I watched every episode of this when it originally aired, it only ever aired once and never again lol. Was absolute chaos, but I was one of the best TV experiences id ever had as a kid lol.
I've seen Johnny in Tesco plenty of times with his boy. He's just a normal bloke. He was pissed all throughout these days. He stopped drinking an is a very talented man.
@@Le_Petomane There's a really interesting interview with him if you search on here for "RHLSTP Jonny Vegas". It was a character, but not an act - he genuinely got pissed to do the character.
'I've never shat in me life. I internally process and combust everything. All I do is fart, I've never ever pooed. I don't know what the feelings like. And I feel sorry for you fools that have to wipe your arses. I turn shit back into energy, or conversation. That's what makes me feel good about meself. I'm totally self-reliant. If there was a nuclear war, I could survive in the desert by licking sand.' lol One of the funniest random monologues I've ever heard.
If j remember correctly the whole premise of this show was to make something so horrific that it was get cancelled, I think i heard him talk about it in later years how he was trying to make a shipwreck of a show and I think it worked, a little bit Andy Kaufman like.
I often wonder if any of his old teachers at seminary school saw this. They's breathe a sigh of relief that 'Johnny' didn't energe from Michael Pennington earlier in life. 😂
I loved this, on the DVD commentary they said that they made a show that they knew Channel 4 wouldn't commission for a second series, thats why it was so mish-mash and chaotic, but thats what made the show great to me! Best bit is when he's playing poker for control of the last 15 minutes of the show (57:20 on the vid) , that cracked me up big style! :-)
Came here from the Richard Herring podcast thing, where Johnny describes "Johnny Vegas the character". I'm not sure I believe that this is a character.
After reading his book. Watching him descend from that one man bar and let out the roar at the bottom, really made me pause and write this quickly. Bye bye Michael.
...jesus fucking christ lol I didn't think he ever went this fucking far around he ten minute mark when he got punched. I think the audience member he picks out are probably in on it but that punch looked VERY real. He's not an idiot at all, he is a genius but damn.
Yep, this is mental, but actually it is mild compared with Jackass series. And some people do not mind being ruffled a little bit, and the punch is not that bad. even it seems that he got the lights out for a fraction of a second. But even me you and 90 percent of population does not really enjoy this kind of fun, I assure that out there are plenty who enjoy it a lot more tough.
I saw Huey and the fun-loving criminals main stage at Cock Rock Fest in Cockermouth up North.... Great set! Then Huey did a little set within a Reggae tent... When Doves Cries by Prince was remixed or re vocalised was sung.... Great memory.. After the show offered him a spliff... He declined as too many eyes watching..... Say whut ;)
Ahh, remember those days of freedom? David Soul's story was shocking but he was just 20! He probably has many stories as he had 4 exwives , lived in London, paris, L.A. & many famous friends
Saw him on a recent richard herring podcast, apparently, jonny isn't his real name, his real name is Michael Pennington and jonny is an alter ego. I think watching this though, it's the ordinary guy, Michael, that's the alter ego 😂
Oh, anything went in these shows ...if someone had looked straight down camera 1 and screamed "Savile's a pedophile!" ...it would have been edited out ...oh what days they were.
"the V sign." In the UK it's offensive if you do it with the back of your hand facing the person (like the middle finger) but meant victory if you have the back of your hand facing inwards. We never indicate "two" like that but some Americans do, which can be childishly amusing to us...well, to me
this would never run these days
I watched every episode of this when it originally aired, it only ever aired once and never again lol. Was absolute chaos, but I was one of the best TV experiences id ever had as a kid lol.
i shared this experience, it was wicked to watch
I recorded the whole series on video and used to watch it on those nights stuck home smoking bad hash with my mate after school or college 👌
I loved it ive searched and searched the Internet for years to try and find the complete series wish I could find it
Johnny sure has mellowed. He was a madman back in the day!
He was drunk
Because he got a kid or he got kids
wow this was great actually
Funnier too.
Johnny is a character, not a person
I've seen Johnny in Tesco plenty of times with his boy. He's just a normal bloke. He was pissed all throughout these days. He stopped drinking an is a very talented man.
It’s an act.
@@Le_Petomane He is a local lad here, he was drunk all the time, it became his act. It wasn't acting.
@@Le_Petomane There's a really interesting interview with him if you search on here for "RHLSTP Jonny Vegas". It was a character, but not an act - he genuinely got pissed to do the character.
@@greenyblueish6138 You must be from St Helens then. I am truly sorry.
@@dantheman192 Haha I live there but not from there 😂
Johnny Vegas live, is the best stand-up show I have ever seen, and i've seen some great ones.
RIP David Soul

Its refreshing to get raw entertainment, unpolished and genuinely funny.
This was one of the first programmes I saw when I bought my first TV 📺 . Unfortunately I only caught the final episode.
I love that these people paid for this.....he’s something else
I cooked 4 sausages, made a cup of coffee and watched the whole thing.
A powerhouse of genius and comedy. Always loved Johnny Vegas. Was a nut, now more mellow, ALWAYS genuinely good at what he does. X
Imagine a show like this nowadays. Would get taken off air in no time
its pretty fucked up
He seemed to sexually assault people quite regularly

Johnny Vegas is like that episode of South Park where Kenny will do anything for money

Agree, but I don't see it in the above, I skipped bits so maybe missed it. Timmy with his fruit.
cheers for posting this mate
what a great show.
Man this is awesome!
Possibly the best thing ever to air on television. (He surely weighed more than 18 stone however).
You'll never get TV like this again. Which is a downer.
This is definitely a different side of British culture from what I get from watching QI ... but it's still pretty brilliant.
Very different. This is much more cultured
Unnervingly brilliant.
what a legend!
The funniest show i ever watched.

Kathy was great on this held her own against the madness
no way never knew he was this ruthless.
It's a shame that the seperate episodes are lost media now, unless someone has them recorded off the TV on VHS/dvd/dvr
You can buy them on DVD mate.
@@colmhauser9532 no you can't, it's a "best of" featuring clips of all the episodes, the full episodes have never been released
@@SimmyBassline Ah you're right, my bad.

What was that thing in the beginning with people doing what looked like giving him the middle finger, but also the pointer?

I'm beginning to think more and more that Johnny Vegas is Johnny Welly's son!
