- The Godin 5th Avenue brings you back to a time when the archtop acoustic guitar reigned supreme. With the soul of a 1950s archtop, the 5th Avenue is a true vintage spirit of yesterday with today’s level of modern playability. With more projection & volume in the low/mids than traditional acoustic archtop guitars, the dynamically rich tone of the 5th Avenue makes this sophisticated instrument a dream to play but not a nightmare on your wallet. The Godin 5th Avenue now makes the dream of owning an affordable North American archtop a reality! From Alt-Country, Delta Blues, Slide, Jazz to Rock, the 5th Avenue can really deliver both acoustically and electrically. The Godin Kingpin P90 single-coil pickup delivers all that classic vintage tone with presence, clarity, and a little attitude thrown in for good measure!
Made from Canadian Wild Cherry, the body of the 5th Avenue features a molded arched top and back; as well as an adjustable bridge, classic F-holes, contoured high-gloss headstock, floating pickguard, and cream binding. Also, the rustic beauty of its Custom Polished Finish creates a gorgeous satin sheen reminiscent of the 19th century.

Great video! If i may say so, the angle doesn't look that unusual
i cant believe how full that sounds stringwise
I really beautiful guitar..... love it
When I change the strings on any of my archtops, I change one string at a time... this prevents the bridge from shifting...
Hi, thanks for a really interesting and informative video. I have one of these Godin 5th Avenue Kingpins. A really lovely instrument but I find the action particularly high. Is it feasible to lower the action to be quite low? I know its basically a Jazz guitar but I really prefer a low action.
HI... would you like to send me pictures and I can advise.... austen @ austenlennon .co.uk side view, of bridge and top nut... etc...
My Godin XTsa is a favorite
1400 pounds?? Your model is only only $799 USD. Wow.
Hi, great video! Just curious, what brand of strings did you put on, and what gauge? Thanks
More than likely Elixir 10's if my memory serves me well the customer supplied the strings himself.... thanks for the comment!
Hello, sir. What kind of adjustment would I need to make on my Godin 5th Avenue Kingpin II HB to go down to 0.9 s, in order to keep the action low, avoid buzzing and keep correct intonation? Thanks in advance. Your cat is very sweet 😊
You have a lot of choices on your guitar to get you great action but first you must start with a straight neck. But a cheap Ruler Height Gauge from Amazon or Wish and adjust your truss rod until you get that straight neck. I tell you what I will do a short special video about getting the neck straight and post it in the next few days... ok?
@@LennonLuthierFinagler Ok, thank you so much. Have a great day!
Thanks for posting this..... Godin the most mis-pronounced name in Guitars. I've heard it pronounced like 4 different ways. I was lucky I got mine almost 8 years ago for 500 USD
I have 3 varieties
I just bought dame one..what tape is that to guide placement of bridge
That is paper tape that is used to mask off edges... masking tape.
Is the cat essential? We only have a dog 🙂
The best way to watch my videos is with a cat on your lap and the sound and video off. :-) GG is my absolute darling.... so, yes, she is essential to me. :-)
haha i sand and played that song at my wedding
I hope it didn't sound like my version!!!!!!
Not "Kwaybec"!.....Kaybec! 😉🙂 (Quebec)
