      I have a personal theory that perhaps the triforce was split apart and given to the 3 dragons. I mean they're named after the goddesses and their springs are direct references to the triforce virtues. Think about it, it would be split apart into 3 different hiding places that are constantly moving around between the sky and depths, plus very few people can even see they exist
      They'd actually be the perfect hiding places, even rauru wouldnt be able to find it anymore. Plus i cant help but feel if the royal family actually did have the triforce in a normal hiding place like the sacred realm, rauru would definitely know about it and would have used it against ganon, but it wasnt even an option to him despite the fact he clearly knows of its existence

      @@gamezxMy theory is similar. I believe the ancient Zonai were Triforce wielders. I believe that at some point the Zonai decided to seal away the Triforce so it could never be used for evil.
      Let’s say they decided to break it into several pieces and hide them away. These re-wrought Triforce shards came to be known as “secret stones”, the secret being that once unified they are the power of the Triforce.
      Three of their number were entrusted with a sacred task: to consume their secret stone (aka Triforce shards) at the sacred springs, sacrificing themselves to roam the sky for eternity in order to seal away each piece of the Triforce.
      In this framing, the reason given by Mineru for why draconification is forbidden, is just a cover story. The real reason is because this act would weaken the seal.

      I actually believe the TotK Ganondorf is the OoT Ganondorf.
      The TotK kneeling to the king scene is pretty 1:1 with The OoT one.
      This would explain why we never saw the king in OoT... because he was Zonai, but Nintendo hadn't created the Zonai yet.
      Also, with TotK Zelda there to warn them, there's no opening or need for an Adult Timeline OR a Child Timeline.
      So TotK is simultaneously a reboot and/or retcon of the Zelda Timeline while also taking place "After Ocarina of Time...at the END of the Timeline" without having to specify WHICH Timeline because it's in its OWN timeline.
      😏

  • @Crazychik96
    @Crazychik96 Před 10 měsíci +22

    I just had a thought here. What if TOTK (the founding portion) happened at the end of Skyward Sword? Hear me out here, there is a possibility of a timeline split due to Demise being defeated at two points of time and the result leads to what happened with the adult timeline. When Demise was defeated outright in the past, which includes his curse, the second Link and Zelda return to their time to establish the surface in that timeline begins a seperate one. Hylians still return to the surface and acclimate to living on a much larger scale than the islands they grew up on. With the help of Impa, they build new homes and expand their boarders to support a larger population. Leaders rise but not as kings until the Zonai descend from the skies generations later. It was at this time that a hylian preistess named Sonya would step forward to greet the leader of the Zonai. This was when they took it upon themselves to finally fully establish a kingdom, for the safety of both people....and they would include the other tribes which have their own villages and domains. This was when Hyrule was truly born in this timeline. Sonia and Raru would wed after the construction of the Temple of time had been completed, soon to start negotiations with the other tribes of Hyrule. After several years of Hyrule growing from its infancy, this is when Zelda would appear and be found by the royal couple.
    Given that this happened in the past of SS, the master sword DOES exist in this timeline as Link puts the blade to rest in the pedestal before he returns to his original time with Zelda. This leaves the future timeline of SS without a master sword. This could be that later down in that timeline, they create a new sword when a new threat rises that would require the sages for power instead of relying on the goddess's power of light as the recreation may not be as powerful as the original blade on its own. The original master sword would be in the timeline of ToTK and BoTW, hence why Zelda would have the power to restore the blade since she is the descendant of Hylia...the one who created the goddess blade.
    This also could explain how the Zora AND Rito could exist as the Loftwings could have evolved into the Rito after some time. All these evolutions could have occurred over time before Hyrule was officially established and all the Hylians were only in villages around the surface. Some Hylians would live in the desert and eventually become the people known as the Gerudo. Others would go and train to become a Sheika under the guidance of Impa. Every few generations the name would be passed down to their wisest leader.
    Demise's curse would still be in effect since it happened here in the past as well, hence why Ganondorf turned into the demon king when he gets in possession of the secret stone.
    I almost want to say that there may be some events that happen from other games in other timelines that DO happen but instead of it being another ganondorf....it was a calamity in which the power of the ganondorf sealed under the castle may have spilled out. There is much more that could be implied here but I will stop here before I go into a ton more details.

      @liraxcz Před 10 měsíci +4

      Your theory is impossible, not only with the whole timeline split thing but everything. They cant make another master sword, the loftwings have no way of evolving to the rito, and if it was true all the events after ss as we know it would be impossible

      @@liraxcz But when they go back to defeat Demise a second time, its far off into the past where its described as the events haven't even healed from the war. This means Zelda/Link aren't even born yet. When Demise is defeated in the past, that cancels out everything in the future. Demise has to exist for the beginning of Skyward Sword to happen. So there has to be a split. The Master Sword was created using the flames, if it can be made in Skyward Sword, surely it can be made again in a separate timeline, under different circumstances, we just wouldn't know those new circumstances with a timeline split?

    I thought the timeline connected back instead of just ending, like the end of a dragonbreak. A dragonbreak is when a timeline is split, the and of a dragonbreak is when the timelines connect again. Also, I love how much the game devs (and the players) love Mipha and they put her theme in almost everything zora related now lol
    Edit: So I think that TOTK is the end of the timeline with ganondorf, which I think is the main villain of the timeline, is not sealed away but uhhh, fully dealt with I say. So the games after TOTK is in a new timeline. If I'm right then every timeline would have a main villian that will not be sealed but killed at the end of the timeline.
    Another one is that before BOTW takes place, the events from the start of the timeline replay itself, which is the events that happen in the TOTK memories. I dont really know about this one, but its another I thought of.

    I am convinced that Zelda possesses the complete triforce. Aside from literally showing us it at the end of botw, she consistently demonstrates the three aspects in all of her appearances and in totk, her courage and overwhelming power are on full display with her courageous sacrifice to empower the master sword. Additionally, several of her actions could be viewed as wishing for something to happen and it coming true. She wished to protect link during the calamity and her power awoke, for instance. This could also explain why she struggles with her power, as without training she can only tap into it under certain conditions.

    I think, in accordance with this separate timeline theory, hylia bestowed the triforce upon her chosen reincarnation, Zelda, and due to the lack of need for it except during the calamity, no one really understood that Zelda held all three pieces, not even herself. Ganondorf became focused on the secret stones, and Zelda never really had to use it. It still exists, just unseen and more a symbol and myth than a fact.
    I think a more interesting idea is: Where did the master sword come from if this game isn’t directly related to skyward sword? The Goddess Sword was created by Hylia, but Link had to forge the Master Sword, so how does it exist in a different timeline, including the sword spirit Fi, if a previous Link never existed to do that?

    You can clearly see in the picture when it is found on totk that it is chipped and is on the 2nd upgrade from SS. It appears as if something happened around that time that caused a 2nd timeline for SS to occur just for botw and totk. Not to mention, it seems it never made it to become the Master Sword.
    Not to mention, I find it really odd that oot kokiri forest is not in sync location with totk as well as the ToT in Hyrule Kingdom Town. Kokiri Forest is missing from its SE position and is considered to be in the North.

    My theory of why Ganondorf might’ve known Link and the master sword, even before Zelda’s time travel, is that Ganondorf channeled his malice into the world, and that became his eyes, just like Zelda navigating through the kingdom’s skies for millennia, the demon king saw the kingdom whenever he had the chance to emerge. And the ancient hero this time, Link, with the help of the divine beasts and the princess, defeated him. This again happened in the original BOTW timeline, but this time he had learned and controlled the sheikah technology, defeating the hero. This way, he would know about all of them once he was freed from Rauru’s sealing, and would for the first time, face against the master sword, exhausted from its recent usage against calamity.

    To me it makes the most sense if this is one or all of the existing timelines, just set so far into the future that there has been enough time for all of the games to happen again Hyrule to fall multiple times and a lot of the ancient history to fall into myth or be lost. This way you can have Rauru establsihing a new kingdom, references to several timelines, no inconsistencies in the Gerudos understanding of Ganon and finally have a single streamlined timeline. This all assumes that at the very least hundreds of thousands, if not millions of years have passed sice the last game in all timelines, and there was no new Ganondorf between the imprisoning war and the end of TOTK. Possible I missed something, feel free to point anything out.

    I like to think Age of Calamity was Link's coma fantasy while he slept for 100 years. That explains away some inconsistencies. And maybe things like Astor (I forget, is that his name?) is Link's subconscious filling in knowledge gaps like who was the prophet that warned them of all this? And the more human form of Calamity Ganon at the end was a premonition of the malice's origins. Putting AoC as a dream makes the game fit nicely into the timeline without mucking anything up.

    With the exception of the direct sequels, trying to connect all the Zelda games together was a mistake.
    Mostly due to the changing geography of each title's Hyrule and the constant changing of the lore.
    Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess all have the same Ganondorf but he looks different in all three games.
    I like how Tears of the Kingdom includes him as the source of Calamity Ganon but this backstory only works in this game as it is a retcon to his character in OoT.

    I believe there could be a new timeline branching off of Skyward Sword. The sequence of events goes like this:
    SS -> ToTK (past) -> AoC (champions lose) -> BoTW -> ToTK (present)
    The time of Rauru, Sonia, and Ganondorf is parallel to the events of OoT. I’m guessing Rauru and Sonia name their child Zelda, and another mixed Zonai child is named Link and lives in the Faron Region in the Zonai Ruins. This time period is also the origin of the Sheikah Tribe, where they start to develop their own technology based off of the Zonai’s. A Sheikah member takes Zelda away to a safer place while the Imprisoning War occurs, and the plan to stop the resurrected Ganondorf is set in motion by the Ancient Hylians, the Sheikah, and the Sages.
    The first calamity occurs and the Ancient Hero Link uses the Master Sword to seal Calamity Ganon after the Sheikah weaken it with the Divine Beasts. The Sages of ToTK become the Champions that pilot the first Divine Beasts.
    Then the plot of AoC, BoTW, and ToTK happen. Afterwards, I’m guessing we’re going to get a Zelda game that takes place in lands beyond Hyrule, because distant lands are referenced by characters like Yona and Cece. The next game will either parallel Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, or somehow both games.

    > the first arrival of the Zonai from the heavens, including apparently an "ancient hero", in TotK = alt version of the events of Skyward Sword;
    > the Imprisoning War from TotK = alt version of Ocarina of Time = alt version of Imprisoning War from LttP backstory = alt version of the failed execution in Twilight Princess;
    > Hell, let's go even further, BotW = alt version original Zelda (old Impa guides Link in a devastated Hyrule to defeat a pig demon Ganon and rescue Zelda);
    > TotK = alt version of Zelda II (same Link, Zelda is sleeping for millennia, Ganon is being revived).

    the past of totk most likely takes place after all three timelines. sure, the kingdom of hyrule was said to be founded during this period, and if this takes place after all three timelines hyrule should already exist. but the kingdom of hyrule has been destroyed and risen again many times, and since the land that rauru and sonia lived in was already called hyrule ( I think), when they founded a new kingdom, they called it hyrule kingdom. so this is a new ganondorf not seen in any past games, and this happens after all the timelines, maybe at the point when they all become the same. as noted in a video by a channel called "Thinking at Max Volume", perhaps the moment where zelda arrives in the past is when the timelines become one. they were split by the the sage of time zelda in ocarina of time, and were brought together by the sage of time zelda when she arrives in the past.

    The only logical thing I can think of at this point is that there was some type of convergence event. There are elements, names and equipment from all 3 timelines. You could say they just said screw it, new reality, but they kept things like the big goron sword and fierce deity stuff. My theory is that whatever merged the time lines also "destroyed" the triforce. We know of 9 secret stone (10 due time travel and 2 of Rarau's being in the past at the same time) but 6 from the sages and 3 from dragons. If the triforce from all 3 lines ended up in one timeline and became the secret stones, the number would add up.

    Some corrections to your video:
    This Ganondorf could very easily be a reincarnation, as the Ganondorf from Four Swords Adventures is a reincarnation of Ganondorf after the events of Twilight Princess.
    The Gerudo do appear after Ocarina of Time, as they appear in Four Swords Adventures.
    As seen in the Oracle games and stated by Yona, Zora exist in many tribes across the world so it is completely believable that some Zora just didn't evolve into Rito.
    Lanayru is alive after you heal him of his illness. Yes he only appears in the past for his minigame, but when link performs the full Song of the Hero in the present all three dragons join him and sing.
    Vaati is not an incarnation of Demise's hatred, that is a fan theory that has just been continued to be proven wrong. Ganon is the only reincarnation of Demise's hatred that has been confirmed and his design in ToTK shows that greatly.
    Those nitpicks aside, I agree a lot with your video. Personally I think sometime before BOTW the timelines converged in an event similar to a dragon break (Elder Scrolls concept) which then leads to the refounding of Hyrule that we see in ToTK. It's not like we haven't seen Hyrule get refounded before, it's a big part of Spirit Tracks after all. Zelda games also love to use the idea of time repeating itself and I think that's what happening in the new combined timeline. We can even see it parallel the lore to some of the first games in their respective timelines. Hylia descending down with the Triforce is like the Zonai (descendants of Gods) descending down with the secret stones (artifacts made by Gods, like the Triforce), the the two imprisoning wars sharing very similar circumstances, ect. I believe this is where the Ouroboros symbolism comes into play. It's trying to tell the player that this is a new history and direction for the franchise that's based off of the past, but the past is also still intact and still canon.
    To recap, I believe an event similar to a dragon break caused the timelines to merge and the The Kingdom of Hyrule was refounded. The timeline going forward after that is BotW and ToTK, but with a timeline split that leads into AoC.

      @@raskolnikov6443 I would as the developers went out of their way to tell the audience that they should play this game before ToTK releases and how it's a side piece for both BoTW and ToTK. AoC also explains in game how it fits into the canon and even sets up events for characters in ToTK. For example, Tulin's character arc started in AoC and finding out that he has wind abilities like Revalia was revealed in AoC too. ToTK also references AoC and has gameplay elements from it too. In my opinion it's a little silly to not consider it canon.

      @JetstreamFil  Před 10 měsíci +3

      Yeah for some reason the text explaining Four Swords/Twilight Princess didn't render in and I wasn't gonna re-render lol but yeah you're correct on that, as for Yona, it's correct that they can come from other tribes around Hyrule, it's not the first time in the series where the Zoras have migrated elsewhere but in the original timeline all Zoras evolved into Rito as of Wind Waker
      Aonuma has confirmed this: "We created the Rito as the evolved form of the Zora that appeared in "Ocarina of Time" and the Koroks as what the Kokiri became once they left the forest. They appear different, but they have inherited their blood." - Zelda Box (Enterbrain) page 29
      Incarnation can be interpreted in a few ways but the black and white of my interpretation is it's just the villain of the current game that is the incarnation of Demise's hatred
      Also thank you for the comment, it was a nice read :)

    To me it seems clear that BotW & TotK treat all other games as legends. It seems that over the 10,000+ years that the Calamity Timeline takes place the true history of Hyrule had become muddled and mixed with myth in order to create the legends we play through throughout the various Legend of Zelda games. This isn't to suggest that the events of those games did not happen, only that the games represent a distorted version of whatever the true history is. I belive this is called the Legend Theory.
    Also, given that the ancient sages wore animal masks that match the animals the devine beasts are modeled after, that this means the devine beasts would have also been named after the ancient sages.

We've seen in Wind Waker that the goddesses don't have any issues destroying Hyrule if needed, so maybe at some point Hyrule had to get destroyed and refounded by the zonai, leading to no one really knowing Ganondorf, and this being a new one since in every timeline he's dead to my knowledge. The Rito and Zora existing can also be explained through this, being that over time as Hyrule returned to normal, the Rito slowly turned back into the Zora, but some went off to an area where being a Rito was just better.

    I believe that ToTk past happens long after the end of either the adult or child timelines.
    Both timelines end with Ganondorf killed for good by Link, bringing Hyrule to peace at last in either timeline. Some time after. Hyrule or New Hyrule, along with Termina, are destroyed in some great fallout like maybe Majora got what it wanted and destroyed the planet with the moon, or Link fails in Spirit Tracks and the demons destroy New Hyrule. Thousands of years pass, and the history is erased, merging back the two timelines.
    At this point, the Zonai are brought into the world by Din, Nayru, and Farosh, who then, to keep a direct watch over Hyrule instead of Hylia, draconify. Events similar to Skyward Sword happen, and the Zonai are launched from Hyrule, where the barbarian hylians vanish and the Hylians, Gorons, Rito, Zora, and Gerudo emerge, bringing back Demises curse in Ganondorf's reincarnation and the Zonai return to Hyrule. From there, we know the rest. But hey, that's just a theory, a GAME THEORY.

We were actually told back in Botw by the Hylia Statues that the Dragons where originally Spirits, and do in fact protect the three Sacred Springs (They're not wandering aimlessly). They're more akin to the Satori or the Koroks.
    There's a lot of speculation that the 3 Spring Dragons were originally Zonai, based off what Mineru says in one of the cutscenes. However, this would be actively retconning information we already learned in Botw.

    I've always headcanoned that what we are seeing in the Zelda games isn't a coherent timeline, but the myth cycle of some hypothetical Hyrule that we don't get to see. The "timeline split" after the events of the Ocarina of Time is really essentially a denominational split representing where their myth cycles diverge.
    You have one denomination that thinks the hero was defeated, but will return one day. Another that think he was victorious, but Ganon's damage was still done (the adult timeline). And another that think he was completely victorious, standing outside time. I think Majora's Mask is especially interesting when looked at through this perspective, as Link's weird journey where he solves every problem in a small town, including ones that contradict others or would be undone by subsequent time jumps, functions rather well as a statement against those who would question the Hero of Time's mastery over Ganondorf with something so basic as temporal paradoxes.
    I feel like TotK sort of validates this way of looking at the games. This is, perhaps, that "real Hyrule" I imagined behind the other games. Zelda went back in time and helped a mysterious people from the sky seal Ganondorf. She told everyone that a hero named Link would one day destroy Ganon once and for all before transforming into an immortal dragon (entities that seem to receive a sort of religious reverence by later people). Over time, as Ganondorf manages to send out his malice over and over again in the form of Calamities, Zelda's "prophecy" and the history behind it morph and mutate. The Zonai become ancient Hylians. Ganondorf splits into the human Ganondorf and the godlike Demise. The events of the Imprisoning War become the events of The Ocarina of Time and, for the adult timeline denomination, Twilight Princess. None of this ever actually involved Link traveling through time, but the reality, that Zelda came from the future to seal Ganondorf and help Link destroy him once and for all in the future, only got preserved as a general knowledge that some wibbly wobbly timey wimeyness was involved here.
    Perhaps heroes who stop the calamity are automatically assumed to be reincarnations of Link, and assigned the name when written about later in accounts that slowly become equally mythologized. Likewise, Zelda becomes a popular name in memory of our Zelda's sacrifice, which gets preserved as the tradition spoken of in Zelda 2. None of those other Links were reincarnations. Neither this Zelda nor the others were incarnations of Hylia. There was no Demise. It was always just this Link and Zelda and Ganondorf. Skyloft was always just the Sky Islands. The Twilight/Dark world/Lowrule were always just the depths.

    I think that all of the timelines had some kind of convergence event that led to botw and then totk and totk than cycles back into skyward sword and restarts. That’s why the two games have things from all timelines.

      that wouldn't make much sense if at the end of Skyward Sword, the Skyloftians came down to the surface and founded Hyrule and at the same time the Zonai came down from the sky and founded Hyrule with the Hylians - they're separate timelines

    My head canon is that this is a new timeline as well, but slightly different. I think that the split that caused the new timeline happened at the end of Skyward Sword. In the final hour or so of Skyward Sword, Link brings down the Isle of the Goddess to kill Demise (The Imprisoned), but then has to chase Ghirahim to the past, where he kills Demise once and for all. I believe that the split in the timeline that creates Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom takes place when Link travels back in time, as now that the surface is safe a lot earlier than it was in the original timeline, the people of Skyloft can descend. Following this, the Zonai descend, then almost go extinct, Rauru meets Sonia and establish the Royal Family, and then the events of Tears of the Kingdoms memories take place. (A few things that I'd like to add that I can't figure out how without just outright saying them are: the names of the sages in Totk are the same as the Divine Beasts from botw, the ancient hero (the one we see in the botw tapestry and the totk shrine completion armour) is a descendent of Rauru and Sonia, which explains why it looks more hylian than zonai, also explaining how Zelda and Sonia have a blood connection).

    What if somebody wished on the triforce something that took it out of the equation while keeping its world sustaining power intact. In essence rewriting the world and history to something very similar but not exactly what we've known up until now. Also as for the Rito/Zora thing, it can be possible if the species branched. Some stayed as Zora while some became rito. It has happened before after all with River Zora and the regular Zora

      if I had to guess, the Master Sword may have been with Link around AoC's timeframe and stuck with him in BoTW's timeframe but when it was set back in ToTK, perhaps the Light Dragon at that moment then had it appear on her head since Zelda went back in time and made the choice of eating the secret stone
      tbh I think this is up to the player's interpretation, like, it's just magic lol

    At this point it could be a new timeline.
    I see it as BOTW and TOFK being so far ahead. To the point that Hyrule was destroid and rebuild over and over in a endless cicle
    Rauru was the first king and founder of THIS Hyrule. But i belive there have been many more before him.
    I also find it interesting the lack of Triforce, just a wild guess but its possible the triforce was forgotten? In Wind Waker the king in the end wished for Hyrule to be washed away, i wonder if its possible THAT caused the legend of the triforce to be forgotten even by the royal family.

    My main hypothesis is that the events of Hyrule Warriors 1 created so many abberant timeline splits that TotK could have started from any of them - a sort of time crash that necessitates a hard reboot.
    Also it explains the large lack of a Triforce as it would be guarded by the Descendants of Cia and / or Lana, who know not to get involved.

    My theory is that the fallen timeline wasnt made in ocarina of time but in skyward sword due to the defeat of demise in the past.
    After defiting demise in the past and returning to the present the the plan to sending hyrule to the sky is never needed the zonai descend on the earth to help hyla and we get tears of the kingdom past, then all of the fallen timeline (in wich we dont see ganondorf only ganon) and then long time after that breath of the wild and tears of the kingdom.
    Meanwhile the one that go to the present result in the previous timeline leading to OOT, adult and child timeline.

    The Triforce is actually seen once on TotK on the Molduga horde memory. When Rauru, Sonia and Zelda unleash the light beam, you can see the Triforce is shown right before the beam is released. It first appear with each triangle upside down and forming the triforce right at the beam's release. It is not shown like it appears on BotW, but still it is a glimpse of it.

    • @maiconmartins3789
      @maiconmartins3789 Před 10 měsíci

      To be very honest, I think this game is actually a soft reboot of the series, being all other games "a Legend" which we played as the legends were told and not how it actually happened. Or this or Nintendo needs to explain the creation of the new Hyrule for this story to make sense after the 3 timelines... Explanation such as Wind Waker, they could tell the land was destroyed and buried into the depths, and the new Hyrule has risen to the surface. The Dephs could then be the Hyrule from past games, fully destroyed. Much later then, discoreved by the new people with only zonaites remained to be explored. Then, when Zonai descends to the surface, there is the new hyrule to be founded. So this could be where we are at on ToTk.

    What I think is that Hyrule warriors , the game that supposedly is NOT cannon, is actually cannon. For those who haven't played that game basically some 4th dimensional goddess wanted to hook up with link but got kinda jealous of Zelda, because of that she (the goddess) got split into 2, one good one bad, and the bad one brings in different parts of different link timelines

  • @Tkscz
    @Tkscz Před 10 měsíci

    I still theorize that at some point in the split time lines, all three of them brought the Triforce back together, causing the split timelines to become one once again. Thus explaining why it seems like the history of all previous timelines exist in BotW and TotK. Technically making it a new timeline.

    • @AarturoSc
      @AarturoSc Před 9 měsíci

      Why? What could possibly be gained from merging what are effectively different universes?! From the point of view for the people of each reality ABSOLUTELY nothing! Not to mention one of the timelines in the franchise isn’t even a split timeline in the same context as the ones in OoT, but rather a parallel universe where Link just died rather than save Hyrule and being sent to the past.

    • @AarturoSc
