I'm 43 as well man. Looking back on our childhood compared to what exists in the world now. I would say the 80s and 90s were a far better time, in so many ways.
Me too. Same exact age as you. Wrestling was better back then. The only corny thing was they would usually have a match with a star and some unknown dude. They would save the big matches. For me the promos were the best part. I just can’t even watch these days, it lacks colorful cartoon like characters that it had back in the day. I’d watch again if it was like this.
I met Jake the Snake at a charity event a few years ago, met Lita and Kurt Angle too. Lita was a sweetheart, Kurt was a nice man and Jake the Snake was the dude.

For whatever reason, I am getting into Macho Man lately- big time. I always dismissed WWF, but I was making a mistake. Jesus Christ it is brilliance. And Macho Man- god damn what a personality.

Vinny Mac needs to step down and enjoy his money and family while they still have the time. I don't want him to die, but he needs to let the "Reigns" go, both figuratively and literally..tired of having Roman shoved down my throat.
Everything now seems scripted & I believe that todays wrestlers just don't possess the charisma like the guys did during this time.

I'm 73 yrs old, and MM was always, over the top crazy hilarious funny, l practically die laughing every time I watch one of his promos, both of my sons also love his cool, unscripted antics, my one son can do him perfectly, if you close your eyes you think MM is in the house, he was the greatest of all!

Flair had some okay promo's. I just liked how he would "whew" on people. Macho Man, Stone Cold, and The Rock made you believe you were right there with them.
He instinctively knew to add "mystery" to his character by hiding his face, turning his back, shielding eyes, instead of straight-up talking to camera. Like a dark super hero! He kept us wanting more....
What a great team those two made.
