- OK, this is the last version of The Coverups block party that I plan to post. It is a multicamera edit which consists of the GH5S color corrected angle + a Canon HF G40 that I mounted to a tree. The tree was flimsy and dropped a bunch of crap all over me when I mounted it. Glad the tree remained standing- you can see it bouncing a bit in the video. We also used a different audio source from the tree mount. Sounds a bit better.
The Coverups are a cover band consisting of:
Billie Joe Armstrong- Guitar/Vocals
Mike Dirnt- Guitar/Vocals
Jason White- Guitar/Vocals
Bill Schneider- Bass
Chris Dugan- Drums
Huge thanks to Frank Yeeann Chan for yelling over to me when I was walking by, and letting me hang out with him- it turned out to be a pretty nice place to video.
Recorded by: Shayne Stacy
Equipment used: Panasonic GH5S, Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH Lens, Rode Videomic Pro Stereo + Canon HF G40 w/Rode Videomic Pro Stereo
Edit by: Tromster - Hudba
Mike on electric guitar :o
The best of this is probably the audio. Damn it sounds good!
They may as well just call themselves "Totally Not Green Day" at this point and mix all their side project bands together.
That’s what I call having fun!
That's Great!
It’s so weird to see Mike on an electric guitar rather than a bass, and I’m surprised no one has even said anything about this (ik he can play elec guitar sometimes but its still an odd sight) 😂
18:45 “WAIT on the sons of no one” - they know the lyrics better than Paul.
lol 0:19 Hans switching his guitar to the bridge pickup
an unseen sight. Probably cause a lot of the songs they played call for a bridge pickup.
looks like he has the neck position in some sort of bypass. Billie strummed and nothing came out, and he looked a little confused for a sec then the tech hit the switch and it worked.
A strat Billie used on the 21st Century Breakdown tour was recently sold and the first 2 pickups were actually disconnected because he only likes the bridge. I imagine Blue is the same.
@@bonesuk1898 That's a common old punk rock trick. Bridge pickup is all you need, and the pickup switch turns in to an on/off switch so you don't gotta fuck w/ the volume knob. It's on or off, no 3rd choice...
Lol when they play Drain You just close your eyes and it’s actually Nirvana.
Nirvana and Green Day are my 2 all time favorite bands...But to my ears Nirvana sounded a lot better when they played Drain You
wow jason is pretty good in "I wanna be sedated"
1:09:10 non synhronized audio and video, when it's the other camera's turn
Could you Reupload Operation Ivy - July 4th 1988 please?

Les Paul? Gibson?
Les Paul jr
@@Smitty726 actually a les paul special
One camera out of synch half way through destroys this!
this may sound superficial.. but I wish they would ditch the blazers.
Billie used to wear a button up and tie ironically, and it was great. Now he wears a button up and blazer because .. not sure why but it feels blah and yuppie-ish.
A little bit past ‘’may”
Because it’s old school punk.
@@kennygilchrist423 Just like I mentioned with Billie wearing a button up and tie back in the day, the old school punk wearing a blazer was done ironically to make a statement about the upper class. A punk wearing a tie or a blazer was thumbing their nose at the elite. What we're seeing now are just elite, rich, old musicians.
By the way, I'm still a life-long Green Day fan, but that yuppy style is a turn off.
maybe he just likes it. He doesnt owe you shit.
@@wolf986 I know he doesn't owe me anything and I realize my opinion doesn't mean shit, but I am still free to express it.
for the record, I still love Billie.
