If y'all ever need to get something rusty in a hurry, grab a jug of Muriatic Acid and hit your metal with a few strokes. Watch for skin splash, of course.
I had a jug in my tool shed over the winter get loose, and oh my god, anything metal-even with a finish--looks very apocalyptic!
add: I suspect a baking soda with white vinegar wash will neutralize the acid, or barring that, a crap load of water.

hey apoc autos I hear that sometimes you can use a pair of panty hose that if put over your airfilter it will bloke the extra fine dust from clogging your filters.

Really hope it happens this year (2020) because it will be our first time attending. Bought my tickets first day (Vanguard for the win!)
So if it's cancelled or worse, postponed to a date where we can't travel (we live in Canada and winter driving is bad at the best of times) I for one will be VERY disappointed.

I live in henderson, just down the street from the fiesta casino you guys were parked at!! It would have been awesome to have met and seen the war child! A buddy and myself plan on building a truck up to be a fun apocalyptic toy to take to wasteland weekend eventually! Keep on keepin on gentlemen!

Every winter, I get out of wet, dreary Washington for a month or two, and go to the Salton Sea in SoCal. THAT is a TRUE wasteland, in the present day. I have relatives there, so it's free. Look up Salton Sea on CZcams for MANY videos, it is like Hell on Earth, and I absolutely love it. In Niland, CA, is Slab City, a HUGE encampment of homeless people, druggies, winos, artists, grizzled old desert rats, hippies, free spirits, and adventurous tourists. Slab City would be PERFECT for Wasteland Weekend, you'd fit right in! And it's federal land, an old military base on the Coachella Canal. There must be 200 acres of land there. And the military does training and maneuvers right next door! I'd sure love to see an event like yours there. I'm there between January and March, when it's not too hot.
Last winter, just rollin thru the desert in my Exploder, I got 5 flats in one month! Inconvenient. I got new LTs on there now, load range E.

I like flat black as much as anyone, but 1)Everyone's doing it, and 2) I think, in a real life wasteland, IF you bothered to paint your vehicle at ALL, you'd have to use whatever you could scrounge, even if it's green house paint. I think for ME, the ideal color for a wasteland car would be desert tan, or desert camo. OR, if ya worry about being LOST and want to be RESCUED, bright yellow or orange! But like I say, you'd take whatever you could scrounge, or not paint at all.
