I still remember when this drama first aired, I was so mesmerized by the outfits. The outfits and hair were distinct in its own design & style, unlike so many others, just by looking at the costumes you can never get the characters confused with another drama. This drama really set the bar for quality costumes for other Qing dynasty dramas. Also I was mesmerized by Ruolan’s elegance and beauty. Even to this day, every time I watch a Qing dynasty drama I imagine how it would be with Ruolan in it 🥰

I love this drama, made me cry every time. To non English speakers, might be hard to understand bc this is a historical drama and with historical context so the subs might not be right. But it’s very meaningful and the song is rly rly meaning full if u know
The original still my favourite than ryeo, many people said lead actor (nicky wu) is unapealing and they prefer the korean version. But for me this is the best version, the struggle was real, the build up paced nicely, and the unsaid words by fourth prince displayed eloquently by his gesture,mannerism,and facial expression. This drama got me hook,line,and sinker! 💕💕💕

Yes so ruolan's style is elegant and refined yet refreshing and ruoxi is into more youthful colours,but not very bright more pastel type colours.

看到很多评论都说若曦作，或是圣母白莲花，尤其是到后面的剧集，骂她的特别多。我觉得这样评论的人根本就没看懂步步惊心。若曦这个角色其实是非常复杂的，这一路她的心路历程也很合情合理。刚到古代时，因为八阿哥温润如玉，又处处照顾她，她对八阿哥有情是非常正常的，但是因为知道他的结局悲惨，所以她会想让八阿哥放弃皇位，不放弃就分手。有的人就说她自私了，但是扪心自问，有多少人能明知道结局悲惨还要走下去的？这不就成了别的玛丽苏脑残剧了吗？然后又有人说这部剧所有人都喜欢女主。其实也不是的，一开始喜欢她的只有八阿哥和十阿哥，跟十三从头到尾就是友情，十四也是塞外若曦赛马那次，他才开始真正注意到若曦，包括四阿哥也是赛马后才又对她上了心。然后抨击若曦最多的就是，四爷登基后处处为难其他的爷，每次若曦都去求情，说她放不下其他的爷。但说实话，十爷十四爷都是跟若曦从小一起长大的，都是她的亲人，包括八爷。如果真正能做到好好跟皇上过日子不管他们的死活，那若曦也是挺牛的。还有八福晋跟若曦说了当年十三被幽禁其实是因为若曦和八爷分手时提醒八爷要提防四爷，若曦悲伤过度流产，又被人喷。当年分手时若曦的提醒只是希望八爷今后的日子好过一点，但是她又怎么会知道以后会跟四爷产生感情呢？而且她说提防四爷，也不知道八爷的解读会是去陷害四爷结果导致十三被幽禁呀！要怪只能怪若曦虽然知道每个人的结局，但她并不能真的预测将来，很多事情只能说是事与愿违，她除了知道结局，其实没有什么大灵通，但是反而更显真实。如果你们想看简单的剧，你们就去看那些白痴脑残剧好了。PS: 皇上把玉檀给蒸了可以说是他犯的最大的错误。玉檀跟若曦宫中20年，真的就是她的妹妹。皇上可以把她赶出宫，却非要用这种极刑。若曦因此恨皇上，也被人骂作或是白莲花，也是醉了。

当时看也会觉得她有点白莲花。现在重温觉得细节处理得当 感情也是很合情合理
还是这部穿越戏最经典。现在都好多穿越古代的电视剧，不过还是觉得这部最好啦！ 每一年重复看了很多遍都看不腻💖
泰国要翻拍步步惊心了，再来重温一遍。泰版的演员我都很喜欢，很期待！原版真的是大陆非常经典的古装剧了，制作真的很精良，每一个角色都有鲜明的性格，把那种历史的沉重感和虐恋爱情的文艺感结合得特别好。
