Can’t believe I’m saying this for the last time this series. SPOILER BLOCKER COMMENT!
It’s been a journey. I’ll be here for more series (pl) to block all those nasty spoilers ❤
Can't believe it's over either -- thanks so much for all your dedicated spoilage blockage, and please keep it up going forward!!
Appreciate all of these throughout the series. I got a few games ruined by spoilers but it happened rarely thanks to you. Some heroes don't wear capes.
Thank you for your service
Thanks for keeping us entertained over the last 7 months or so with this great series. If the next one isn't going to be against BestBot, hope you'll consider a rematch sometime in the future.
Thanks so much for your kind words, and stay tuned for the announcement Wednesday!
Many others have said it already Mack, but I’ll also throw in my thanks for an entertaining and instructive series!
Thanks very much Hank! Best of luck in Niagara this weekend, I see some big rating gains in your future :)
I wanted to say that this series has been a fascinating contrast to the hastybot series, which I started watching partway through. Your accuracy is still incredibly good for a human, but this bot is good enough to claim every advantage and when luck is on its side it gets pretty painful!
Looking forward to your next series, I love your channel, thank you!
Thanks so much for your kind words and support, I really appreciate it! Stay tuned for the announcement of the next series tomorrow!
Good to go out on a sick endgame, (e)W what a stunner. We don't need to talk about the rest of the game, or the series overall
Excited for whatever you have in store next!
Thanks so much for all your support, really appreciate it!
Win or lose, this has been an absolute blast to watch over the past half year and helped me get back into Scrabble. I’m so excited to see what excellent content you make moving forward!
Thanks so much for your kind words and support, really appreciate it! Stay tuned Wednesday for the big announcement :)
I found your channel halfway through your 100 hastybot series, and have been consistently watching you since. Sorry for the shitty luck through some of the games, but thanks for the incredible games, and great scrabble content. Also, I feel pretty satisfied that my win prediction was one game off.
Thanks so much for your support, really appreciate it! And yeah it happens with the luck, I did draw pretty well against Hasty tho so can't complain too much :)
Thanks for the wonderful series Mack! As much as I want to see a Best Bot series rematch, I think it may be worth to revisit another time. It will be nice to stop seeing the one-sided luck. Really looking forward to whatever you decide next!
Thanks so much Chase, really appreciate all your support! Stay tuned tomorrow for the announcement :)
This has been so much fun to follow! It's consistently been the one series I always look forward to. Whenever I come home from a long days work and you upload an episode it's always what I put on to help me unwind. I never even knew competitive scrabble was a thing before I found your channel and started watching the hastybot series. So I guess my sister has you to blame for making her win rate plummet against me this last year or so 😆😆
Anyways I'm excited to see what videos you pull from the bag next!
Hahaha that's so awesome, I really appreciate your kind words and support!
Thanks a lot, Mack! These videos became an integral part of my daily routine.
Thanks so much, that makes me really happy to hear!
That (e)W setup by the bot was pretty sick. Kinda thing I see commentators go nuts over if it was a tournament game.
Thanks for the series. It was fun to watch I only jumped in about halfway through. Can't wait to see what's next.
Thanks so much for watching! And yeah that was pretty sick indeed, I hope I would've found it if the game was on the line/I had time but no guarantees, it's a toughie
Great series Mack. I'm amazed at how well you did against a computer opponent that gets to see every move perfectly. I loved hearing your reasoning while playing. Thank you for sharing your gift!
Thanks so much Tom, really appreciate your kind words! Hope you'll be back for the rematch!
Should have fished for ZEMSTVO at the start. Serves you right 🤣
Hehe
Thank you for the fantastic series. I learned to like your word when getting bad draw: “Yikes!”
How much fun was this?! Thank you for doing it.
Thanks so much, so glad you enjoyed it! I had a ton of fun making the vids :)
@@mackmeller I would be interested in you doing a video about why you think the bot beat you. How was it better? Did you start to see any weaknesses you could exploit? ect.
@@phroney I'll talk about this a little in tomorrow's vid!
Wow the final one. I found your channel around #25 ish, and it’s crazy to see it end. Excited for what comes next.
Yeah times flies when you're having fun! Appreciate your support, and stay tuned for the announcement Wednesday!
that was an epic journey. i was way off with my prediction. i was influenced by the way the start of the series was going. i have really enjoyed watching this series especially those great wins
Thanks so much for all your support! Yeah I can't blame you at all with the prediction, you certainly weren't the only one and it sure was a rough start haha
thanks so much for this series!! it was always such a nice thing to look forward to every other day. this ending almost feels poetic in a way😣 regardless- this series was so entertaining and can’t wait for the next one!!!!
Thanks so much John, really appreciate all your support! Yeah was definitely reminiscent of the 4-game losing streak at the beginning, oh well... hopefully I'll get some revenge on whoever/whatever my next opponent is (stay tuned Wednesday to find out!)
Thank you so much for this series ❤🎉
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for the series and congratulations! You always make my day and even more so when you grasp the win against luckyBot. Will always be looking forward to your vids
Thanks so much, really appreciate your kind words and support!
It's been so long I forgot about the prediction contest. I think I predicted you would win so I think I'm out of the running for sure. Looking forward to next series if I had to guess it would be blindfolded against hastybot or standard csw21 against hasty. Either way it's probably going to be dope so I look forward to it.
Thanks so much for watching, and stay tuned Wednesday for the announcement!
I really enjoyed following this series and I'm excited for what's next. Keep up the great content!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
DEVISAL was pretty brutal and it would've taken some really good luck to recover from there, but it might have still been possible - hard to know for sure. In general though I've noticed you often fixate on fishing for bingos and just get outscored by the bot because you keep making 10-15 point plays and miss out on a lot of scoring potential. I would've cashed in the S early instead of holding on to it for half the game, it almost seems like a trap that loses its value the longer you hold it.
Yeah, that's definitely fair -- it's super hard to know when to just score or when there truly is a sense of urgency and you need to try to bingo ASAP
I really enjoyed this series, thanks for making it!
From my novice perspective, your skills seem to be very well suited to go up against the cold, unfeeling machine.
Do you think there are any other top players who would fair significantly better in the same format?
Thanks so much for watching! And fair question, I have to imagine Nigel would do a little better on average just because he's the GOAT, other top players I'd imagine would probably fare similarly to me but would be awesome to watch if one of them did a series too!
+1 to everyone else here, Thank you so much for a great series!
And i would love to see you play CSW :)
Thanks so much for your support, really appreciate it!
Interesting fact about the series that I've just noticed after watching this video…
BestBot won the first four and the last four games of the series consecutively (Games 1-4 and 97-100 were all won by BestBot).
Haha I definitely noticed 😂... can't say I'm happy about it but is what it is!
Enjoyed every game!
Thanks so much, really appreciate it!
Do you know about the odd board configurations which can be found in the Elise Scrabble Programme? Maybe worth a look.
I don't but I'll check it out!
great series thank you!
Of course the sample size is too small to prove much about relative ability. If we assume you are exactly the same standard as the bot (50/50), then there is still a 6.66% chance that the bot would win 58 games or more. Maybe that's what happened, it certainly seemed lucky.
Is there any way to quantify and adjust for the luck factor?! (I think there is in poker)
Thanks so much for watching! It's very hard to quantify exactly, since going based on a metric like blanks is an oversimplification (sure blanks help but timing of when you draw what tiles is often more important). I guess you could do something like what's your expected score next turn given your leave and what did you actually score, then if you scored more than expected you were lucky. This is also not entirely accurate though since it of course leaves out that you often sacrifice points for various reasons.
In bridge, what we do is we play the same dealt hands and compare how well we did vs others with the same cards. This isn’t possible in scrabble though, since not every player draws the same number of tiles through the game.
Can't believe this series is over 😔. Hope the announcement is another series against BestBot!
Yeah I know right, I can't believe it either -- stay tuned!
Can't wait for game 200 😂 great series
Haha thanks so much for watching!
that was to be expected, TROOPER always misses the board
So, my prediction was that you'd win 3 games for the bot's every 5 wins. You were one win away from getting a 3-to-4 record, which is definitely impressive.
~37% is common in probabilities (it's the limit of ((1-(1/n))^n), which determines the likelihood of something of probability 1/n NOT happening if you try it n times, in this case coming out with a positive record against the bot) so you still defied some odds, Mack! Any record under 37-63 would have been a bad omen for mankind against AI :P
Ah yeah that would be 1/e, right? Take me back to my calculus days haha... in any case really appreciate your support!
@@mackmeller That is indeed 1/e
Didn't the series just start!?
Haha I'm afraid not, but glad you're here and I have another exciting series starting soon so be sure to tune in Wednesday for the announcement!
22:12 I don’t see any reason besides having an s not tho play Mu(Z)JIK for 35
Yeah I mean the only drawback is of course burning the blank, it's a close call whether it's worth it
You might consider transitioning to Collins, (as many American experts are doing), graduating from NASPA's diminishing pool of players.
tones for the desperate A hook perhaps
You overp-prioritise bingo leaves. Score more per turn💪🏻
That is what I thought for a while, but he seems to know the entire dictionary(he almost never misses a bingo), so when a bingo is on his rack, he is probably going to see it. Knowing this, it makes sense that he leans towards bingo favorable racks.
@@anewfuture but even still. You need to score and leave perhaps one or two less letters, other than extremely strong racks
You have mildly annoyed some older players whose personal pronouns include 'human'.
☹
@@mackmeller I apologize, Gavroche, for my harsh remarks. Back in the 1980's, I could easily defeat any "bot".
