    I thought that you couldn’t charge the battery straight from the adapter. I was told it would ruin the battery.

    Cool work man!

      Thanks. It plays clean/loud/goes low (about 45-50Hz). If I had a bigger box, could reach a little lower.

    Hello MSgt, I saw the plaque on your work bench. My question is about the battery and the power supply. I bought one that was a 29v that said it was for charging the 24v systems and it acted like it was charging but and showed green like it was charged but it would only read 7v with a small load on it the same voltmeter readout you use and I verified with another meter. So do you think that the BMS on the battery kicked out for over-voltage? If a battery has this circuitry can you just use a 24v power supply and let the battery circuit turn off the charging! Love your videos and work. I’m a retired Chief with 35 years of active and guard over here in Fort Smith area.

      29v battery? From what I read, sounds like a mismatch with the battery and charger. I have been using DeWalt 20v batteries with a 20v AC/DC adapter and 24v Kobalt lithium batteries with a 24v AC/DC adapter with no issues. You want to "be close" with the battery's rated voltage and the AC/DC adapter (not a charger, per se...adapters act more like a power supply). Lithium batteries do better this way and will protect themselves. Some "chargers" won't charge lithiums properly...esp if they are made for flooded batteries...ie - they won't charge if the voltage is too low. Good luck Chief.

      @@ChrisDIYerOklahoma Thanks for the quick reply and have a happy 4th of July! The fireworks aren’t the only things that can boom. Love seeing another older guy that still loves playing around with stereo equipment!

    I am going to do a similar setup with two 8" kicker marine speakers and pair it with a 20V dewalt battery. The bluetooth amp I am going to use is 12-36v and 160 amps*2. Should I get a voltage amplifier to increase my voltage/wattage to the speakers? I am new to this.

      My 2-cents...might consider using the 24v Kobalt lithium battery and pigtail wire adapter. Those 4-volts make a fair amount of difference. I use a 12/24-36v step up booster with my 20v DeWalt batteries. Have fun making this beast!

    I just did this with a Milwaukee a month ago damn

      Did you put any safety to keep the battery from draining completely
      Milwaukee battery are sensitive so if you go below 16v it won’t take a recharge
      Also I’m running the S350HS with hopes to make a sub that has a quick connect for extra bass

    Chris- Any chance you sell any of these speakers built?

    • @ChrisDIYerOklahoma
      @ChrisDIYerOklahoma  Před měsícem

      No, never sold any. I did "swap" one in exchange for some house work being done. Gave a few away to family/friends. These are too expensive to make/sell...and nobody will pay for what I charge. There is a guy in Texas that custom makes/sells them. He is here on YT. Not sure (or care) what he charges.

    How many hours does a full charge last? This battery and ur old battery

    • @ChrisDIYerOklahoma
      @ChrisDIYerOklahoma  Před 3 měsíci

      Hard to say -- full charge on the 24v one lasted all day with background sound. Best WAG at maximum thump, prob 3-4 hours. Those little digital chip BT amplifiers sip power...unlike traditional old-school car amps.
