      Thanks Stu. It's certainly something that is worthwhile spending the time on to get right. As you know it should only have to be done once if it is done correctly. I suppose you are going to tell me you've got a hunting trip planned. Lucky bugger. Lock down has me videoing anything😂🤣😂🤣

    hey robbo, whats your favourite all round go to calibre (brand.of rifle) for sambar and what grain bullets do u use. stalking and out to 200yards.

    • @BoltActionProductions
      @BoltActionProductions  Před 4 lety

      If you weren't limiting the range to 200yds I would probably say the 7mm Rem mag. With the range you speak of the .308 will get the job done with good bullet placement. It is mild to shoot and efficient for its size. 160-170gr is the best bullet weight for the 7mm and 150's for the .308. Reloaded and driven hard in both these calibers they will work well. Brand of rifle for sambar hunting. When I pondered this question not that long ago I looked at all options and in the end couldn't go past the Tikka T3. The only weakness for me is the plastic stock but that is just a personal thing. After using my 7mm with the Carbon Fiber stock for hunting Sambar over the last few years I would still go the same way again if I had to. It shoots extremely well, hits hard, has more range than you will need in most situations, it is a pleasure to carry and doesn't break the bank.
