    If anyone wants to neat it up:
    without multiline gutenberg saves tag. Don't forget to update edit() method and body selector in attributes{ selector: '.cta-content'} too.

    It's amazing that in 2022, this 2019 video series is one of the only resources I could find that really dives properly into block development. I think it's time to update this series based on all the changes from the past few years! Pretty please? Thanks!

      Eheh, thank you so much. I was very excited about Gutenberg originally but the continuing drastic changes, breakages, and overall silly complexity of the whole implementation kinda drained the passion.
      I’m waiting to see if it will ever reach a more stable state in order to create a tutorial that doesn’t get outdated after a few months

      @@alecaddd I hear you. I'm still installing "Classic Editor" on all my sites for this reason. Documentation is abysmal!

    cool. seems to be a good and fun way to program. 👏🏻👏🏻 I still prefer to code because my clients hate the wordpress panel. in the end, it is myself who will make the updates.

    Great source to learn Gutenberg Keep it up. I have one question is it possible to attach the seperate style sheet to custom block totally independent from theme stylesheet.

      Yes it is. We will see how to do it later in the series.

    First of all, I want to thank you for all your videos! You are amazing!
    But as I tried this tutorial now on last steps in 16:12 minute of the lesson I got warnings in my console like "wp.editor.richtext.content is deprecated"
    So as I found it can be fixed by changing const { RichText } = wp.editor to const { RichText } = wp.blockEditor;
    And the same in file gutenberg.php in dependencies change 'wp-editor' to 'wp-block-editor'

    I notice that on front end ( live page ), a tag, not in inspector tool, but as a text . It happens if you leave a empty line in editor for h2 title. Does anyone know how to go around this?

      @JonathanLoganClark Před 3 lety

      @narkar I noticed the same thing recently as well. I ended up changing the body RichText to have tagName="div" and multiline="p". This creates a div that can contain as many paragraph tags as a user chooses to input.

    Allesandro , I just found your channel , what a diamond. I really need to make you a question brother. Well, I currently never worked with wordpress in general or any other cms because I loved programming from scratch(....bad for me finally) . I have excellent programming knowledge (using Laravel framework mostly).
    It is the time now , to get my first job , but here in my country Greece , 90% of web development positions need Wordpress knowledge.
    I can dedicate 10 hours per day to learn the ins and outs of it as fast as possible. Can you maybe guide me? For example if you could suggest me some series to watch (with order) , to make me a hirable wp developer. I really learn fast and I would love to learn it's ecosystem.
    The only problem is that there are too much terminology(plugins,themes, custom posts, child themes and more) and I would like to have a good order of series to complete.
    Hope to get an answer, thank you very much!! Subscribed!

      I'd suggest checking my playlists on mu channel as those are well organized. You can start with the WordPress 101 series, then move to the Premium Theme Development series, and then continue with the Plugin Development series. That should give you a full overview of what WordPress can do and how it does it.
      Happy Coding and good luck!

      Αδερφε, ετσι οπως πανε να την κανουν τη Wordpress, blocks oriented, δε θα ναι πια η CMS - friendly πλατφορμα που ξερες. Εγω θα σε συμβουλευα να αρχισεις να κοιτας εναναλλακτικες της.
      I just told my fellow Greek Developer to better start looking for Wordpress alternatives, because the future all blocks Wordpress won't be the friendly CMS it used to be.

      @@antonyjere οχι δεν εννοω Joomla.. Κοιτα, θα σε στεναχωρησω, αλλα ο μονος τροπος ειναι τα ψαξεις για Wordpress Alternatives και να τα δεις ενα-ενα μονος σου, εξαλλου πρεπει να εχεις και στο νου σου με τι project θες να ασχοληθεις κι αν η εναλλακτικη καλυπτει τις αναγκες σου. Η Wordpress σαν CMS εχει καλυψει το μεγαλο κομματι της αγορας για τις μικρες επιχειρησεις. Για μενα η Wordpress σαν CMS πεθαινει. Αν θες να πιασεις αυτο το κομματι θα πρεπει να μελετησεις τι προσφερεται. Κι εγω στο ψαξιμο ειμαι, δεν εχω καταληξει ακομη για να σου προτεινω κατι.

    I was trying to find a mistake in my code for almost 3h. It turns out I didn't realized (maybe because I'm stupid or something), that "selector" means selectors like in css, but I thought, hey its a p-tag so lets just write "p" into it. And hey, there're lot's of funny errors if you have more than one of those p-tags.
