Thank you hickok for being with us on the youtube channel for more than a decade now. You gave this generation information about firearms, while remaining unbiased. Thank you
Maus Hickok45 is the best series!
Maus agree
The sound when reaching into a bowl of bullets. There's nothing else like it.
oh, no! he has a high capacity semi full automatic assault revolver!!
Lol 🤣 You left "noxious black powder" out of the description! 🤣😂
@@lorenwegele4250 "African American powder" dont be racist n sheeit
ben brenn „powders of color“
Remember he said that it was shooting "left"!
"fully semi automatic". Some "general" from the military said that quote on cnn
I love my old Colt but it is a third generation 45. These older ones are even more beautiful. Thanks
Thanks for sharing the Colt again, Mr Hickok. It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos.
I inherited one from my great grandfather. He was a U.S. Cavalry officer way back when. I use a slightly light load of "TrailBoss". Works just fine, no problems. I had the revolver X-rayed while in the service, and since then a couple times, just to check it's structural integrity. The modern black powder substitute has not caused any problems, nor created any stress fractures.
That’s a magnificent piece. All your SAA’s are real treasures.
The classics never go out of style. Even in a cartridge gun black powder still makes the piece very dirty after a spell. By far I would have to say that the colt 1873 saa revolver calvary model is my favorite pistol of all time. My papaw had one and its the first pistol I ever shot when I was 12 years old. Until I was 12 I was only allowed to shoot .22 rifle and that I did since I was 7 but at age 12 I finally got to shoot my papaw's classic black powder muzzle loaders and black powder cartridge guns like his Enfield rifled musket and his brown bess and his .45-70 springfield trap door carbine and his 10 gauge single barrel parker shotgun aswell as his classic smokeless guns like his .30-40 Krag and his 1903 springfield .3006 and his M1 garand and his M1911 colt .45 acp and his model 1892 double action colt .38 and watching your videos brings back alot of childhood memories
Hello, am a British viewer! I really love this channel keep it up like seriously, I love learning about the different weapons and how they work.
In uk general public dont understand guns they think only bad people have them or interested in them such misunderstanding
A beauty just the way it is. Like a good quarter horse, it proudly earned every bump and bruise.
Thanks for showing it to us again Hickok45. I love all of your videos but you're right, this one is special.
no better day than waking and seeing a NEW hickok45 video... Keep up the great work!
Imagine the history behind some of the firearms you have held who owned them and in cases like this were they used in a gun fight. Very cool.
Some of my favorite video's. Thanks Hickok!! Love the history!!!!!
You are much appreciated, Hickok45. Merry Christmas to you and the family!
Great stuff Hickok as usual, love the closeups of the colts.
It's a little scary how much we have in common with revolvers, lever guns and old war horses. I truly enjoy what you do and have for many years. Keep em comin!
Always love seeing your Colt SAA's !
when i picture a revolver this is what springs to mind thanks hickok45.
Thanks for sharing it again!
Beautiful SAA hickok45! Keep up the awesome work!!
I'm a cowboy dime novelist reader; I know most is fiction but sometimes the authors mix fiction with facts and they yarn a good story. Hickok and son displaying those historic firearms make the stories even better.
Same here
I really do like this guy, i mean you can clearly see he is doing this for fun. Not like all other video vloggers and stuff.
You are right. When I see that 1883 Colt I do think about the people that have had it in their hands, Who they were and how many lives it may have saved or wild game it made dinner for some. That is such a beautiful piece of history. Thank you for the look back in time!
This video has a special place with me since I was in the Cavalry myself. The Cavalry is dying out, the job being replaced by drones. However our legacy will never be forgotten.
Gotta love a single action. Colts,Old Vaqueros and Blackhawks. Thats a nice one. But that second gen makes me think I need another Colt. I just would like for them to be not so d**n pricey. Thanks for all you do,guys.
One of my most favorite guns... Amazing!
Colt SAA, S&W Model 10, Glock 17 and Browning High Power. Hand guns that changed the world. Awesome video on an incredible firearm!
Thanks for making youtube a better place hickok45 :)
I hope next year will keep making these amazing videos Hickok45
Loved the part at the end, thanks John.
Such a beautiful Gun. I like the old guns. It's 136yrs older than me. It's been a privilege to watch you HICKOCK45 👍 👊 Good times. Good Job 👍 😉
Thanks for sharing Hickok!
Thank you for sharing!!! Happy Thanksgiving Hickok and family!!! Love your channel!!!😀❤️😀
She shoots beautiful, thanks for the video!
I love the old ammo and boxes from this period as well. Of course you’d never shoot the old boxed ammo because of its collector value, but the box art and history is a wonderful addition to the Gen one Colt enthusiasts’ collection.
Thanks for sharing this video and shooting that beautiful Calvary model you have there. Nice looking reproduction holster too!!
Modern 45 Colt ammo is expensive too but it sure is fun to shoot.
Thank you for sharing and posting this enjoyable video.
Kind Regards,
Pat
I love seeing these old guns!
A beautiful classic.
Another good video never get bored watching them
Ole hickok45 is a real Shooter, thanks for sharing
Colt SAA Revolver, a Winchester 1886 and a Poncho is everything a real Cowboy needs^^
So glad to see the twist draw right off the line.
Another beautiful SAA fired by a man who loves the firearm I sure Hickok spent the whole day on the range 👍
enjoyed it , , , always like to see the old guns come out and play : - )
Thank you for sharing this.
We love you too Hickok45!
Thanks for sharing... I love these guns.
There's nothing quite like shooting black powder firearms on a beautiful fall day! Admittedly mine was a Remington 1858. You brought back a great memory of a friend who passed on a couple of years ago. 😊
Great video, hope you still enjoy making them as much as we enjoy watching them.
Yes, I definitely enjoy it; otherwise, I would not do it. I could be spending all my time sitting on my porch reading Shakespeare and Emerson, which is how I had "thunk" I'd be spending my "retirement" years. But, the guns took over, more or less. :-)
Great video on the Colt SAA revolver
Love the gun I bought a newer version of it not to long ago and it is my favorite firearm out of my collection
Thank you Hickok I like it
I love how the viewers get to see the seasons change in tennessee. SAA's rule. Ballistol is amazing. I use it myself.
Hope that you and your whole family have a great Christmas season!! You look like you have so much fun! Wished I had heard of you when I lived in Mcminnville TN!
I have a newer third gen saa. Beautiful gun. Fantastic case color and an absolute joy to shoot.
Love these old lead flingers. I tend to be drawn toward the obsolete caliber range for some reason. I don't need the challenge, that is for sure.
I have always wanted one you cannot have a complete gun collection without one.
I love your Colt video's...
Great video! Wonderful finish to the Thanksgiving weekend!
Hickok45 is my favorite teacher.......enabler and friend.
Merry Christmas hickok45
I have to try and get myself a deactived one for UK ownership, always been a big fan of the SAA! great vids!
I love a Colt SAA original cavalry. Beautiful gun nice gun. Thanks for the Federal Premium ammunition cartridges smokeless powder. Good shooting.
Appreciate y’all from Texas
Ah what a special video!! Sunny fall day the sound of leaves as you walk leather holster and the smell of black powder in the air!!! That Colt is beautiful. Mr Hickok 45 Sir think you could get a 1875 Remington from buds and do a video of it? I have just added a reproduction of one from Uberti and I think your views may enjoy the differences between a Colt and the history of the 1875 outlaw. Thank you and John for all your hard work, and happy holidays
Best gun reviewer of all times
I would say that General Pershing may have carried one of these Colts when he was in the Calvary and possibly later in his military career. Great Video As Always.
Love all you do Hickock45! Beatiful Colt you got there! Gotten lots of good stuff and entertainment from all your videos! Only thing I can't do is load only 5 rounds in an SAA.... I just can't do it! LOL - As long as you're safe I think it's fine, and I'm not judging, 5 is fine for probly you and a lot of others but I just can't short the number of rounds. If I were to ever carry one it'd be a new replica with a transfer bar, for sure, BUT when out having fun I gotta load what it's called, a "Six Shooter!" - Love ya Hickock45, thanks for all you do!
I'd give anything to own a saa, they are absolutely beautiful
Yes nothing better to watch on Sunday morning than a real Colt SAA being fired thank you hickok45 love that 1956 she’s a bute
Good morning, Hickok
Hickok, I think it's obvious that you love history when you postulate who may of owned the gun and that he couldn't possibly believe that it would mean so much to someone a hundred and thirty some odd years later. Gives the revolver substance.
What a great video.
Another great video. You are my "go to" gun channel when i'm researching guns.Just a note, on a video you made which included a Uberti 45 (I think) you had one that just made 3 clicks, I have a similar one made by Cimarron that makes 4 clicks. Mine also has beautiful case hardening and a really nice grip. Not sure why the difference. Any way, just passing that along. Take care and keep these great videos coming!
Original condition is the best kind of beauty. The nicks and dings show alot of history that's amazing to think about. Also looks like it was used for pounding in the occasional nail.
Putting up "Wanted!" posters don't you know! 😁
@@lorenwegele4250 I wouldn't doubt it!
Very nice piece of History... I Love it 🤗👍
I didn't even know this pistol existed. Happy Thanksgiving Hicock! 😋
I think your vids are a "not go" only for people that hate guns to the highest level or
have any trauma. Cuz if you just dont like it or have just a small hate, your vids are really friendly and
instructional.
I love 19th century revolvers
Always a pleasure 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Love colt
Amazing
Love your videos !! Would love to see a video of you shooting a new Colt Combat Elite Govt .. most guns I have bought over the years were only bought after seeing them in action on the Hickock range .. keep it the great work !!
Meant to say keep up the great work .. regards long time Australian fan
So cool!
"Great gun for defense." I'm dead. 😸 It pays to watch till the end.
Nice to see the old hoglegs. John, nice job nailing de fense (sic).
😉👍 thats a Beautiful revolver
That is such a wonderful firearm. There was a shop in Denver that had 5 consecutive serial number engraved Colt single actions in thier display. They had a full shop and a room of the owners collection of pre 1900 firearms. I worked at a competitor gun shop. Matter of fact my boss Len Goldman has the second largest antique Marlin collection in the world. The shop is the Firing line gun shop and range. I worked there from 1998 to 2002. We were the importer for Renato Gamba shotguns for the USA. I was always going to the airport to pick up his clients. They would spend up to $250,000 per shotgun. He is a interesting guy and he always has really nice antique firearms. That's where most of my check went. I had a thing for old Mausers. Well anything turn of the century. You should check them out. In sure he knows who you are. Happy Shooting
I read somewhere that the holsters were designed like that because the saber was considered the primary weapon, and was worn on the left hip. If you needed the pistol, it was drawn in crossdraw fashion with the left hand.
I imagine you would love to see the whole history of that old colt.
Ultra cool
These are some very pretty guns. I'm hoping in the new year to get my first gun. I'm Canadian, so I can't get pistols for another year, but it's a start.
My dream firearm. Greetings from Arkansas sir!
😲😲😲 wow your are real gun master man.
Your are shooting like assault sniper man in mini gun.👍👍👍
Nice vid
The Legend himself
What a pretty peice of history. :3
Best looking hand gun on the planet
Hi,
Another great video. I just love your channel which is fun, éducative and passionate.
I live in France and I’m so glad to understand quite well English (I’d rather say American due to my life experience), so that I can follow you. My passion is « guns of the old west »...
I own several classic BP revolvers (class D), for we can (still...) acquire them over here without too much hassle. Just ID check and being a local resident.
I am waiting for the administrative approval to get two Uberti replica : one SAA and one Schofield. In France, you can own up to 12 class B and C weapons (fully automatic ones - class A - are forbidden), after a thorough administrative check (mental and physical health check and approval, plus no police record).
You two keep going 👍👍
Your English is excellent! Enjoy your guns; the Uberties are very well made firearms.
Dale Fry I’ll passionately work at it ! 😀.
Thanks.
those leaves are quite crunchy XD, love it. haha
very cool
