Trevor is an amazing storyteller. He is funny, wise, honest, empathetic, real in every way. His life experience is his strong suit and has created a deep, caring soul who is the epitome of living an examined life. Thank you for your integrity, Trevor.
Found Trevor’s stalker..
He's able to write his sad story as if it's something funny, but I couldn't help myself and cried many times because I'm a mother and grandma, so I understand and feel his mother's pain and courage. She's too brave and gave us this beautiful gift. Please read the book because it adds meaning to your life.
Thank you. I will look for the book
It's great on audible.
@@airinemanwo481I loved the book so much I gave four copies away. Definitely worth reading 😃
Thank you, I will read it!
It was heartwarming to see the interviewer chuckle so genuinely and with ruddiness throughout the whole interview.

What an awesome man his mother raised. A man with intelligence and compassion and the divine ability to express himself so succinctly and with humor--even through the dark and scary times as a child.
I love It
It's always not just funny but educational to listen to Trevor. You go through a journey with him whether its a regular or serious show😊
I love listening to Trevor tell a story. He's a wonderful, truthful story teller, and is frank about the realities, I love his stories about his mum and grandmother.
P
As a coloured South African I feel that Trevor Noah has a lot of hurts he is not talking about.
He grew up without his Dad because of Apartheid. As he said : born a crime. His family around him was black. At a certain age he became aware of the fact that he was different. But at no time could he ever have been considered to be white. Because Trevor was well educated his Swiss father most probably paid for that. He certainly did not grow up in poverty in spite of living in Soweto.
@roslyngraf1737:
Tevor Noah himself stated the he grew up poor, so don't jump to conclusions, only because his father is a white European.
@@zoep.2891 Trevor just like my sons whose father is Swiss & my three cousins too: should not have grown up poor. All have turned out very well inspite of that. No thanks to the Fathers, but the South African Mums. There is no bitterness, but it was not right. It was much more difficult for Trevor because his Mother was Black. My Aunt & I : coloured. Being a coloured in Switzerland can also be just as difficult as it was in Durban.
Trevor Noah has changed my life! I am an 81-year-old female who is also a Pisces and find myself seeing myself through Trevor Noah's amazing story of his life! Gina Dodds USA
What a great interviewer. You can tell he really liked the book.
Exactly. Great connection
WOW! a hour long interview with Trevor Noah, where the interviewer allowed the guest to talk with out cutting his responses off. Best interview ever!!
Great fun & insight
He should win an award for best explanation of Racism and Colorism ever explained in life.
Totally agree.
@@leefunglan3710 Totally.

TOTALLY AGREED!!
Trevor is REAL.
The world needs more like him.
How wonderful to have a mom like that, my mom was a professor and she didn’t teach me anything, in fact she treated me like I was inferior and undeserving, didn’t even buy me clothes or combed my hair before school. Didn’t protect me from abuse from my siblings, I am darker than my siblings and also the youngest. Thank goodness my best friends mom taught me everything In my early years and ironed my uniform and braided my hair with ribbons. The second best influence was my piano teacher who since age five, taught me confidence and accomplishment. My angels. I became a loving and more compassionate person which made me a better parent, after I sorted out the damage I am very happy and amazing grandma!
you sound like a happy child, too young to be a grandma. That is my way of complimenting your own loving, kind spirit.
GREAT MOTHERS get promoted to grandma's!
I hope your mother found a reason to make peace with you and with herself as well, there must be a reason she treated you that way. And you are blessed to be grandmother
i love the fact that Noah Trevor acknowledges privilege and even educates people about it using his life as an example. TRUE HERO.

BCUZ HE SPEAKS STRAIGHT FROM HIS HEART ❤️ 💙 💜 💖 💗
I've always thought TN's accent is very elegant, so precise and clear...
Can we acknowledge that Trevor is the celebrity but his mom is the star?
Abigail Moore 👍
yes
I listen to his stories about his mom and her influence on him and I just think "I am seriously not nearly a good enough person to be the mom my kids deserve!!" I don't think I know how or have the character required to teach my kids to be the kind of human Trevor Noah is! His mom is absolutely my hero!

I agree, Trevor Noah is very smart, very intelligent and very likable, good looking guy. Very humble and that is part of his mother and grandmother raising a very intelligent and humble young man.
I could listen to him all day. He is intelligent humble and most importantly self aware. More power to him!!!
Me too, I love his kind, witty and intelligent character so much!
I have so much respect for you Trevor, I am white, raised in foster care, so i never understood racism and/or never understood until i was in my teen years that it even existed. Now I am almost 60 yrs old , and am struggling to explain this to my 40 year old son. Sigh. Please don't ever change who you are. You are an exceptional person with a truly exceptional view of our relationships and how they affect us, each and everyone. I will continue to learn from you and enjoy your humor forever. :)
Absolutely Brilliant.
Not just a comedian, but -hands down- one of the best social critics the world has.
Amazing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Trevor Noah is a very enlightened individual. He has grown from each of the circumstances he has overcome and he continues to grow himself daily. Im so proud of Trevor and all of his accomplishments.
it takes such grace to grow and pervail through strife into a more and more lovely person. not often the outcome.
@brad O
Oh! And I see you deleted your reply. Must have became ashamed of your Reply after I replied to your nonsensical reply. Well again.
There are STARK DISTINCTIONS why, how, and for what White Europeans and Americans forced, chained, and shackled Afrcans. Then slung into unimaginable squalor synonymous to sardines in a can. And upon arrival Africans transitioned expeditiously from Africans to culturally "American" AfroAmericans. And it's an inane absurdity not to reference the difference. Crosses the borders of the nonsensical. The forced removal of African slaves to America and experiences thereafter becoming "American" AfroAmericans (Africans are not "American" AfroAmericans. And Africa for centuries has no longer been "American" AfroAmericans homeland. That's fallacious as saying England is United States homeland. The present historic "American" AfroAmerican arrival is exponentially disparate from the arrivals of latter day none compulsory entry of Africans into The United States. In fact, the latter day arrivals of Africans into the United States in noticeable numbers of notice. Is due to the "American" AfroAmericans Black Civil Rights Movement. Hopefully you will now realize the simplicity of your reply.
Not really he's a neo liberal liar.
You should hear the joke he tells about striking miners being murdered by cops
Trevor Noah is about as funny as children with polio. He succeeded in killing the daily show and you people support him! That’s the only funny part.

I really understand and feel what Trevor went through. As a so called coloured, with an abusive father and brother, I survived. I Have two wondeful kids and a job that I love, because I can help the poor and the young. Yet, like Trevor, I do not feel disadvantage. Because of my mother Grace who never alowed me to give up. No labels or $5000 sneakers and he is still the man. Humble, intelligent, loves and respects his mother, worldly and wise. Oh yeah funny too! I have much admiration for this gentleman. I wish him much long lasting success. Go Trevor!
But a 50,000 dollar watch. You’d never know it. Humble but a man of class and distinction
I just love his brutal honesty but fun humor and also his inspirational message on ambition. thumbs up Trevor.

It was such a great pleasure to spend an hour and a half of my life listening to this conversation. Thanks a lot, Trevor. Thanks a lot, The Guardian.
as an African I love Trevor Noah for being who he is out there, I feel that now people in the western world can see that Africans are smart and nuanced in their lives than the world chooses to portray us. Trevor is a good specimen of a big tribe of intelligent good people in Africa.

I watched this interview in several sessions. I honestly believe he is one of the most evolved human being with whom I have come in contact. I feel he is really good person.
The first time I saw him on The Daily Show I thought the same thing, also that he is highly intelligent.
Yes, Trevor Noah is inspirational!
People constantly say he's not as good as Jon Stewart, and of course he's very different, but they forget people hated Jon Stewart for the first few years too.
NeuroGoddess exactly.. bc he wasn't kilborne
He is not Jon Stewart he is Trevor Noah and well I like him better. Why because TN touches my heart and I wish him all the best.He is rare, and as long as he stays true to himself he will go on to great things.
What a lovely conversation. Mr. Noah’s brilliance, perspective, and perception is razor sharp. Thanks to you both.
So much wisdom and intellect. I just recently became aware him by strolling through channels. Never get tired of hearing from him. I have much to catch up with! Never a dull moment!

How would you feel, or think, if a white person said that?
Except that "black" is a colonizer term. "Being black" isn't really a thing. There's nothing wrong with being "African."
It''s so obvious that Trevor Noah was raised well. He's an exceptionally talented, insightful, intelligent man, with a compassion that was forged by his experiences under apartheid, and tempered by the lessons he learned from his parents and grandparents. I've been a big fan of his from Day One, and he's just goten better with time.

If there were more humans like Trevor we would have a completely different planet and existence. He gives me hope for humanity and is truly a gift from above!
Trevor is great but Russel Brand tops him.
When Jon Stewart left the Daily Show I was disappointed. Little did I know his replacement would entertain and inspire me in such a way . Huge fan, much love and respect ! 🍻❤️💯
It's because you assumed, that's a terrible trait we have as human beings.
they have the same human, creative intelligence. Jon was wise
By far...he is the most funniest comedian. However, I just love listening to him having a serious conversation. Such a brilliant guy with so much love and respect. He is unstoppable!!
This was an awesome interview. Trevor Noah is a true gem. Didn’t think I’d watched the entire thing, but I couldn’t stop. Love from 🇯🇲.

When Trevor is telling the story of his grandmother remembering things with events.. my Grandfather who is umXhosa too. Told me how he started working, they were building and servicing railway line between East London and Queenstown (eastern cape South Africa).. he said he was in his teens and on the 3rd day working " ilanga latshona emini" meaning the sun went out during the day, he was telling me how it was scary. So I grow up and i realised that it was an eclipse. With bit of research Apparently that day was 1st October 1940 and he was 18 coz he was born in july 1922. Did would be the word to notice in your statement!!! I have seen people from Britain do the same! Some of it would be expectations of the person from their culture controlling one's behavior or not if their culture is more lax or laid back!
BUT it still depends on the individual, whether or not they're a good listener, and then again it can also depend on time constraints set up in advance, and/or whether or not the interviewer likes or doesn't like or expects or not the answer given either, as well as if they just needed or wanted the short answer!
Regardless no matter who or why it is rude!!
This is an awesome interview! Great questions, great answers! It would have been cool to know whether or not the girl/woman had contacted him after the book was written!!! Lol!!!😀
If you haven't read this book I highly recommend it! I have over 600
E-books and numerous hardbacks! I have also read a large number of paperback novels, usually romance from the time I was 13 to know! My Mum started us out on reading to us when I was 5! They would be various chapter books from which she would read several chapters a night to us at bedtime! The Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew series, Little House books, there is more than the little house on the Prairie if one is a fan of that/those tales which were based on fact, such as Little House in the Big Woods if I recall correctly which is also good!
Anyhoo, this book, Born a Crime, based on true events, is an amazingly well told story of Trevor's life growing up! Purchasing it on Amazon as an e-book saved me money over a nook purchase! I didn't check other avenues, but be sure to do so to get the best price especially if on a tight budget!!!

@Scott Stapp Or maybe it's you that has limited experience with comedy if you're seriously comparing Shane Dawson with Trevor Noah. I am a fan of Shane Dawon's too, but let's get realistic. Shane Dawson does (or did) edgy humor. Trevor Noah does political humor. Also, if you knew anything of Shane Dawson, you would be well aware that he tends to avoid anything political like it's the plague. So, why the hell put him in the same league as Trevor Noah when he wants to avoid politics? Doesn't make sense. If you're going to compare Trevor Noah to other comedians, at least do it with people that do the same type of humor as him like John Stewart, Steven Colbert, Seth Meyers, or Jimmy Kimmel. Shane Dawson is more like Pewdiepie (at least, they used to with both being into edgy humor).
@@TheReviewQueen82 Hmmm. @imax said 'best political satirist.' Or was it another thread you were referring to?

I'd say he has logic and reason on his side most of the time, but not always. He's only human after all.
I am so proud of this guy! He will ALWAYS be a South African. He will never loose his roots (unlike other (1 other) South African(s) who's done the opposite). He talked about "my country" when he talked about South Africa. He really deserves his success. I whish him even MORE success. Gaan groot Trevor!!
Reading this, I know who you are referring to 😂😂😂😂😂
Intelligent, educated, informed, compassionate, honest... and funny. What's not to like ? I wish everyone would listen to him and that young people would emulate him. The world would be much better.
I never get tired of listening to Trevor! He's so relatable that's another gift! ❤

❤️ Trevor
What a mature young man.
Love Trevor. He’s very bright. He has a gift in how he tells his stories entertaining us, making us laugh while at the same time being sobering insightful. He is where he needs to be. He gets it. I love listening to what he has to say. He acknowledges he has been privileged with a life experience that has given him a perspective that deserves and needs to be shared.
Is it not amazing how people who've achieved great heights have a grandparent somewhere in the picture? We shouldn't underestimate their impact.
So true. I give all the glory to my Grandmother.
Absolutely! Many grandparents are incredibly special. ❣️
He is a sacred force against hate and an instrument of love 💗
@selene stewart We should all aspire to be more like him😇
He was blessed to have the mother he had. You can hear the love she has for him.
and he for her
I think Trevor would say that he was blessed to have both of his parents. They both contributed and their relationships and their differences added the broad perspective that created Trevor Noah. He is a rainbow man of the world.
There was a time when trevor had to walk across (on the same street) from his dad coz of apartheid, while walking in society....still cant cant wrap my head around dat bit...
Let dat sink in...😊
Bless u always trevor... ♥️♥️♥️
Trevor is beautiful mentally, spiritually, physically & emotionally. What a human being
Totally ADORE Trevor for his authenticity, brilliance and charm!
