When I had afternoon tea in London, I was actually blown away by how good the sandwiches were. It was my first time trying coronation chicken, for one thing. I am an afternoon tea fan for life!
@@lolsaXx definitely pricey, but I just saved for the entire trip. I just put aside a little bit of money for as long as it takes to save for things I wouldn’t normally be able to afford.
Thats afternoon tea which is served on a low table, from 3-5 pm mostly for the privileged class. High Tea is the middle/working class tea served later after their work hours consisting of meat pies and heavier dishes and lighter tea on a higher table.
My Afternoon Tea 🫖 is a Beach 🏖️ Club Sandwich 🥪 from Jimmy John’s in Hastings, Michigan. They cut it into four slices and I bring my own iced tea ☕️ with Fresh Mint , 🍃orange🍊 peels. Especially during these hot, humid summers. 🌴 🏝️ $9.97 instead of $97.00! 😊
My late grandfather used to stay at the Dorchester when he was on business trips, so seeing this cute video made me smile as it reminded me of him😊 If you ever go to Yorkshire I'd recommend Betty's Tea Rooms, it's steeped in history, has a Victorian style shop attached, and the prices are much more favourable than anything in London, and of comparable quality. It all looks super yummy though and hope you all had a nice time there ❤
Truth be told im more of a countryside afternoon tea kinda guy, less pomp more rustic more relaxed atmosphere and you get local varieties sometimes like local jams or honeys sometimes a chutney!
I've been English for all of my 41 years and I've never ever had afternoon tea nor has anyone I know. I think it went out with Edwardian/ George V times and is only still done by upper middle and upper classes. Maybe for some people as a birthday/treat but extremely encouraged and overpriced for tourists who think it's an English tradition that everyone does!
@@scholasticbookfair. In America? I have relatives there. My nana went there to visit and was chatting to a stranger who asked if she knew the Queen. My nana has a broad Lancashire accent too. Put it this way- no one in the UK would mistake her as upper class!
@@catsy-Demeter, I love a northern English accent! I used to work as quality assurance in a call center, and one of our reps was from England, but after listening to her calls, I just knew she had to be from northern England, so I messaged her to ask. She was from York. I told her I guessed correctly because I used to watch "Open All Hours" many years ago, so I recognized the accent.
I believe most Americans know that afternoon tea is more of a special occasion treat than an everyday occurrence, although that's more likely due to the fact that since it's a special occasion treat for us, we just assume it's the same for the English. But I just learned that when having scones in Cornwall, the jam goes on first, **then** the cream. Lol
@@kareninalabama it's just not a thing where I live and I only drink tea when I run out of coffee lol. IMO it's something posh people did in the olden days. I think it's more a southern thing for tourists now.
As a dancer who used to perform for Make A Wish at the Dorchestor, please research before you go here. The owner of the dorchestor is heavily homophobic, racist and transphobic. The dance company I used to be a part of would perform there every year. It has only come to light about the owner recently, this has caused Make A Wish to stop performing at the Dorchestor. So just a heads up, research before you go here since the current ownership are kinda scumbags :)
Wow!! My jaw dropped at the price conversion. $184 AUD for that!! I’ve attended many high teas over the years - (very similar to the delicious looking morsels and probably even better offerings than what is presented in the video) - at a cost more than half that price! 🤯

Yes! 🙌
But for £95?? I'm just too poor...

Oh wow! The famous English afternoon tea. Everything looks so fancy and delicious. Would love to get a chance to experience the full package👍👍👍👍👍
It's all very nice but the scones needed whip cream with jam😊
👏🏻👏🏻not just high tea, it’s a kind of traditional culture! wonderful 🥰

Thank you for sharing. The Dorchester Hotel there is so nice. Yes, the Afternoon Tea Service is really nice and worth it.
I would! It looks amazing but it’s also about the experience.
Royalty Tea for the Three Musketeers 🤴🤴🤴🤴☕️☕️☕️
The Ritz, Claridges, The Dorchester, The Savoy. I personally think the first two are the best, but it’s hard to go wrong😉

If any one wants to taste earl grey ice cream, Van Leeuwen sells it and it’s very good
I think the experience is well worth the money everything looks delicious! 😊

Actually it's very well known to not be common among lower classed citizens.

No luckily we live in Sri Lanka and have awesome tea times in 5 star hotels!
Wow, now that is a special tea. It looks so nice. Its good to see you spoiling yourselves.
Looking forward to watching your new videos ! I love them so much , I have watched all 79 videos for only 5 days❤❤❤❤
So many positive comments! Did anyone hear the cost? Those better be damn good sandwiched @ £95 a person!
I was searching for anyone commenting on that 😂 those sandwiches are too small to me for that price
I like that.. The sandwiches sound really good . I drink my tea with a milk or cream also.
It looks delicious 🫖🍵☕️🧋🍰🥐🙋🏻♀️
You guys have the best hair!
I want to go with you next time you go! Looks delicious!
Totally would try ❤

Have a great day guys.
Oooh fancy ✨✨
Absolutely!
Pure class.
Tea break ☕️☕️🎉🎉
It’s expensive, but it sounds and looks good. I’d probably do it just to enjoy the experience.
Exactly! Worth it to try once for the experience
It would be nice for the experience. Everything looked wonderful except for the scones. I hope they tasted better than they looked.

Good thing you’re slim! That was a lot of things to eat
I would try it.
Yes ❤❤
Yes!
英國下午茶,好享受哦😁
Looks good.
Yes i would. 😊
Ive always wanted to do this
Мммммм, приятного аппетита....👍...
I would say that more of a back and forth than an “up and down”
Certified Bridgeton moment
Wow did they order one cake stand each! Joy!
Yes please 🙏
Wonderful
Yum
I would love to go!!! ❤ but next day no carb diet plz 😂
English food isn’t famous for being great but afternoon tea might be an exception (with fish and chips)😅
Crazy Rich Asians
for 95 pounds, as something to try once for fun, it doesn’t seem too expensive tbh. it’s about the experience
£95?
They need to include a woman under the table to justify those prices!
@@adamkane7513🤣😂 I’m taking the fine China dinnerware home with me at that price!
Yummm
wow~
Honestly if in London I only have afternoon tea at claridges
Yes, because I'd only do it once.
Yes
Where is the catering from ?
There's nothing like the English afternoon tea and ESPECIALLY at the Dorchester? 95 quid a person is worth it for sure for the experience.
The food offerings look nice but the price seems too much.
No elbows on the table.
Bring food and drink up to your mouth, don't bend down so your face is inches from your cup or plate.
Wonder how good they do for vegetarians?
わ~~🎶美味しそう👍イギリスでは本当にAfternoon Teaするのね☕お菓子にサンドイッチに、夕飯いらんわーってなりそうだね😂
Who's home were the sandwiches made at?
Yup
This is living

Indian tea is best the tea
I prefer desi tea party. Much better keto options!
For more than $100, I'd b-line it to Scott's, Goldees, Blacks, or Franklin. Since we're talking about culture.🤣
I don't like cow milk I like macadamia nut cream, but yes I would like to try it.
Those scones were tiny. I’d be hungry afterwards. Overpriced like most of central London.
¿Por qué nos antojan así? 🤤😪
Dass was die beste
Süßigkeit am
Tisch war 😅🤌
Dass wart ihr gewesen 🎉
£95 per person isn't that bad, it's like INR 9500. I was expecting this to be like £250 -£300.
That's expensive but definitely tasty.
Wow
👍👍👍👍👍
Ridiculous pricing.
Scones¿??????????
Look okay
£95 for carbs😱
Nah, I'd go to The Ritz in London for tea instead.
也不要错过唐人街上的小笼皇啊🤤🤤🤤
For that price I will go … but I will take the leftover with me home 🤓
The answer is NO.
