    I received my Akrapovic exhaust from scooter west today. I’ve probably installed 40 or 50 exhaust systems in my life on bunch of different engine configurations. I still watched this video. It allowed me to get my necessary tools out and to mentally work through what needed to be done even though fitting the exhaust Is really easy even for the inexperienced. The carbon shield took 80% of the time of the install . It really looks cool, but if you want to save yourself and hour and $100 go without it. I’m still glad I opted for it. I think it was worth the cost and additional install time. As mentioned, it’s quiet but I’m ok with that. It looks great and suits the scooter. It doesn’t look out of place.

    Do avoid damage it makes sense to first tighten the two back screws and only then tighten the front clamp. This way the whole exhaust system does not built up unnecessary tension, that can lead to cracks in the front area where the clamp is located. As far as I remember it is described that way in the installation manual also and it has been discussed and confirmed like that in the german vespaforum also.
    Nice videos otherwise, lots of valuable informations and help!

    Love your work. Thanks Robot. Wouldn't it work better to install the small clamp for the heat shield the other way around so that the head of the allan key can be accessed from below, making access to it easier? Maybe also carbon fibre washer under the head of the bolt on the outside and the larger washer behind the heat shield?

      We’ve kind of boiled it down to Akrapovic and Malossi, which is what we sell on scooterwest.com. Plenty of other good brands out there, but we try not to over complicate our inventory and we’ve had a good track record with these brands in our repair shop as well. Here’s a Dino video we did that offers a few specs czcams.com/video/AeSY9VhEVqE/video.html How do you like the Remus?

    Hi. I installed this new akra (black version) on my racing sixties gts 300 hpe and it looks and sounds fantastic. Also installed a malossi lambda and the scooter was even faster, but that gives a motor warning. So I removed the lambda and then the warning went away, but I felt so much difference, the lambda made it really more powerfull. Is there a way to avoid this motor warning? I hear other newer gts 300 give motor warning with lambda too, but I didn't find a solution :(

    Will this exhaust system work on the Piaggio Liberty S 150? I’ve been searching for the answer online. I can’t find it. I assume it would, since they share the same engine, correct? Thank you for your time!

    • @VespaMotorsport
      @VespaMotorsport  Před 4 lety

      No, this is specifically designed for the GTS 300. Akrapovic does make an exhaust that will fit the Liberty 150 3V engine, but not with the new iGet motor.

    • @forrysc
      @forrysc Před 3 lety

      ahmet uygur yes and no. They are tack welded in place. You can drill out the weld and use a slide hammer to remove them. It’s a pain and not worth it. I’d look for the older style as they are still available. At least here in the USA they are.

    • @ghinio3675
      @ghinio3675 Před 3 lety

      @@forrysc On this one it is not welded, it is screwd. The screw however does have a welding spot, but can be removed without problem if done with care. But you have to drill the carbon endcap at the right spot to get access to the screw. Looking at it when muffler is mounted, the screw is on the inside (side thats facing towards scooter).
