I would love to see a playlist of videos using more budget friendly gear. either way the ideas/principles are still applicable.

That’s the point, the physics of the lightning is the same regardless of the equipment used. I will be doing a video demonstrating the same techniques with almost no equipment in the future.
      Thanks for watching.

Very effective tutoring that is rarely encountered online, direct to the point without any confusing twists. Superb! However, I was surprised that the highlights on leaves of the fruit and the floor of the box were left without attenuating them. I seem to think that the effect on the veins would have been more pronounced if the highlights were attenuated. Thanks.

I will bear that in mind, I know everyone says it’s not about the equipment, but it really isn’t. The lighting techniques can be applied universally. The physics of lighting and photography is exactly the same regardless of the equipment used. Thanks for watching.

Wonderful video, I wish I could do something like that so I could paint those gooseberries. Sadly, I don't have the equipment or room in my very small home . Loved watching what can be done though.

In this case small is better...! if you use a very small flash strobe, is will not need to be so far back.

I am really enjoying these videos and have been learning a lot. Would you do a similar video showing the techniques that you would use to take a picture of an item of jewelry, especially one with diamonds and colored stones? I can never seem to get the reflections and color balance right.

For those trying to source the subject of this week's video, I believe the Physalis alkekengi is also called "Chinese Lantern." Chinese gooseberry seems to be related to the kiwi fruit. Regardless, another inspiring lesson in artificial lighting!

I'm sure that you have answered this question before however I'm a recent subscriber and wonder the tripod and the head tripod you use, it seems very easy and fluent the way you put the camera on and the adjustments you make to the tripod, would you share name and model please? Greetings from Mexico!!
