    Awesome Tutorials, thanks a lot! Here is one tipp from me: To get a perfectly aligned 5-edged star, you can just draw it standing on one edge (using the control key) and then flip it vertically. That way you don't have to eyeball the alignment of the two bottom edges and it will be perfectly precise every time.

    Thanks for the video. Always learn something. Here's something else: When exporting to PDF its helpful to tick the box convert text to paths. That way if you want to go back and make a change you don't have to recreate the block of text you need to change, its still a font instead of a path.

    This is great, and so useful. Thank You, Nick! A quick question: When you say print-ready, does it mean that it doesnt matter if its not cmyk (since inkscape is rgb)? im on a windows, not linux pc.

    • @LogosByNick
      @LogosByNick  Před 7 lety +5

      Yes, depending on where you have it printed. Most large online print shops (like Vistaprint and Gotprint) do color conversions themselves and RGB files end up printing fine. I've printed many RGB documents with Vistaprint in the past and it always comes out great. Gotprint too. It's the smaller mom & pop print shops where you need to be careful about the color profiles.

    Thank you for another great video!
    Two questions: Don't you need to assign a CMYK profile in order to assure that printed colors would be the same as those seen on screen? After turning text to path (Object to Path), is there an option to go back to text?

    Thanks Nick. Hey question from 2023 here using Inkscape version 1.3. When saving as PDF there is a default recommended option for 'rounding compensation'. From the hover text explanation it sounds like something that's better to turn off, but yet it recommends it being used. Thoughts?

    How do print shops align and cut the piece without the bleed line or a crop line/cut line?
    Is having a bleed margin applicable for customers printing at home?
    Like birthday cards and whatnot.
    Could I export to PNG first and then convert it to PDF, to keep the SVG file as is, without having to convert all text to paths?

      I haven't tried a tablet yet, but if it made for a more efficient workflow I would definitely go for it. I was actually considering buying one a while back but forgot and it slipped my mind. I should probably look into again. I've seen designers using them on CZcams. It looks like it's best for freehand drawing, which I don't do much of.
      As for the logo design kit, yeah I can accept other payment methods. Just send me an email: nick@logosbynick.com Thanks!
