  • Herbert Khaury (better known by his stage name Tiny Tim) performing on the 30 Years of Rock and Roll Tour. Introduced by Donnie Brooks (famous for his 1960 hit "Mission Bell"), Tiny performed that night alongside such acts as Cannibal and The Headhunters (famous for "Land of a Thousand Dances"), Jewel Akins (known for "The Birds and The Bees"), Al Wilson (who performed "Show and Tell"), Dennis Yost (of the Classics IV), Pat Upton (lead singer of Spiral Starecase), and Mike Pinera (guitarist for Iron Butterfly). Tiny's set was a medley of traditionals and standards, including "Tiptoe Thru' The Tulips" and an especially delightful performance of "Heartbreak Hotel". This performance was captured live at The Palace of Auburn Hills, Michigan. Many thanks to Joe Russo for this great footage.

I just loved and admired Tiny Tim, so much. He seemed to live above the fray on a very caring, loving plane, where he only wanted to make people happy with his love of the music. Thank you, Tiny Tim. You were such a blessing to those of us who loved you for who you were - a kind and brilliant soul.

Thanks very much for this upload. Tiny Tim was definitely America’s first flower child and his name is synonymous with the word icon. He is missed by all but he’s fondly remembered. 🌹

He died penniless. His last few years his gigs consisted of doing volunteer gigs at senior centers. A trouper to the end. A misunderstood genius and a walking encyclopedia of music. He was an innocent who could laugh at himself and take on the scorn and cruel babble of the world while pursuing his calling. A rare person and huge talent. With the right management he could have become a millionaire and who knows what he might have come up with? The joke was on us! R.I.P. Mr Tiny Tim.

Just to set the record straight:
Mr Tim DID NOT pass away Penniless! His wife was the daughter of a very rich business man who helped out his daughter. She was always a much caring individual who made sure Mr Tim had anything he needed!

@@crimsonwolf9099 Crimson I, along with Mike Dibonis and Donnie Brooks handled some of his Personal Appearance Bookings.
He was still living very comfortable in MN.
He had just about everything he needed.
His health was extremely bad......He should not have been doing his recent Appearances. He did not follow dr's orders to settle down.

Just to set the record straight......This was NOT a Richard Nader show. It was a "Donnie Brooks 30 Years of Rock N Roll" show
And........He did not die Penniless as mentioned below. Mr. Tim was living a middle class existence with his wife. She was very wealthy. She made sure he had everything he needed.
It was his failing health that got him.

What a heck of a guy! Yes, do watch him do his show for the elders (some with dementia). He worked through pain and exhaustion, and the thing is, he was a learned musicologist (like Dr Demento!)
