs face is brilliant..
macho definitely fancied her.... (as we all did)
