    I just finished looking at every swing blade mail in the world and I’ve come to a conclusion that this one just might be the best. I’m really tired of getting covered in powdered wood every day I think I’m going to make the plunge.

    Where are these made? To cut a 2"×12" what model would you need ? Would it be logical to use an 8" cutting depth and cut both sides ?

      Made in British Columbia. Look them up on their website to get that info. It's all there.

      @@robertowen1648 that is the problem with these. They talk a good line but they all have their hand out. I think they are all made in China so they can pocket more money. I almost bought a peterson years ago while they were made in Australia. I met the inventor in ohio and was impressed with the machinery until all of the prices skyrocketed. They claim cheaper operation, but only if you look past the initial cost. I pass.

    That looks flimsy and way too many weird adjustments. I’ll stick with a bandsaw mill.

    • @johnnybarbar7435
      @johnnybarbar7435 Před 2 lety

      Try one before making judgements. Band mills are OK for lower production use and multiple handling of the cants and planks for young backs.

    • @brucea550
      @brucea550 Před 2 lety

      @@johnnybarbar7435 Band mills are the primary commercial mills in most places now, so they’re far from ‘lower production’. In fact, I’ve never heard of any commercial mill using a swing blade.
      I’m sure a swing blade is fine for smaller dimensional lumber but you need a second mill or attachment changeover for larger boards or live edge slabs.

      @@brucea550 i guess you didnt watch the video hey lol this thing does both! Slabs up 92 inchs wide does your band saw do that?

    • @brucea550
      @brucea550 Před 2 lety

      @@BlackDevill9 No, my bandsaw doesn’t, and neither does this swing blade. First off- It can’t do a 92” slab when the biggest log it can handle is only 48” (0:55). But my bandsaw will slab up to 32” wide. Read the fine print- this thing has a slabbing attachment you have to buy which is basically a chainsaw mill. They show it at 07:10.
