  • The Killerplanes LEARN TO FLY RC WITHOUT A GYRO series is here! In this video, we start you off with a load of information about flying an RC plane, with LESSON 1 included. Each of our lessons will include a whole LOAD of tips, tricks, and need-to-know information that was learned the hard way by pilots before you. Why learn the hard way when you can learn the easy way?
    Our method of flying an RC plane is based on a simple principle, which is this: let your hand fly the plane! It's actually easy to learn the "MUSCLE MEMORY" technique of controlling a plane- all you need to do is follow our easy instructions, and then practice them on a simulator. We will show you how to acquire the necessary skills on your simulator, which will save you mountains of time and money spent repairing or replacing broken planes, and get you to fly like a fighter jockey with NO FEAR- it's all about having fun, and this is the way to get there! When you have completed the course, you will have all of the basic knowledge, and a lot of advanced knowledge needed to not only fly, but to feel comfortable and be in complete control of your plane, the natural way.
    If you learn and practice these lessons, you will have NO NEED FOR A GYRO- indeed, you will be the gyro, and be able to do maneuvers with your plane that are not possible when it's under the control of a gyro or other computer-based controller. Why? Because the job of a gyro is to keep the plane flying straight and level, and that's not how planes fly- not even airliners! Planes MUST bank their wings to turn, and of course must point down to dive, or up to climb. When is the last time you saw a bird flying without doing those things? If you want to have the kind of control that a bird does, THIS is the way to acquire it!
    So, have fun watching, and then have fun doing the lessons on your simulator. It will all lead to the immense feeling of satisfaction that can only be gotten from the freedom of flight!

    I fly fixed and helis 3D, sometimes I get a sense of being in a plane, but really mostly it's visual cues of low portions of the wing or rotor disk it comes from many hours of consistent practice on the sim and at the field. Muscles don't really remember, your brain does of course, it starts as a slow thought skill with hesitation that gets faster with less
    And less hesitation until the delay is almost non-existent.
    Also, with fixed wing turns coming at you, moving aileron stick towards the low side wing, center gimbal is center of your wing.

      Thanks Jeff! Been training a pair of new German Shepherds, so we've been out of action for a couple of months, so far. (The Chase Crew sisters passed on a couple of years ago, but they live on in Yootoob!) So far, the new girls don't appear to be interested in planes. Bummer! We'll be back around pretty soon!

    A few years ago I had Steve build a max-reinforced HawkSky for me, it saved me from buying “dozens” of new planes a hot glue gun was handy for some minor maintenance. But its still fun flying !!! Thinking about a biplane next. Something I can put an FPV camera on. Steve and Denise have been great to deal with !!! Thx 👍

      THAT is good to hear! We just passed crash number 73 with the current Hawkfighter V8 test plane. It's getting a little wonky, but it still flies, with ALL the original foam parts. I'll bet that's a Guinness Record!

  • @turbinematt3646
    @turbinematt3646 Před 3 lety

    Balls to the walls actually refers back to the days of fly ball governor's. As the equipment speeds up the balls fly out....toward the walls and then closes valves to regulate speed. Depending of course on what type of equipment...so when you are wide open the balls are to the walls or balls out! Nice video!

    • @Killerplanes
      @Killerplanes  Před 3 lety

      Well...actually, (according to the dictionaries) nobody has found any earlier recorded use before AF pilots in Vietnam. Although Korean Vets claim usage, there's no record. I had thought it was from the WW2 era, but- not according to them!

    Nice to see a video, even if it's a simulator instruction. I need to get back to my simulator. Been years since I had some stick time. Do you have any of the FMS 1700mm P-47's? You both stay safe.

    • @Killerplanes
      @Killerplanes  Před 3 lety

      We actually have ONE of them that's partially reinforced, with other partially done upgrades. If you want it, you can have it for the regular price, but you'd have to finish the upgrades yourself! It's the green version, (bubbletop)

    Great video. But the computer software programer obviously does not know that Corsairs are prone to tip stalls during slow speeds, especially turns. There is no way my KP FMS Corsair could fly that slow and stay in the air.

Denise says Hey! What we need is a good east coast fly-in that's in a place that's more accessible. There's an old, BIG airport across the river that they have flea markets in- I gotta check that out. Would you guys want to come to this area for a fly in?
