My father studied as a medic in the 50s met my mum who was from Anfield and I'm grateful as I wouldn't be here otherwise.
I was in Liverpool in 2019 during the Champions League and it was bouncing.
Atmosphere was electric and the whole city was filled with red smoke from the flares.
Had a great time, it's similar to here in Glasgow regarding the look and feel and the people. I'd definitely go back 😄

We were there last Sat,and did the Anfield tour,also was there the weekend before( 2 weeks ago) and we went into the Cavern pub early on the Sunday night,It was a fantastic experience and great live music..

Brilliant Kevin, I have been watching your videos now for the last few months. Initially the Tenerife ones because we are hopefully coming over in September. I then got drawn in to all your Benidorm, Majorca and Salou ones. You have now come to my home city. I love Matthew St. I played the Cavern with an Indy band in the 1990's. Great memeories. I hope my city was kind to you and you enjoyed your stay. I wish I had known you were there, I would have come down to say hello. Safe travels. :-)

Why is a Scotsman from Glasgow worried about coming to Liverpool? Half of us have Scottish and Irish relatives and ancestry. Outsiders call Liverpool 'the capital of Ireland' which I'd never heard until that time. We share so much shared history it's like a home from home for Scots and Irish visitors,even Welsh. Hell,anybody actually! My advice to anybody visiting is 'Stop reading the lies in the British press.'

The Cavern is the best live venue I’ve ever been to and coming from Glasgow that’s no mean feat as we have Barrowlands King tuts and we had the Apollo.

Day'time the fast'food stench is suffocating...
In Tenerife and the Balearics the locals protest at the over-sell and subsequent carnage after 9pm on the same street.
Speaking as the founder of Cavern City Tours which runs the Cavern club, pub and restaurant, PRS John Lennon Award for song composition and the original power-solo musician to play at the current "Cavern" club and every other significant venue on Mathew St. I must attest to the truth that it need not have ended up this way. What has not been curated is the artistic heritage and legacy of Liverpool music and its musicians. As ever, its the same small group of players on each "Cavern" venue and the same cover songs. The last non-Beatles charr-topper on the "Wall of Fame" is Atomic Kitten's "Whole Again". From 2002...
Interesting points it's tricky to get a balance I love the Cavern Club but do agree lots of the same songs etc but any other major city you will find much the same issue I think . I only show small clips and can't do justice really to the musicians .

I was hoping to bump into you and say hello whilst there however I've just seen you just happen to have popped to my home city Liverpool for the weekend. Fom Kensington, Liverpool, I went down South in the Building Trade for 47 years. There are lots of good friendly people there and everywhere. They are not all Tories .

Next time you come to liverpool try a different area in city centre. Concert square, Lots of bars and clubs, it's bouncing, particularly when the students are here.
