Skip acts like he is the keeper of all our sports opinions for all time. He knows that ring in the bubble wasn’t a fluke but he also knows Lebron’s body of work and achievements have surpassed most of the other greats that Skip has above Lebron all time (Bird, Kobe, Duncan, Shaq, Magic, Kareem, Russell). I won’t list MJ because that’s the only player I agree with being above Lebron. Skip has talked himself into a corner with Lebron. He dug in too soon in Lebron’s career by saying “he won’t or can’t do this” because he wanted to be ahead of everyone else with that take and prolly figured Lebron would at least be fading in ability by now. He knows that MJ and Lebron are the only two players to have at least 4 finals MVPs. For me, these criteria aren’t mentioned enough in the GOAT discussions:
1) Getting to the finals is a positive on anyone’s resume. Win or loss. Especially if that player has multiple rings.
2) The amount of finals MVP’s is more important than Skip will tell you. It tells us how many times he was THE reason his team won the championship. It’s the real reason why Skip was the only one making the bogus case for Kyrie in 2016. For me, Finals MVP’s are more important than the Finals record. We honestly should be impressed that a guy has 4 rings, 4 finals MVP’s, and 10 Finals appearance. As opposed to ignoring all of that to just focus on his 6 Finals losses. If that isn’t hating, I don’t know what is.
3) This one is mentioned a lot but Skip is desperately trying to brainwash fans into actually thinking that being able to play longer at a high level is meaningless to a players legacy. Longevity is a good thing for all players.
4) How good of a coach or coaches they had throughout their career. If MJ, Shaq, Kobe, Duncan, Kareem, or Magic can have all time great coaches, so can Lebron.
Skip is becoming a cancer for sports. Trying to manipulate everyone’s minds. Nobody can have their own opinion, huh?

Really, Key? I can think of many players when speaking about “Hype” or whatever. Luka is not one of them. There is ZERO “hype” or whatever he tried to imply. To say he’s just hype, on a sports talkshow, is nuts. His numbers wouldn’t indicate any kind of “hype”, nor do numbers lie. ABSURD numbers and milestones/accolades.
Rather, what it does show and what I see is a generational talent, HOF talent. Numbers aren’t “hype”, they’re facts. His style of play, the way he moves around on the court, his flow.. is beautiful ball, man. You can’t refute that.

They call it "maintenance rest", that is unheard of back then when players were only making a fraction of what these players make today. It's mostly because team owners want to protect their investments in overpaid players, That's the real reason why hardly anyone plays 82 games anymore, it's not really injuries like what they want you to believe. Thats only true maybe half the time, if that. But in Kawhi's case, it's definitely injuries. He actually blew my expectations this season by playing 60 plus games , I had him playing less than that to be honest.
