- Well this was probably the fastest video I’ve ever made. I guess you could say I really……...went beyond. I hope you enjoy my simple ramblings about why I thought the fight between Deku and Todoroki was so cathartic (outside of the splendid animation of course). PLUSS ULTRAA

This video is just amazing. I feel like anyone can relate to Shoto or Deku in some level. Being part of a lineage you don't want or feel you don't belong to, trying to live up to people's expectations and do great things. Everyone has a tough choice in life. I relate to both Shoto and Deku since my whole family loves sports and exercises basically everyday, that's just not me. In part it's because even though I give it my all in everything I do, it's harder for me to complete races that for most are easy. I don't want to be like them, I prefer going through my passions, but they don't seem to understand me yet. And I want to live up to everyone's expectations, but when I'm powerless and can't do something about anything, that's soulcrushing to me. I had to watch my cousin go through cancer almost every day and I couldn't do anything about it. When she passed away, it gave me inspiration. This inspiration should pass through every person on this earth and My Hero Academia has helped me understand. Do not waste your life. Everyone is capable of doing great things, and it is your duty to do those great things. Whether it be becoming a great doctor, or becoming a great CZcamsr, you have to do what you dream of, no matter what. It took me a while to realize that, but it is what keeps me moving forward
Inspirational.
Thank you for enlightening my day!
"Everyone is capable of doing great things, and it is your duty to do those great things." - I'll remember this.
Adribikes Pretty good video as you explained things that opened my eyes what they are initially to be and a lot more deeper than that. Good job man :)
I relate to toderoki since I hate my mother. she is an alcoholic and she loved me more than my younger brother. but that love was more "you belong to me" kind of love like Endavor feel to his son. She would never gie my brother any gifts or affection. She even left us with his father who was very violent. I relate to deku sinc i was bullied in elementery school becourse i was different ( child of an alcoholic). I think alot of people can relate to many of the charakters in MHA :) Sorry for my bad grammar, English is my second langue :`)
not gonna lie, that cut at 6:51 was cleannn
0:28 was clean too.
curtisoneal100 e
Ikr? who the truck notices those things?! Very Genius Comparison. Very Genius Indeed.
"IT'S YOUR POWER!"
DAMN
that was poetic....
if we look at Deku's origin story, he was born quirkless; he did not inherit the power of his parents.
and he is trying desperately to make the power he now possesses his own....
My Hero Academia OverHyping Federation fun fact bakugo > Madara
well, I want to agree but I haven't seen Naruto :P the only thing I know about madara is that he supposedly got so strong that the author had to bring an even more powerful villain to kill him off
My Hero Academia OverHyping Federation it was such an ass pull 😈
"well, I want to agree but I haven't seen Naruto :P the only thing I know about madara is that he supposedly got so strong that the author had to bring an *ACTUAL GOD* to kill him off"
FTFY
Bronze V well, damn. How did they beat a God then? I don't mind spoilers btw
"Click-bait title (true intellectual title)"
Basically "why not both?" while all the other youtubers struggle to choose only one.
Nmai #TrueFacts
Click bait titles are an intentional misrepresentation of the true content in a video or article that are designed to "bait" the viewers into clicking the video. "Why Deku vs Todoroki was SO EPIC" is not a click bait title it's an accurate description of the videos topic. It would be click bait if it said something like "Deku vs Todoroki, the message that everyone missed".
Harrison Caughey : yeah you're right, what I meant was more like "your typical CZcams title"
Enemia I guess you can say, "you will never win using only half your power"
Enemia better to say, "catchy title" as a catchy title is not necessarily untrue or click baity, of which a click bait title should not only be misleading, but requiring caps to be used in it, and not for names, as an all name in all caps is just meant to draw attention to the main noun. Typically the all caps are used in adjectives in click bait titles or in the entire title
I loved how Deku chose to save his friend rather than win the match. Just beautiful.
Phil Phan that's what Deku is all about. That's how he got into the school. That's why All Might decided to give him his quirk. Time and time again, we see Deku sacrifice himself to help someone else, often not even thinking about it.
I think that's the main difference between him and Bakugo. Bakugo wants to be a hero for the fame, to prove that he is without a doubt the best. Deku wants to be a hero to save people.
This fight is really interesting though, as it's basically the first time we see Deku sacrifice something to save someone, not from physical danger, but from themselves, and their own emotional setbacks.
Deku is awesome is what I'm trying to say here.
There's a reason manga readers call him the madman , a man breaking bones in his body time after time to save people physically and mentally .
"Alan Moore might have coined the term, 'Who watches the Watchmen?' But I like to think My Hero Academia would much rather ask, who inspires the heroes?"
That was a beautiful line my friend, really encapsulated the show to me.
Dot Yep
Its pretty rare that a show has a character win through defeat. Izuku has done it twice. His first fight with Bakugo, he had a choice of finishing the fight, or developing a plan to further his goals elsewhere, as in helping Uraraka. Now his fight with Todoroki was a lot of him trying to get through to Todoroki to stop, as you put it, insulting everyone else's efforts by using only half power Its a pretty great thing we have going here, and I feel the deeper themes of MHA are too often missed. Nice to see more people trying to change that.
Three times now
The Mad Mystic deku didnt try to make him use his fire becasue of that, he wanted todoroki to realise that his fire power was his power, and not his dads.
As someone who grew up in an abusive childhood, Todorki's story really resonates with me.
I feel like the way Izuku handled this fight--showing Todoroki that he is better than his circumstances and the people who raised him, despite their influence on him as a person--was super important, and I appreciate it. Great video!
It hit me hard too, as I grew up with a similar abuse, one where I had to live up to certain expectations or I simply wasn't loved. I cried during those scenes before Todoroki used his fire. I don't think an anime has ever struck a chord with me like that before.
This series has the potential to go on for years and years... When I saw the title "Shouto Todoroki: Origin", I was just kinda lost for words, because in that second I saw what he could be like in season 12 or something... Its already paced in a way to help its longevity. Here's to hoping this series just keeps growing.
People are saying this is going to be "the next big shonen anime", up there with DBZ, One Piece, Naruto, etc. and I'm starting to see why.
Okay, okay, fair points, but the best fight was Eijiro Kirishima VS Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu. More manly
this guy is a philosophical genius breaking down the fundamental pieces of this anime and making it a heartwarming explanation of a deeper meeting
Christian Moffett Well actually hes just rehashing what was already said in the show but I love the video too.
Josh B
True but I guess I wouldn't have thought of it as detailed or explained as well, but yea definitely awesome video
Christian Moffett Yeah I love the editing hahaha
Josh B
For real, the pacing works great
" The essence of being a hero is to butt into people's business." That single quote in my view not only summarizes the entire arc( Deku) and this arc but also this fight. Deku clearly saw Shoto as someone suffering, feeling alone and burdened. Much like him. And knowing that feeling he wanted to bring the best out of Todoroki and break him from his icy mindset and ignite the fire within him. And that is why I adore this fight. Midoriya lost the fight but this fight displayed why in my view he is truly a hero.
Great Video ! Fun Fact: Uncle Ben actually never gave that quote in the comics, instead it is a realization Spidey comes to after his death. Sam Raimi changed that for his film, decades later and because of that many people associate it with Ben, but I think it was a bit weird for humble, old Ben to talk about "Great Power", considering he did not know about Peters powers.
Yeah, he said and did pretty much everything in some alternate universe though, I think it is extremely unlikely Raimi was influenced by that, seeing how the film was getting filmed in January 2001 and planned before that, also Ultimate Spiderman was not iconic, even now only nerds have heard of it and the importance of comic storylines to movies is generally limited by how much they matter to the director.
Actually that's wrong. You're right that Uncle Ben never ORIGINALLY gave that quote, but it became so popular and ingrainated in the Spider-Man mythos that it was associated with Uncle Ben IN THE COMICS, DECADES before the Raimi movies. It was already associated retroactively with Uncle Ben for a long time before the movies.
Max Mustermann Uncle Ben said it in the 90's Spiderman's cartoon, long before the live action movie.
To be honest, when I first watched this fight I was pissed that Deku didn't win. But ever since having that thought I've gradually realised how important it was for him to lose. It shows what Deku really values (being an inspirational hero rather than being the most powerful) and I now think that if he'd won it would've ruined the meaning behind the epic battle.
That edit from Uraraka to Deku made me hard
Maria Nelson shit was good asl
Definitely my favourite video of yours Eric. It may be because i feel so passionate about this series but my god you slammed that nail right threw the head with this, good job man!
Thanks man
3:36
"hes like a comic book character"
Deku, i have something to tell u ..
Redtan Sonyeondan same
Thanks for using the English dub, as it is nothing short of fantastic.
still not Close to the sub
i ruined the 69 likes
Gotta admit 6:52 was pretty fucking awesome good job with that.
I really like this moment it was really touching. Especially since Shoto and Deku become pretty good friends after this in the manga. A really great bond of trust that is a direct contrast to their predecessors.
Well said, you encapsulated what has quickly become one of my favorite scenes in anime.
It was so fucking great! I'm still floored by the animation! The fact that the story going on around it was stellar as well only makes it that much better!
"If Todoroki wants to break his cruse - if he wants to find the balance between the numbing frost that chips away at his body and the fiery passion he struggles to keep in check, then no one is stopping him except himself. It's only when he literally combines the opposing powers that reside inside of him that he is finally able to metaphorically become whole." That's a fucking amazing line! Dude, keep up the good work!
Also, "With every smash that leaves him more crippled, with every muscle he tears, you feel Deku's frustration as he tries to get that message through to his opponent. And even though he lost the match, there's more to being a hero than just winning fights. If a hero's duty is to inspire others to be the best that they can, then he already taken the next step to being that symbol of peace he chose to become." Just, all the lines in the video are great, really. They are as inspiring as the characters they are discussing.
Your comparison to DBZ was interesting, as I have, for a while now, thought of Bakugo as being parallel to Vegeta. For both characters, the core of their being is their pride, and it is that pride which pushes them beyond their limits, while holding them back at the same time. For me, one of the moments that stood out most in this show was *(SPOILERS)* the end of Bakugo and Todoroki’s fight. Bakugo was physically fine, and he had won the competition, yet he was utterly broken by the fact that Todoroki hadn’t used his fire. Bakugo could not be proud of a victory where his opponent wasn’t giving their all, so he COULD NOT ACCEPT what he had not truly earned. He wants to be the best, and that means overcoming everyone else’s best. Everyone jeered at Bakugo during his fight with Uraraka, but he was simply showing the proper respect to a worthy opponent by holding nothing back. A respect that he was denied in the final match with Todoroki. He didn’t win just because Todoroki lost.
(1) Great video, truly broke down Shoto's mindset and how Deku influenced him to become the hero he's meant to be. And also that only way to become his own hero Shoto must accept all of himself. (2) Really exceptional editing. Especially when All Might made his speech that both Deku and Shoto heard. (3) As a dub fanboy I appreciated how the clips you used were of the dub. Since I don't hear it talked about a lot, even though it's really good.
What in the world is a "dub connoisseur"?? Are you an expert in dubbed anime or something?
I was being hyperbolic.
Chandler Ingram not looking harf enough. People say its one of the best dubs. Why do you think they make both the dub and sub at the same time? Cause no one likes it
I was joking around. I hate dubbed myself, but to each their own, fam. You watch anime, that's good enough for me.
Even though I prefer subs, I will still admit that the BnHA dub is pretty good.
I love how this show doesn’t add too much needless filler. Two manga arcs in one season is seriously awesome, and I never fell like the story is being drawn out in the anime or manga.
6:00 - 6:07 jesus christ the feels omg that should have been a voice over in the actual episode
I think what I loved about this fight more than anything else is that it really sums up Deku's motivations. In all honesty, there's at least a chance that, given enough time, Deku might have actually been able to come out on top over Todoroki with him only using his ice, but Deku pushes him to use his full strength, despite the fact that it loses him the battle. But, in all honesty, I don't think he expected anything else. The whole reason All Might passed on One For All to Deku is because of his drive to be a hero, and to help people, ignoring himself and doing what’s right, and in that moment, I think that all Izuku was really thinking is that he wanted to help Todoroki free himself from Endeavour, even though he knew he wouldn’t be able to beat him if he did, because winning the fight was less important than helping his classmate
Is this the story of how you became the greatest anime youtuber? (Seriously tho, amazing video! Adding it to my favorites!!)
toN?
If by ToN you mean Tales of Nerdia then not a chance. This guy is miles better than him. Maybe ToN is the best if you like being spoonfed tiny details that are usually inconsequential and if you like someone stating the obvious.
That's a bit harsh but seriously, since his Gon/Meruem and Morel videos ToN hasn't put out a single videos that had anything really interesting to say. The Pairo Jar thing being one of the rare exceptions. I like him and he's knowledgeable but nothing he says has any spice. It's all very bland IMO.
What a deep and thoughtful video. Now I plan to watch this series because of this. Thank you!!
It was an epic fight scene. You knew Deku would probably lose, given how much damage he took, so him progressing any further in the tournament was hopeless (so if he won he would have to forfeit the next match anyway). But man he laid down the therapy session hard while putting up a nasty fight. I applaud this show and hope he has more writing like this. This wasn't a "I punch you punch someone falls down" fight, this was a "I'm going to make you realize that you're holding yourself back, and you need to take that step forward in becoming who you were meant to be".
im amazed at how fitting Deku's dub voice is
To be honest Dub is getting better when it comes to the bigger anime releases from Japan. It's the lesser known animes that I noticed get the generic same voice actors.
I find deku , all might , todoroki ans bakugou's english voices too perfect i'm glad this series has a talented english dubbing it
*Why Deku vs Todoroki was SO EPIC*
I know right!
*(How Lineage Defines Us)*
Say that to my face.
Seriously though, I agreed with most of what you said and loved the video, but I disagree with the title. I from a young age I got sick all the time and was very weak, so I was taught to be smart and inherited my intelligence in a way from my parents. my mother being street smart and my father being book smart. I was diagnosed with my mother's genetic disease that will run through my family line forever, that disease being beta-thalassemia minor(an easy way of explaining it is that i have half the blood of a normal human), which causes a lot of problems for me physically, but even so I completely reject my lineage my taking up fencing(Sword fighting) which isn't necessarily physically intensive I am still at a disadvantage, but even still I push in the face of adversity and have become my teacher's fastest growing student and am on the path of achieving the same world gold medal status she achieved long ago, in october I will be going to the Junior Olympic Qualifiers and plan on qualifying and winning the Junior Olympics in fencing. Our lineage gives us advantages and disadvantages, but that doesn't define who we are, it's up to us to use or deal with what our lineage left us.
Did you watch the video? Because that's the point he made. Even if you don't let your lineage limit you (which I'm glad you don't, good for you) it's still an integral part of who you are. So yes, it does define you, but it's not all that defines you. Good luck in the Junior Olympics!
yeah i agreed with what he said, but the way he worded certain points sounded kinda weird and sounded like they were supporting the title rather than what he actually was saying, though despite that still made his point clear throughout the video in general. Also thanks man that's really nice of you, i hope you aim for great heights.
Mikkoto What anime are you from, cause that sounds like an epic story I'd like to see. Best of luck.
Both are still true. Your lineage has defined your struggle, but you're proving how you are so much more than that.
Thats awesome man!
This episode whenever I watch it makes my eyes well up with tears because of the experiences I've had during my childhood.
A history of physical abuse as well as watching my Mother, time and time again, betrayed and taken advantage of by the men in her life.
My Mother has had traumatizing experiences that many people can't even fathom, and the fact that she's still here at 38 after raising me and my siblings makes me proud to be her son.
I vowed never to become a man that strikes his wife, that never abandons his family, that wouldn't take his life, that never betrays her, and never imprisons her.
Lineage doesn't define who you are as a person but it certainly affects your development. This was one of the most cathartic episodes of anime I've seen ever.
really happy you used the dub ^_^
This video really opened my eyes. Before I thought this was just some regular shounen anime, now I see it's more than that. Thank man, keep it u, you're a genius.
This is one of my favorite videos on this channel - which is saying a lot, the content here is stellar. Shoto's story has resonated with me in a way no other piece of fiction has, and to hear the meaning of Izuku vs Shoto summarized this beautifully is just so heartwarming. I always appreciate the thoughtful scripts you guys write!
Like Shoto, I too have been rejecting the parts of myself that resemble my abusive father. When Izuku yelled "It's your quirk, not his!" and Shoto finally used his flames, I couldn't stop crying. His journey towards self-acceptance gives me hope that I too can overcome my past. I really love MHA for its undying optimism and how firmly it believes that things can change.
I don't know why, but the "ITS YOUR QUIRK!" line gave me shivers
This is a great video and very inspirational too. And what I love about it is the symbolism of the fight itself and the deeper understanding than just going with the whole "main character has to actually win the fight" shtick that a lot of shounens fall under. There was actual tension and even though Deku lost the fight, the true victory in his eyes was pushing Todoroki to be at his best with his own efforts in how he uses his quirk.
God Damn, who inspires the heros?
that's such an amazing thing to say
I watch it subbed because the voice acting is better, but this video makes it seem like the dub has better writing.... now I almost wanna watch it dubbed.... omg thats genius, I watch both!!!! twice the Boku no hero
Malte Storm I prefer dub because I listen and glance over while I'm on the PC. I have zero issues with the either version.
Malte Storm yeah, wtf is with all these epic looking scenes and moments that haven't been in the sub. Kinda makes me feel cheesed.
i feel EXACTLY the same.
In the dub they do change some sentences around to better explain things, and perhaps get things across in simpler terms, but at the same time in doing so they ended up undercutting certain, more subtle, character moments.
Malte Storm the dub in this is actually very well done. I prefer Almights English voice.
When I was still a child, my mother went insane because my father abused her and she let all her anger out on me and my brother. Her verbal abuse was worse than the physical one. Whenever we made a mistake, she always told us that we are exactly like our terrible father and that she doesn't want to be a mother of such children. My whole life, I felt the need to prove that I am not like my father and that's why I was never able to show my complete personality. I didn't want to show it, because it felt like a virus possessing over my body, I thought of some of my traits as dirty and awful. I am really grateful that Deku tried to knock some sense into Todoroki. Like Todoroki, I don't blame my mother for anything, not even my father, but I'm really glad that Deku showed him that his identity belongs to himself and only himself and that your past and your blood connections don't say anything about who you are as a person. One of the most impressive moments in Bnha for me.
7:26 Something in me soars whenever I hear that song and Deku's speech. Great video.
It's the best 2017 fight so far, easily.
Unleash Your Skill if naruto vs sasuke was in 2017 then OK
It's not the best Naruto Shippuden fight ... X)
no even close any fight on aot is so much better then this over-hyped excuse of a fight
Excuse me? I like Attack On Titan as much as the next guy, but BOTH fights were amazing. Eren VS Reiner was good because it showed Eren's rage at finding out another one of his friends was a bad guy, and using the traitor's friend's techniques (Annie) to take him down. It was slow-paced, but epic nonetheless.
However, Midoriya VS Todoroki was much better. It showed that being a hero is not all about winning; as Deku tried to convince Todoroki that in order to reach his full potential, he has to use all he's got. Heck, he even crippled himself to get that message across! Meanwhile, Todoroki was struggling with his lineage, and how using one half of his Quirk shows that he's giving into what his father has wanted him to become. However, with Deku's words he overcame it, and WON. That's why Midoriya and Todoroki are my favorite characters; they're backstories couldn't be more polar-opposite, but their true end goal is all the same. They both want to be a hero, and they both go through their own struggles to reach that goal. However, they still find a way to help each other out in the end, as well as others, as you will see in the second half of Season 2 of My Hero Academia.
And honestly, that's why I think BnHA is better than AoT. AoT, while it definitely has existential character moments, is more plot-driven than anything. Which isn't a bad thing, because seeing Eren use the Coordinate was cool, but the entire Season Finale was about the Coordinate. What was the end of the first half of Season 2 of Hero Aca? Todoroki VS Bakugou, again, two characters with different backstories going head-to-head. It's not plot-driven, it's character driven, which is a lot better than pure plot.
If you can mix the two together than you create the real masterpiece; FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Yes, I am ranting now. So what? You're the one who decided to get all antagonistic on a video praising an anime. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Don't ruin it for anyone else, dude.
Unleash Your Skill just wait goku vs jiren fight to come
Man, if 80% of people don't relate to Deku in how he's basically worthless until he starts actually putting everything he is into getting better, they're lying.
Pretty much all people have no talents(quirks), and only through repeated practice and effort can they do anything.
Wait, is that Christopher Sabat doing All Might? That's awesome!
Indeed it is xD
There are two very simple things that made that fight awesome.
1. Deku's line: "Kimi no Chikara ja nai ka?" "It's your power isn't it?" ..which caused all of Shoto's inhibitions to collapse to the force of his desire to become a hero. With his desire, though heavy, needed the right push to fall through.
2. Shoto completely forgetting about his father during that moment rendering his Father's ambitions for him to be his "Perfect Version" null and void. You can't make a "Perfect Version" of yourself from someone who completely denied all thoughts of you.
This is the one main scenes that made me cry. It's amazing and shocking and so deep that sometimes when I'm bored I just think about the episodes and wonder what can happen or how strong the whole class can be. I hope we can see similar but exotic backstories of the other characters. It'd be so amazing to see.
good video man, already loved this episode to watch it 4 times but you still made me appreciate it more. i also thought the episode showed deku's nature, putting his own goals aside to help those in need along the way, and when you said "who inspires the heroes"... yes! was thinking deku helping todoroki get his shit together and not half ass it when it comes to saving people is just so much better in the long run.
also it's awesome how the author used our protagonist as a stepping stone for another in a true hero origin story kinda fashion, deku is uncle ben.
That edit at 6:51 was so clean 👌
fucking gorgeous analysis, bravo
I think it might be worth it for you to compare Deku and Saitama. As you said, Deku's role as a hero is to inspire others heroes to be better. In a similar way, Saitama's role as a hero is to protect the other heroes. A fantastic example of this is when he fights the Deep Sea King. Hundreds of people directly witnessed dozens of heroes fail to defeat the Deep Sea King, only for Saitama, who at the time was publicly known to be a mere C-class hero, to walk up and kill him in a single blow, to which the citizens respond by questioning the credibility of all of the other heroes. If even an S-class failed to beat him, how is it that they can call themselves heroes? Saitama then decides to sacrifice his own reputation by stating that all of the other heroes weakened the Deep Sea King for him and that he just came to steal the last hit. It makes everyone hate him for taking credit for the work of other heroes, and it greatly uplifts the other heroes it the process. And this is a theme that repeats itself multiple times in the manga. Saitama defeats Boros in secret, allowing Tatsumaki to take credit for bringing down the ship and saving the world, even though he was the one who wrecked it when he landed on it after jumping back from the moon.
Thanks for using the dub. It’s really enjoyable.
This is easily the most thoughtful and thought out video about this topic on CZcams and I want to thank you for it, so thank you for giving us such a great video, keep up the good work!
I love how much you can look into this show and what makes it great. there is so many underlying thematics that it is actually one of those few anime I like to watch over and over just to examine it from different perspectives. I read the manga, I watch it once in English and once in Japanese. important scenes get watched a couple times more, and I'm still not sick of it.
6:50
oh that animation cut was so amazing
UUUUUHHHHHH
It was so clean
"Who needs a quirk when you're me" - BATMAN
Wonderful video in a way it reminded of Naruto vs neji during the chuunin exams”The noble born kid who was talented aka neji and todoroki” vs “the nobody who was basically a dark horse in the fight aka Naruto and Deku”
Medua Iwel "dark horse" my ass... nigga naruto had the strongest possible variant of a demon inside him, was the reincarnation of a God, and had better than average physical attributes thanks to genetics... also had two teachers ready and primed to teach him great justu because of who his father was
Medua Iwel The difference is Neji was right
-splash- but he was still a dark horse at that point in the series. The creator of mha said that naruto is his inspiration. So it's obvious that this fight was modeled after naruto vs neji.
Yoboi Boy lol I know "at that point" just stating the obvious... I mean at the end of the day we know deku IS THE GREATEST HERO and achieves his dream but we didn't know if naruto would achieve his dream
-splash- lol come on dude we all knew naruto would be hokage lmfaoo
I love this show! That fight between those two was absolutely awesome! Thank you for taking quality time to make the video.
Awesome job explaining what's really going on in the show man. This vid made me too happy. Thanks!
Best boku no hero video i seen in a long time keep up the good work
Heroic essance so powerful your boy can't contain it. For some reason those words shook me to my core.
Great analysis. I had never really put much thought into the 'lineage' angle before but you did a stellar job bringing it to light. I feel though you missed one important detail, when Deku tells Todoroki (about the flames) 'It's your power isn't it?' Since it provides Todoroki the perspective that only HE has been viewing his heat half as 'belonging to Endeavour' rather than to himself.
I am man of simple tastes. I see an analysis video on Boku no Hero Academia, I DETROIT SMASH that like button. Great video man, you've just earned yourself a subscriber!
this really good and well put together "who inspire the hero's" that was perfectly put yo really good video can't wait to see more
Great video, and it felt really well edited
Really inspiring honestly
I’ve just started watching MHA and I just finished S2 the other day. This episode has been my favorite so far and your video absolutely did a great job of showing why.
The thing I’m loving about MHA is that all of the fights, while being fun shonen schlock, are all deeply rooted in the character’s themes and growth.
Great video with fantastic editing. You and Aleczandxr do this type of video the best.
Rather than Spiderman, the One for All's inheritance gave me serious Avatar vibes. I found it really cool, like how Deku has "past heroes" looking out for him just like Aang had all his previous lives.
Damn! That is some serious fucking editing skill! Match cuts, continuous actions between completely different shows, perfect implementation of dialogue and spot on timing. I would praise your use of the music, but as we all know, You Say Run goes with everything. I knew there was a damn good reason I subscribed to you!
Its a testament to the quality of this series that I consider this fight, one that takes place near the beginning of the series, one of the best fights in the history of anime.
This series is going to be fucking legendary.
Man... all these epic speeches makes me just want Crimson Riot's speech to be animated.

RoboticDevil actually, yeah, that's not a bad analogy
Very well done video young man I enjoyed your veiw point analysis's. Reminds me of me and my bro who break down shows in similar fashion, and if that wasnt enough you ended the vid in not only a fitting manner but in the greatest way in my opinion... heck it's actually they way I've been ending comments or post I've made the last few months and that is "Make It Plus Ultra "😁 ✌🏿👏🏿
*veeeeery* well said dude. I feel like I understand the series so much more now.
Wow I really loved the message of this video, thanks it made my day
I was already really enjoying this series when I got to this fight, but this episode is what made me fall in love with the series and Midoriya as a protagonist. He fights to save everyone, even his fellow classmates at his own expense. He could have won, he figured out Todoroki’s weakness but he also has to do it the right way. He saves Todoroki and fundamentally changes him leading to them becoming friends with a healthy rivalry. Calling on Shoto to help him with Stain shows Izuku’s true power: inspiring people to help him and in a way give him their power in a purifying version of All For One. AFO takes it without consent, Deku inspires it by being an example. So many of Deku’s biggest accomplishments are built on the support of others; the most potent of which being Eri giving him the power to defeat Overhaul. It’s like a feedback loop, Deku inspires them to be better and in turn draws strength from their support. It’s beautiful storytelling.
So soothing m8. Great analysis.
Its epic because of the music by Yuki Hayashi.

Ok I'm touched (I mean I cried)... new subbed here
God I love this anime. God damn, do I love this anime. Going in, you think you're just gonna get another super hero show, but so quickly you realize it's not about being a hero, it's about the traits that define a hero and how having even just one of those traits can make anyone a hero to someone. This show/manga truly does something that I haven't seen many anime do, which is to inspire those to do better. To go beyond, plus ultra style.
Can I thumbs up this video more then once.... please?
This video made me smile thank you i just love this anime

Fantastic video. You've got my subscription :)
This is beautiful. 😭😭
Damn, this is one well edited video!
Pretty much every serious fight in season 2's...
*cough*... TOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUURRRRRRNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAMMMMMEEEENT AAAAAARRRRRRRRCCCC!!!...
were amazing. And while Deku vs. Todoroki was the standout fight, Uraraka vs. Bakugo was my personal favorite. It illustrated, to me, the embodiment of what a battle anime could accomplish. On one hand, you had a relatively weak person with a situational Quirk pitted against one of the most powerful people in the class with a powerful drive, lightning fast wit, reflexes, and instincts and a powerful Quirk that could be used at anytime. But nonetheless, Uraraka persevered the best she could and utilized Bakugo's solid defense against himself. And while she may have still lost, her fight showed us exactly what she's capable of and even more than that, it skimmed the surface of just how clever this show's fight can get.
This show is just perfect.
