Hi Gabriel, you know that there are other remarkable locations like Cappadocia the Badlands South Dakota and in Canada, In Argentina Valle de la Luna. In California, the Pinnacles National Park and in Makoshika State Park in Montana, Hell's Half-acre in Wyoming in Las Médulas, Spain, and of course Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. The landscapes are similar but what they have in common is the incredible natural rock formations all unique in their own way.

Good , I saw from insta that you are in Sifnos and in Kastro, you followed my advice! I have a summer house in Sifnos and I know well the island. Then you did the beautiful walk from Faros to Chrisopigi, and stopped at the old mines, I forgot to mention. Hope you did the walk all the way to Chrisopigi. Also from Kastro a nice walk along the sea is at Poulati church. Hope you make and post a video from Sifnos!

I think you need to get out of the Mediterranean fast if you want to boost your views. It’s been way too samey recently. More USA. More Asia. Or more lesser know places like that trip you did in Bulgaria.

I wonder, why there is a frequent encountering with the dogs, whenever you visit to this kind of old secluded spot, as I remember more than once before in other places, they bark at a high voice.

When I went to Mazi there were no lights or anything it was pitch black inside. There was a caretaker who would give everyone a flashlight and then show you around inside. The city is huge and the part you saw is maybe 5 or 10 percent of it. There are a couple levels above where you were and also few more levels down. The city is spread out all through the plateau. I used to live in Goreme and went to Mazi many times. Once we were lucky enough to convince the caretaker to show us the parts of the underground city that is usually closed to tourists. We were crawling through dirt and tunnels and would have never made it out without the caretaker and it was amazing. There are also some Hittite tombs in the cliff to the left of the entrance to the underground city. Also, there is 30 meter high Hittite burial mound a few kilometers downriver from Avanos. The "Red" river is the longest river entirely within Turkiye.
So did I just miss the other levels, or they aren't open to the public?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos No, they are not open to the public. Some of it is full of rubble and hasn't been cleared and possibly could be structurally unstable.
Excellent work again.. I am researching the Ellora/Ajanta caves near Mumbai.. hoping to make it there just have to pick the best timing.. maybe January.
January is a good time. I've been to Ajanta, heard that Ellora is even more amazing.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Basically 64 miles apart.. I think only difference mostly is paintings in Ellora caves. They are spectacular. Mumbai would be entry to country then a bus out to the caves nearby town. Lighting is slightly bad... they have lanterns they give you to help with.. no flashes allowed but videography is allowed. Worried about lighting!
@@jacksondrake-lost There's one temple in particular at Ellora carved out of rock that looks spectacular, a little different from the caves at Ajanta. Either one is definitely worth a visit and it would be cool to see both for comparison.
very interesting video. A suggestion: instead of guessing what some formations are, why not hire a local for accurate information? You are also supporting local people. A win win for all of us.

What was the primary source of light for underground cities??
I was wondering the same thing, my guess would be candles, they must have died young from lack of fresh air. Also what happened if there was heavy rains to prevent flooding?

Gabriels interest lies mainly in Europe especially Eastern Europe and India. South America, Africa and Australia, and a good part of Asia he has barely touched probably because of security and budget issues. Then again there are many other channels that cover these places. Considering he has been at it for 13 years with over 2000 videos to his credit, his viewer base of 560k is quite low. People tend to gravitate to channels with more excitement and humor,
