Great song from her hayday. You can hear the power in her voice, and that is the edge I think she's lost in her age - though she's gained a lot of emotional delivery. This song is a trip for me, a nostalgia trip, this was all over Dutch radio in my youth and just a plain good song IMO.

I've met Anita many times and used to go see her if she was around. She's very nice, very friendly. My only problem is she ALWAYS had the same songs. And again here, the same song. That's why I stopped going. Such a shame she didn't have more new songs.

Her voice now, compared to then, it has changed a little, but like you said, she is still capable of pulling of high notes and knows her voice and limitations very well. (wont ever catch her "over-singing" anything, she knows exactly where to go and what to do)

the group was led by Hans Vermeulen, who was also the great man behind Anita Meijer, including through the Rainbow Train group, with which Anita and others also achieved great successes in Nederlannde and, as far as I know, in Germany and England.

As already suggested you should watch the music videos on the Toppop CZcams channel. Back in the 70’s and later (before MTV) there were no music videos like we know now. Great artists from around the world came to the Dutch music show Toppop to show their music. Most of the performances weren’t live, they lipsynced most of the times. But back in those days I didn’t care about that. I loved their performances and their music. The Netherlands played an important role in The European music business. Thanks to my country artists like Donna Summer, Gloria Estefan & The Miami Sound Machine and I think Whitney Houston got an important boost in their musical career. You may like those videos.

Nice intro for your new channel! I know this channel is for other genres besides metal, but things have been a little"poppy" on this channel lately haha! No biggie...I can skip the vids that don't interest me, right? This looks like the tail end of the 70's (MAYBE early 80's), it still has a bit of disco sound to it. Please balance your genres out with a bit more of the others (rock, electronic, blues, reggae, country, etc.). Cheers!

i got a link for you if you want to know what she can do these days, preformance wise. in this show she was a guest where other singers sang a medley of her songs and while singing brought her to the stage where she herself closes the medly with this song, watch the whole thing or fast forward to 6:31 where she herself takes centre stage. oh, and keep your eyes on the audience when she does. you'll see what i mean.
