- Get the a/c discharged and disconnect the battery first. Nearly everything else is shown for removing the 1.8L engine. You might find it easier to remove the coil packs before pulling engine vs. doing it during lifting.
Built turbo engine is going in next.
Songs are Polyphia - "The Worst" and "Goose" - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is the better Miata engine removal videos. No 30 min intro of someone talking about stuff I don't care about. No mid-video sales pitch. Actually shows driveshaft removal and PPF management. Well done sir 👏
You made it look easy, gives me the courage to try it. Appreciate all those angles, you got for the footage. I dig the music too.
You can do it! Just take it one piece at a time... Just FYI but for the a/c you could also unbolt the compressor from the engine and move it out of the way with the lines still connected. That way you can avoid needing to vacuum the a/c lines out. Good luck!
Ah someone who listens to polypia
a miata page with polyphia as the background music....i have found my new favorite channel
Sorry to disappoint lately - I have been very slow at filming swapping turbo engine back into it!
How long did this take you
Do you think I can leave the a/c lines still there and bungie cord the compressor? I'm pulling out my 02 today for a stock rebuild
Yes, I believe this should be possible with some finesse when you remove and reinstall the engine. Need to be careful putting the engine back in too and avoid putting stress on the hard lines.
liked for music
Polyphia!
Well?
You ever put an engine back in?
What is the equivalent of the Clutch removal parts for an automatic?
Im attempting to pull my engine aswell but mine is automatic
Just sell it to someone who has a manual. This is a year old post- and I might come off nasty. Just sell it. Someone might have a manual just like yours that needs some parts. Those parts aren't cheap, I don't care what they say. Save the automatic. There's something there. IDK what it is, just save it and don't use it. NEVER USE IT. Just keep it. IDK why.. ... ..
@@tmo2798 uhm ok thanks
I know it's an old post, but an automatic has a flex plate and torque convertor, instead of a clutch and flywheel. Typically the TC is unbolted from the flex plate through an access panel (rotate the engine a little at a time to access each bolt), before the transmission comes off. Then when the trans is removed, the TC comes with it. Then after that the flex plate can be unbolted from the driveshaft.
Aren't there any engine mounts? Or have I missed them?
Yes they are in there -removing from subframe. Check 5:33
@@markhammond568 got it, thanks!
Did you just unbolt or did you remove the bolts somehow
Please put a dollar amount on having someone do this for me.
Probably about 2k in today's world.
