    I just checked the price on Amazon,can‘t believe it only $189 after using coupon and discount code.😂

    I just checked your amazon link and the price is now $270.00. With the 4% discount the price is about $260. I guess amazon saw your video and raised the price. Great video!

    The BMS brand looks like Daly, it really looks alike.

      Yes. Same color scheme. I'm just surprised it doesn't say "Daly" in English anywhere. Thanks for the comment.

    Enjoy your battery tests and breakdowns. Such a pity to destroy a free gift but you can always utilise the individual cells to build your own 12-48v system with better BMS. Pity we dont get the same variety or cheap prices as you guys get in the States. Cheers from Oz.

      I bet your overseas shipping costs are high. Bummer. I really don't like tearing apart batteries. They are so useful and you can do plenty of testing without a teardown.

    Is not the foam block covering much of the bms' heat sink a worry?
    As always, Thanks for the test!

      @OffGridBasement  Před 6 měsíci

      Not really. The wiring gets hotter than the actual BMS and the foam can withstand plenty of heat. Thanks!

    A reviewer said that changing maybe a problem as the max input charge is only 2.4 amps.
    Not good if your main charging is from solar

      This reviewer must be referring to a battery with a lower amp hour capacity. 8 to 10ah possibly. Thanks for the comment.

    That was fascinating to a novice who knows nothing about what batteries are like inside the case. It's unfortunate that you had to ruin the case. Aren't most cases made to be opened? Thank you for the video and the review.
    PS. Glad you found a use for the griddles. 😅

      The Griddler does come in handy! Most batteries are waterproof so they are sealed. Thanks for the comment!

    Not a bad budget battery,my complaint would be the bms not keeping the cells balanced.have one now for 24v setup,had to add an active balancer to keep cells in balanced.

    • @OffGridBasement
      @OffGridBasement  Před 6 měsíci +1

      I believe it might have a passive balancer in the BMS, but it would be small amount of Amps.. Not enough to keep up. I also bought a 5A active balancer for my 180ah 24v battery build and it works great!

    Isn't 9V a bit low for a cutoff? The cabling might have been hotter if it was still in the case. I would think those should be 1/0 cables minimum. Even though the insulation can handle the temperature, those high temps indicate resistance, and that will cause a voltage drop. The wires would be ok for about a 50A draw though. Two batteries in parallel should be fine. Was there a recommended max sustained amp draw? The fact that there was no information available for those cells suggests that those are grade B cells. So, buyers should expect the limitations of such. The expense is mostly in the cells, so cheap cells makes a low price, even though the rest of the build quality might be fine. I wouldn't count on the battery for heavy usage or frequent cycling, but it could be fine for light or occasional use, like to cover for infrequent power outages, or maybe for a trolling motor used a dozen times a year. I think you could tape that case back together and use the battery just fine. I enjoyed the teardown. Thanks. 👍
    The Amazon web site claims EV-grade cells. I don't think so.

      I did a 9v cutoff in my test to ensure the BMS would turn off due to low cell voltage. I wanted to make sure I squeezed out all the capacity in the test. I could've set the test to cutoff @ 9.5v and still had the same results.
      I believe the cells are grade A since it did pull full capacity. B Grade cells wouldn't get pass 100ah. The manufacture of the cells might not have there info on the LifePoQR battery App Database quite yet. Thanks for the comment!

      @@OffGridBasement I think I was wondering why the BMS didn't intervene.

    Hope ypu get a Sodium battery soon. Oh God solar debate rages on , I can mot seem to get anyone to issie a 30 dollar certificate needed to obtain tje Export tariff. Installers only want to 6000 dollar install , 😅

      Sodium Batteries would be something different. Bummer about the installers not wanting smaller jobs. Hope you get some good news soon.

      I heard they arr thinking of running 6 Cables From New York to England. Cheaper than 6 Neuclear power stations. Lol Goverment would rather do that than let DIY gerks onto the grid. No aftermaket installation certificates in near future.

    9v discharge cutoff is too low, that's below the 2.5v/cell. I'd onl;y discharge to about 11v, which also impacts your capacity test numbers. That internal wiring is too small for 100A.
