You might might have missed the monsune but it got me. Everything drenched and the temp dropped from 102 to 70 in a few minutes. On the fire trailer, I'd combine the generator and pump and simply use a gas powered pump. That is unless he planning to use the trailer as a construction trailer in addition to being a fire trailer. Then he probably needs the generator to run a welder and other tools.
@pennycardon3276 Yeah, I'm not sure what system he's going to use. I'm only hired to put an adequate bed on the trailer. He has been using a pickup truck with one tote and a gen with pump, so I don't know if he will just be switching that over or just have the truck and trailer.
How long is that trailer? A fire fighting trailer is a really good idea! My property is sloped in such a way that I can install sprinklers every 50 feet or so and cover the whole property with gravity fed water. Something I should definitely consider. Thanks for the idea.
Gravity fed sprinklers will be a letdown. They need a pumps pressure to be efficient. On a slope the lower ones will steal the pressure from the rest on them. But, an inexpensive rv pump running on a 12v battery with a small solar panel and controller would work perfectly. I have a setup like that in Mt Garden of Eating
The more I-beams the better - your idea on adding a few more should strengthen it up sufficiently to do the job. There are probably books where one could read the strength of those I-beams and that load they can safely carry - but I figure it you make it heavy duty enough using common sense, you won't have to worry about crunching numbers for the engineering part of it. Will you weld on the I-beams to the cross pieces, or bolt them? Good job, GBear!
@samvalentine3206 They'll be welded, full run beads, not spotted. The planks will be held in place with deck screws through the side channels, and self drill, self tap screws on the I-beams. It will never be licensed for street, just used in the desert dirt roads.
