2025: The Future of Medical Communications

Welcome to this visual journey on the future of medical communications. How will our field change in the next five years, and what are the skills needed to lead that transformation? In collaboration with the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals and Making Ideas Visible, we brought our vision of medical communications in 2025 to life on canvas.
In the weeks leading up to the Virtual 16th Annual Meeting of ISMPP, we gathered insights from society leaders and members to identify key themes and help the graphic facilitator formulate this visual journey.
A few areas that will be central to the future of our profession include digital transformation, broader patient and stakeholder engagement, multi-channel communications, and dissemination trends including open access and changing content formats.
Our role as medical communicators is changing. We can't wait to see how our profession evolves in the years to come!
