- The Boondocks was an extremely popular show on Adult Swim, but it was not without its controversy. The show, which was created by Aaron McGruder, started as a webcomic, but McGruder immediately ran into trouble when he tried to turn it into a newspaper comic strip. Eventually, the mix of comedy and social commentary proved to be a big hit, and Adult Swim aired the show from 2005 to 2014. It's pretty common. I've worked various fast foods. All have run out of product more than a few times.

I believe he is and that everyone is coming back too! Everyone except John Witherspoon RIP. If you haven’t heard of his son he sounds just like him when he does his impression! He talked about the next season, his audition, and the production in detail.
That last season was trash, man. It wasn’t funny or warm. It was just mean. That’s it.

Obsessively read the comics when it first got syndicated in my teens, then obsessively watched the cartoon in my twenties. Love them both, but season 4 was eh.
Aaron McGruder is a visionary. We are so very blessed for his work, and I pray we see a Boondocks revival someday - with Aaron at the helm, and Regina resuming her roles, of course 🙏🏽

Absolutely love the Boondocks with it's original creator. The cast was also so full of personality and character as well. It'll he hard to see a reboot without them. Question I think about is after recent events here in 2020, is the world ready for boondocks again?

"Huey, Riley & Granddad were not just property, They are my fictional bloodline relatives" That's deep, i'm sure a lot of artists of all kinds can relate to that. When you've spent so long on a project you created, it becomes a part of you. I know it sounds cliche but it's true.

I remember the MLK episode. I remember how hard it hit. And years later i remember reality imitating art. Seeing McDonalds and others turning a dime off his image.
Years ahead of his time, under appreciated, and truly insightful. I really expected to run for years like South Park.

This show was always one of my top 3 shows in general. From beginning to end. This show was one of the most realistic while being completely crazy and insane.

The irony is that BET called the show harmful because it informed US about what's really happening! Uncle Ruckus was a clever idea for a character. He was too raw and truthful for "BET"! They rather have Tyler Perry reboots!

I’m just happy to get more Boondocks as long as Aaron is doing it. His absence was heavily felt.
It's figures are not going to talk about the underbelly of how they offered the son of John Witherspoon JD Witherspoon to pay tribute to the role that his father date of Granddad and yet they gave him the runaround and gave it to someone else. Even though they said JD was perfect for the role.

I remember when they replaced the comic strip with one about Jar Jar Binks. I think it was only a one time thing, and Jar Jar was basically saying the Boondocks were to controversial so you get him instead (most hated character ever) I think it was the Washington post comic section, where I was a kid I read them every Sunday before church lol.
As a fan of both the comic and the show, I'm still salty that they never added Caesar into the show. He's easily one of the best characters in the comic strip
I love this show...but it's really all about the songs on the show. "Stomp em in the NUTS". THUGNIFFICENT SHOULD HAVE WENT QUADRUPLE PLANTINUM OFF THAT SH×T.
