swarm of bees attack drone. Bees vs. Drone

bees twice came out of no where and attacked my drone. It was about 100' up too. The sound must have attracted them.

Given the size and height of the group of bees I'd say you ran into a drone congregation area. They are hanging out looking for a queen bee to mate with and are attracted to all moving objects.

It almost certainly is. I've been there. That mountain slope with its greenery looks very familiar.
