@@american_cosmic Ben, I'm with you on that!!! As we have seen bandmates and roadie's come and go. But Gene's loyalty to his friend hasn't changed because Ronnie is deceased. My bestie and I have been friends since 7th grade, we're now proud 55. Gene will continue to protect Ronnie and his kids until the day he dies.
After 23 years of living here in Jax, I finally went to the Van Zant home last Saturday. There was a renovation crew there, and I just took pics of the sign out front, and the front and back of the home. It looks nice. RIP, Gary Rossington.

My experience with bamboo is that there are little splinters that you can get in your hands. So how does one ride bamboo down to the ground? I used to cut bamboo that was down the road. I might make a spear with some Spanish Bayonet plants. I've tried to use green bamboo as a cane pole. Anyway, those black splinters are a bitch and if you've handled the bamboo and gotten those splinters, you wouldn't mess with it again. So, perhaps Gene and Ronnie were wearing gloves.

I am very inclined to believe you and your account of the crash. I knew nothing till a few days ago when I watched the Artimus Pyle-o-Shit American Hero Story.....LOL> I had a real hard time in the movie, seeing what he went through, then getting shot, and needing NO medical attention for that???? LOL, no....TY for the truth Gene!!!! In the movie, he is the real hero at all times. He finds Ronnie, Cassie and the pilots (one up in a tree, looking down, dead and bleeding)....yet YOU were the only one ejected from the plane. WHY NOT TELL THE TRUTH???? I just don't get it. And at the end of the movie, he really sucks ass on the drums. I am a drum instructor...I love the cuts, but today?? Retire Bruh!! LOL. Peace Mr. Odom!!!! And again, thanks for the truth!!!!
