For the first time I hear Bob Dylan in Asaf's music.
The video seemed to be about something else than his song----Like two different stories going at once. Baffling beauty.
Babylon is a symbol of sin, wickedness, evil, the people who lived there were materialistic heathens. I take it as Asaf is singing about wanting to indulge himself in activities that might be considered sinful, without a care, just give in to all desires. "I know there's a night, at the edge of this light" - he longs for the darkness, not the light. "Rain your terror down on me, untame the blueness in these eyes" - he doesn't want to be naive and good anymore.
The whole album "The study on falling" is about the process of falling out of love with someone, a relationship disintegrating.. And he's been in Babylon before "all the tunes I used to sing, let me try them on my lips again, you know I never miss a note" - he's good at being destructive, dark and wicked! 😁
Wanting to be carefree and more animal-like, after trying for so long to do everything right and it still didn't work. I give up, now let me just exist and do whatever, let me be "evil".. maybe also to punish yourself...
Great analysis! Thanks
It is a great analysis! Thanks
Again a work of art from Asif. Simply beautiful. Thanks Izzy
2 days ago, I was at Asaf Avidan's concert and it was WOWWW spectacular, powerful ,amazing! incredible performance and artist❣️
Oh yeah!!! I love this song! Poetic poetry full of sin❤️🔥❤️🔥 A very creative video and I also love the live version! Thank you for your reaction🙏
Ohhhhh I loveee this !!!❤❤❤
I listen to him daily now since you introduced him on here
I love this one too!!
Try green and blue next ❤
❤❤❤
I was thinking the guitar playing sounded like Robert Cray
I'm not that familiar with his work.
He said in an interview that he did not believe in god
He believes in science but that he he loves the poetic part of the Bible
So this song has me baffled now lol
Read my interpretation in my commen, maybe you agree with that one :) he’s not religious but uses biblical terms because of their mythological meaning
Yes he is brilliant and sometimes over my head but I love him!
I love your interpretation though! That added a new dimension to the song for me
I like his live versions soo much better
Love green and blue
And
My old pain
He requires a bit of an open mind.. do you agree?
Like you have to think when you listen ❤️✨
Thanks! I'll add it to my list. I would like to compare them.
So I’ve only seen this live..
Now the video has me confused
I thought the song was about a woman he should not be with
Hmmmm
It could be about many things. I think the beauty of music is, that it can mean different things to different people, and also at different times.
