That's actually stupid because Brief respite is a pretty good defensive aura which means in higher lvls you will encounter many ppl running it. Disruptive gameplay mod? DE should look into it
Yeah it's fine with the Augur mods since you can control that within your own loadout, but with Brief Respite being an aura it's either gonna screw you over or screw your teammates over

That's probably why people sleep on protea... brief respite is incredibly common almost auto include on many builds... it basically means she doesn't work unless you are solo or have a pre-made squad of people willing to screw with their builds :/
Even if it isn't a bug, protea doesn't deserve to be neutered this bad... my suggestion is making the shield nades shut off the augor effect while active.

@max784020 that's why people say it's a bug. Nothing your teammates do should be unavoidable (rolling out of limbo rift, moving to kill CC-ed enemies, etc)

Why not do max shields for 2.5s base shieldgate duration that will become 5s with her balls? I've done something similar on rhino where his overguard always gets oneshot but it has 3s invincibility to get back to full shields and get 2.5s invincibility. I was also planning on doing something similar on maybe wisp, qorvex, atlas etc.
Correct me if i´m wrong. Shield gate activate when shields hit 0 and for it to refresh u need max shield again and in your case 555. First ability only give you around 58 shield with "Brief Respite" so for it to refresh shield gate u need to activate it 10 times. When using "Brief Respite" you need "Catalyzing Shields" to lower the max shield to active shield gate faster.
Shields don't have to be max to get gate refreshed. Partial shields = partial shield gate. You need max shield for max shield gate.

I really think that needs to be fixed, it's not like anyone has the ability control other people running such a popular aura in pub, nor do they have the right to try imo. It's a shame, but it is what it is...
I'm pretty sure this interaction was getting me when running Protea- I die instantly while standing on a pile of shields just after picking one up, switch squad then am tanky again.
I've been running Prime Redirection and Adaptation, or I just embrace the .33 second minimum shield gate and play like Saryn. Would be nice to use Protea proper tho.

Quick Question on the sentinel, the weapon won't fire unless the sentinel has an attack precept so the weapon is useless besides the bond mod?

Honestly it's an easy fix imo.
If the remaining duration of the existing shield gate is higher than the duration of the new shield gate, then the new shield gate should not be triggered.

What the hell is the point of saying the the prime laser rifle as the companion weapon is the "best option" for the 50% crit chance for Tenacious Bond? for the status on weapon from Manifold Bond? that's really nonsense, you don't even have an Assault mode in the build, it doesn't matter which sentinel weapon you use as long as you reach 50% crit chance you don't need a riven if you just use the Vulklok or the Vulcax for it.
Its the best one for Diriga only, because it has all 3 ips for Arc Coil.

None, but the mod is also activated by companion abilities such as Diriga's shock attack.

Hey, quick (maybe dumb) questions:
- What's dealing Electricity Damage for Archon Stretch?
- What are the archon shards you have set to? (other than the green, which you showed as being +stacks of corrosive)
Alternatively, if there's a build link or something I missed, that works too!
Archon Stretch actually works with companion abilities so by running Arc Coil on Diriga you're dealing electric ability damage for it to proc.

People trying to maximize survivavility with Protea adding Augur mods and Brief Respite, meanwhile I'm here slapping her with Combat Discipline and Equilibrium to maximize ability spam with her dispensary active.
And I survive longer with my spam build lol
I tried her normal 4 with the augment. It's so annoying how it picks up all the energy just to waste it. I had to helminth it.
That’s why you cast the 4 at max energy lol
It's still costs energy to use and theres none left to restore it, because it wastes it all.

Swap out flow for equillibrium, use blue shards if you want more max energy.

Regarding the minimum shield gate duration, does her shield satellite count towards the minimum shield gating curve (the one that relates shield at time of shield break and minimum shield gate duration)?
In other words, if my shield satellites give me more than 1150 total shields (the amount to recieve the full 2.5s shield gate duration), will it doublethe value obtained after having a shield satellite, or only my modded shields will count for the shield gate duration?
5s of shield gate sounds really good and doable with protea.
Also, does Nourish's buff apply to Blaze Artillery? I know it applies to certain abilities, and is this one of them?
nourish does not buff blaze artiflery (unless you consieder the viral procs on enemy a buff) it is mainly being used for energy multiplier and viral dmg on weapons
Your shield gate maximum depends on your maximum shield value. Overshields do not count towards it.
@@FiveN9ne I'm aware. Protea's shield satellite gives shields which can regenerate into overshields. The shield satellites do increase her maximum shield count, but I'm not sure if this is accounted for when shield gating.
@@yasirabdulhakeem Don't think so. I do not see where it says it increases her maximum shield count. It just restores shields and keeps restoring them with excess spilling into overshields. It doesn't act like modding a redirection.

Don’t you think nourish is a little bit redundant? If u want nourish, maybe subsume it on her dispensary and temporal erosion augment for armor striping turrets and slash Grenades?
tried it, the extra 150 energy every few seconds was too annoying imo

Equilibrium is still better than energy nexus imo despensery augmented health orbs with norish more than enough to keep you good on enegy
You can drop equilibrium and replace it with a purple shard and nexus having both regen and dual pickup.

It makes sense that she doesn't need the augur bonus but the bonus shouldn't kill her skill... Basically it means if you aren't solo you cant use her because brief respite is such a common aura...
Her shield nades should shut off the shield on cast effects to balance this...
Yeah it's not really a bug since the code is working as intended, but it still feels like an oversight. There's not a really simple way to fix this, but it should still be possible.
@ric6611 if her shield grenades shut off the shield on energy spent effects while active it would be perfect and I don't think that would be too hard to code.

Why Archon Stretch? Protea does fire ability damage (turrets), not electric ability damage, so won't it never proc?

I'm not sure why you continue to state "its not a bug" when this makes the shield gating on protea literally not work as intended or stated. This is, and i'm sorry to say this, fucking stupid. Its the literal definition of bug and has been known to be an issue for years.
That showcase was done in such bad faith, that I have no words for it. Starting the test by not having not having the shield drop up. After that when you do and it works, you slow down so that you can be taken down. I'm simply speechless. While augur mod do provide the bad shieldgate, they do allow you to do whatever you like while tanking, and not spamming drones every 2 sec, effectively doing half or less damage. While your build does work. I really question the effectiveness of providing no substantial priming or CC to your squad. Your sentinel is also pretty much doing nothing to enemies outside it coil range. In the part of the stream you showed, it's also apparent how few enemies are around to kill or get shot by. (I'm guessing in practice it's a lot better, but just saying that what was shown is not representative of levelcap void cascade.)
On the other hand, keep up the good work and have fun. I may sound very negative, but that's just for when I find things denounced for little reason.
I personally would put the general shield package of redirection/acord and aegis for constant free time, when fighting at level cap. Extending the shield gate to 2x a lesser amount is not always as good as having the good shield gate by default when caught off guard.
The whole point of it was to show difference in shield gate duration without any augur/BR and without. Slowing down or not was irrelevant, point of simulacrum was to get shot at to show shield gate duration.
@@chotnik And then there was the "Don't ever put those mods on Protea" That kinda feels off and "make sure noone in your party is using BR". I'm sure all the pugs love getting hate speech from Proteas basing their knowledge from this.. In practice there is hardly a difference except you're handicapping yourself into only being able to survive by spamming drones whenever you get hit by anything. If you're ever caught by surprise and don't have enough time, to put a drone down, you'd be dead, whereas you could survive by using the mods.
IF the point was just to show the duration difference, the rest wouldn't have followed in the way it was laid out.
@@vedvedov4494 Hardly any difference? The difference is that for one you need a full kit of shield gating mods while with the other you just need to press 1 to get a 3sec shield gate. By using her Shield Satellites to shield gate Protea can be built using other mods in the build instead of Brief/Cata/Augur -type of thing.
So I don't understand what you mean by handicapping when the shield gate is longer with Shield Satellites than with 'a normal shield gate setup'.
You have to understand that Gaz plays with premade groups, not pugs. So it's not that hard to agree with people to not use BR as their aura. Or if they really want to use it then just don't use this Protea build.. simple as that.
Obviously this kind of interaction with an aura mod and Shield Satellites is quite toxic when it comes to pugs and DE should probably look into that.
@@RobertoCorsini As any decent person would do, I did some testing. Since I never had any issues surviving on endurance with Protea, I never actually bothered to test things in detail. After testing both builds with augur set and BR and with Gaz's build. I found that there is 0 difference in the shield gate, once you start using satelites. Standing still and spamming sattelites, and then standing in the middle of them causes the same rate of deplition. My guess is that the rapid shield gating makes the satelites passive not take effect when under constant fire. If you don't believe me you can test it yourself. I had do despawn my sentinel and take off aegis, because with them I hardly had the opportunity to shieldgate. All in all, I stand by my initial statement. Augur mods +BR and aegis are way better, diriga is better when it actually shoots, and surprisingly you get NO BENEFIT when you don't run them (I didn't expect this, but it's what my tests showed).
I expected that like most shield gaining abilities, the only difference would be getting 2 shield gates (the instant one and the big one right after), the the result turned out unexpected.
I still put augur despite the warning in the last vid, as much as id like to do elite deep or long ass void vascades to farm arcanes, I dont have access to elite deep yet & im still going through little duck & madurai for my amp so steel path thrax are too much of a pain and in everything else like netra & any other non void cascade sp stuff is still stupid easy so i never notice any issues so i just stuck to planning on taking it off once i get more forma into protea

Nourish energy multiplier + energy nexus/archon stretch = enough energy regen to endlessly loop shield nades.
If you find this boring I'll be making another build video for lvl 10k in the future (if for some reason you think roar is less boring)
That's such a wrong question to ask, just go do lvl cap and see for yourself why you always need full armor strip and why nourish is so good for energy sustain and viral damage to stripped enemies. It is so redundant to even ask ugh
