    Since many of you are not happy with the two 0-100 times in the beginning. There is a third 0-100 at 5:06 with a more Aggressive start on a dry road, I did forget to add the time but just checked and it was a 7.2.
    Alfa Romeo claimed a 7.0, i didn't want to make more Launches since it is an Italian car and youtube money is not good enough to risk it. If you want to support me to see more hard Italian launch control starts don't skip the ads it makes a big difference in the amount of money I get.

    I own the car with a 2.4 diesel. It's fantastic, great handling, still looks great (TI version) despite being 13 years old, decently comfy for two people (back seats don't really have a lot of space). It's biggest problem is lack of a powerful, big engine that could promoting the model. The 3.2 petrol with 4 wheel drive sounds good on paper, but is definitely disappointing in performance. The car weights a lot, it's not enough. 1.75 TBI was a good attempt, but still, sounds like turbocharged toy. Wish we had an option of something along AMG version of mercedes, M version of BMW, S version of audi, or stuff like Lexus ISF. Diesels are great, but they are not fun. There is no decent petrol engine available for 159.

      Actually there is the perfect engine for this car and is cheap. This car is heavy because is strong, it chassis support mucho more torque than it's bmw pair, all of this is due to the first design by Giuggiaro, the car was design with the holden v8's in mind and it was initiality fitted with a Maserati v8, in fact a few 159 were seen in Europe with the 4.7 Maserati , it fits on the bay and it makes sense, it was meant to compete with Porsche but, cost effective...it was dropped. Now, you have all those old Quattroporte dissasembled at USa and the engines (ferrari maserati) costs...4000 pounds. I know because I own a 159 and I dreamed with that plan...a lot.

      I love mine too, with the 3.2. I think the power is perfect for a daily driver. It's enough for fun & you can use it all around they year with the 4wd system. A V8 GTA version would have been perfect, of course!

      There are some supercharger kits for the 3.2 jts wich make up to 360 hp. In combination with Q4 this probably a very good balance between performance and drive ability. I have a Brera 2.2 and the chassis feels like it could deal with more than 400 hp easily

      @davidBarrel Před 2 lety +2

      @@michaelsiegel9658 I have a 2.2 159, our chasis handle power because it was designed to acommodate the maserati v8 , a few 159 with the 4.7 version rolled through Europe testing them and after all they drop the project due to costs. I still hoping someone made that conversion, those v8 4.2 from 2008 are very cheap now considering they are indeed ferrari engines. I've never figured out wich gearbox they used, I know they were 4x4 and that the engine was mounted sideways.

      I agree that you should practice faster shifting, but the example from the turbo diesel doesn't apply to a NA petrol engine. rev it all the way to the red line and push it out of gear while pressing the clutch, so that the clutch is released just in time for engaging the next gear. it's not easy with this gear box, but as you say: it's an Italian car 😎

      It's due to carbon build-up. It's a great engine but like most performance engines, it needs special care in order to perform well (frequent oil changes, and on these High Feature units, work on the oil passages). One of these engines, carbon cleaned, with headers and a remap, pushes close to 300 hp.
      The gear ratios aren't well suited to it either, the box having been originally designed for diesel applications (F40 box, same as the 2.4 JTDm).

      Was bei den 2,4l Dieseln oft passiert ist das die Krümmer undicht werden, weil entweder die Bolzen reißen oder der Krümmer reißt. Abhilfe kann geschaffen werden indem man den ersten Kat durch eine Downpipe ersetzt. Desweiteren könnte man noch die Drall/Swirlklappen außer Kraft setzen sowie das AGR, beides ausprogrammieren lassen und bei Bedarf noch das mapping anpassen lassen (gibt dann haltbare 250ps anstatt 200-210) zudem liegt die Leistung früher an und du hast weniger Probleme mit Verkokungen des Ansaugtraktes (durch das stillgelegte AGR) zudem sparste noch ca 1l Diesel auf 100km.
      All das ist nicht legal allerdings fällt es niemandem auf weil man den KAT nicht wirklich sehen kann und sich bei der Abgasuntersuchung die gemessenen Werte nich ändern. Alles in allem hebt der Motor länger und das hast mehr Spaß dran.

    • @markvandening2222
      @markvandening2222 Před 2 měsíci

      First gear goes straight to 7000 RPM. Then shifting to second it takes so long to get to 4500 RPM and get some horsepower. You can get 120 km/h in 2nd gear, and go easily to 160 / 170 in 3rd. But the shifting from 1st to 2nd is horrible. Also why is there no power < 4000 RPM? I can't understand..

      @@stefanobattistino2441 pero il sistema Q4 è un capolavoro, ed anche le sospensioni.
      Purtroppo, a colpa di merge con GM, dovevano usare la piattaforma GM, però hanno metto le sospensioni, metà di motori e il sistema 4 ruote - proprio Alfa Romeo.
      Al altra parte - il handling non è paragonabile a la X3 ( quale handling? ). La N57 di BMW e meglio di 2.4 JTDm ma non è una differenza massima, stock for stock.
      Anche le Merc C e la e90 pesano qualcosa.
      Perché lamentate?
