Unpopular opinion but their emotional/melodic songs (Vahle, Erased, intake, Edge of the earth, up all night, columbian faction etc ) absolutely outshine the straight up heavy tracks.

Not unpop opinion at all. Love what you love. Beauty is beautiful. Feels are real. My connections and relations to the music aren't going to be the same as yours though. I've catalogued this as a memory but I am allowing it to grow and change in meaning overtime. I hope that music continues to touch your soul.

That hits really hard when you know this song was written in remembrance of their friend James Vahle. There is also a sample clip of his voice mail before the breakdown, hits right in the feels. RIP James Vahle.

You’re the only CZcamsrs to react to this beautiful song! I love the pre-production version better because I think the bass shines more during the chorus. (In reality, it’s just they changed the bass note for it)
Yeah, volumes was one of those bands I always figured had super easy guitar parts but damn... Even as someone who also play drums figuring out those rhythms is brutal.
See that’s my problem with metal music and mainly musicians, it doesn’t have to be technically challenging, make good catchy music, who cares if it gives you carpal tunnel lol
Still have the physical copy of this! Love the cleans! 1:49 love that guitar! Should give coming clean EP a listen!

form what i remember this song was made out to A friend of the band members who died in a car crash. He left a voice mail to one of them before he died and they put it the song.

What I love about this track in terms of the clean vocals is the clean vocal melody is which are very reminiscent of Easycore!

Damn I love volumes. I was blown away by how much I loved the contrast of their Different Animals album was compared to their other stuff. Their newish single Pixelate is awesome too. I don’t think I’ll ever not like something this band does. One of the few bands that I would follow into any sound switch up or genre change.
This is a great song but the mix on this record turned out so bad. It was pretty clippy and they released a remixed/remastered version a few years ago. The demo version of this song with the lyric video is the one to check out for sure.
Still need to check out Atlas "Ukko". My favorite song right now. Fucking badass! Let's fuckin do it!

When this song came out as a Pre-production Demo, I was so damn hyped, probably one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Then the album came out with this version and I was really disappointed with the mix, this version lost A LOT of feeling.
Hope you check the pre-production demo, I would like to see your opinion about it.

For context; Their buddy James died in a drunk driving crash. The guy you hear talking in the prechorus is his actual outgoing voicemail. Hence: “Why the fuck couldn’t you have left it in the driveway…I would’ve picked you up.”

Interesting not a huge fan of Volumes mainly because their newer stuff is just not my cup of cake, but I like this sound from them. This is the best song I’ve heard from them!
Have you listened to the whole "No sleep" album? I don't like anything after that album, but this one is one of my favorite albums ever.
I love and support Volumes with anything they do but man the old stuff from No Sleep amd Via really turn the place upside down live

All these bands sound sooo similar if not the same. Sound, vocals, melodies, rythms... all the same.
There are so few original bands that sound refreshing and "new" it's a shame.
This is their only good song, no?
