The MIG-29 was fantastic to watch! Probably my favourite display (bar the Vulcan) on the Saturday.
Very impressed with the MiG-29 Fulcrum this year, great takeoff!

Nice compilation. The Mig-29 take off was spectacular. I watched RIAT live on Planes TV and missed all that. It looked like this was the Sunday show since the Osprey had its gun in place. The Typhoon canards had a lot of movement on takeoff.

Красиво взлетают. А вот мировой рекорд подъема на высоту 13км принадлежит Су-27, время подъема 52сек. Мировой рекорд на высоту 33км принадлежит Миг-25, время подъема 1мин 42сек. Набор высоты идет вертикально на сверхзвуке. Крутые навороченные самолеты НАТО отдыхают.
s1money703 How many MiG'-25's are in Russian service? Did they tell you that after reaching that altitude, or the maximum speed, the plane couldn't make another flight without new engines? I admit, some Russian planes are awesome, but nowhere as awesome, as you might think they are and not the ones you've mentioned either

Владимир Дубровский Mainly because the lack of money to replace them straight away, as now Poland is concentrating on buying new helicopters and submarines, but starting from 2020, all soviet made planes should be replaced by either F-35, Typhoon or Rafale
MiG's and Su are great, but only the newer versions are any match for the modern western planes, and there are only handful of those.
As for the countries still using MiG's, Germany sold all their MiG's to Poland about 20 years ago. The price was something like 1 DM per plane, so that shows you how much were they valued there

TXLspotting Love the sound too. It's just a shame that video can't replicate the ground shaking and ear-wax loosening effects! I had my first visit to RIAT this year (on Sunday) and was standing at the far end of the runway. It's awesome when the jets take off right in front of you. Incredible sound. I think the Vulcan was about the loudest, but the second loudest (IMO) were the two Mirages.
bujin1977 The Vulcan wasn't really that loud because it never went full throttle like it used to, the old girl is delicate! But I went with Air Cadets and one of the Mirages buzzed the camp at a stupidly low altitude and then pulled up so that we were right in line with its engine on full after burner. So I agree, the Mirage was probably the loudest.

Most beautiful take off is the mig's take off. Most difficult take of is the f 16's zeus demo team take off. It's an inverted take off with low speed near the ground and with an single engine plane....too risky!
