    I was able to find OpenPort 2.0 OBD adapter here. It is a pass thru adapter. It worked fine with xentry. It may be available in your country

    i know this is a year old video, but do you have any interest in data from a Rotunda VCMII, and the FDS (Ford Diagnostic Software) data that may allow you and I to work together to make a linux base open source data set for almost every single make and model of car covered by the SAE and EUR, OBDII standard, possibly even moving into tge newer models as well.
    my plan is to make use of the Right To Repair laws that have passed recently in the USA to build a software for my personal use both at work (ford technician) and at home (I.C.E. experimental engineering, building, and tuning.)
    Current project is to build a software that can be run in a linux environment, perhaps RaspberryPi, or Arduino IDE, that can be a standalone unit for scanning, but also installed permenantly in a vehicle to act as a scanner and tuner.

    Very cool. I also have a W246 that is showing "Transmission malfunction" on the dashboard. Would I be able to see the error codes with OpenVehicleDiag and an Arduino with CAN shield? No local sellers of the Macchina adapters in my country. Thanks!

    I'm in the market for a bidirectional scan tool and stumbled upon your work. Need to reprogram a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado BCM. Any thoughts on achieving this via OVD + Macchina?

    Can your software be used to interface with the car functions say to control the A/C from a touch screen head unit? Something like the iDatalink Maestro RR2 adapters for other cars?

    • @RANDASH
      @RANDASH  Před 3 lety +9

      Technically yes, but practically no. This is meant to be done via the OBD-II port of a vehicle, which tends to be firewalled so you can't send whatever you want over the port.
      If you know what CAN Frames to send to the A/C control module to control things like temperature, then there is nothing stopping you from hard-wiring directly into the CANBUS network with an Arduino and sending custom CAN Frames. This is similar to what I have already done with my mbux-port project: czcams.com/play/PLxrw-4Vt7xtstJgl7B1ayPXBFBRulu41J.html

    Very cool! However, I'm not sure if I understood correctly: Are the JSON files required in order to run commands on any control unit, or will that also work when the software discovers them?

    Hi, Where can I purchase your software and where do I get a Macchina m2 from?
    Please answer

  • @Z-Ack
    @Z-Ack Před 2 lety

    But if the obd reader used a correct can bus chipset then no programming would be necessary . You just have to get the right software.. is all in the software and parameters provrammed into the software that coincide with the vehicle’s as built code.. so you dont brick the ecu

    Could these JSON files for the ECU data be used for example in Torque or such android applications? Or is it because of the ELM327 OBD adapter that those apps can’t find alot of info from the ECU on my 270 CDI?

  • @AC-wx6fh

    Not working on w210. I'm using 38 pin connector to plug in a0. Everything's connected, and it's scanning for ISO-TP but can't read any errors. Just says that no ISU-TP capable ECUs were found in my vehicle. Any suggestions?

    • @RANDASH
      @RANDASH  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes it would never work on a car that old as it has no ECUs that can be diagnosed over CANBUS, only Kline (LIN)

    • @AC-wx6fh
      @AC-wx6fh Před 3 lety

      @@RANDASH is there anything I can do to read them ECUs with my Macchina a0? Or should I order m2?

    • @RANDASH
      @RANDASH  Před 3 lety +1

      Hate to say this but pretty much the only thing you can do at this point is get a newer car....A0 doesn't and will never support LIN especially as it's a long dead protocol.

    • @AC-wx6fh
      @AC-wx6fh Před 3 lety
