Video tribute for Vanishing Point. I had to re-arrange the scenes to fit in with the music. Super Soul's big speech about the Last American Hero is a third of the way through the movie, but is at the end of the song, so it was impossible to follow a linear timeline. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Rest In Peace - Barry Newman, who passed away on 11-May-2023 at the age of 92. This was a fantastic movie co-starring my favorite car of all-time!
Cheers mate . That will remain a classic of all time ..
RIP brother, thankyou for one of the best films i have ever watched❤a timeless cult classic
Love this movie. Next to Bullitt, my fave.
52 years later this movie is still talked about as probably the greatest car chase movie of all time. I'm 66 now. RIP Barry Newman 😪
R.I.P. Barry "Kowalski" Newman
the greatest car movie ever made!
Specel moment in time and real deep message in its heart about life and saying fuck it I'm done
Also in my personal opinion the best western ever made.
Every kid wanted to be Kowalski. Then the original Gone in 60 Seconds came out.
Why a contract wasn't put out on the lame asses who totally ruined that movie in the fucking 90s is a mystery to me.
But at least we see Cage is broke and his career fucked. And that cunt Jolie is just as forgotten. If only they'd bury that remake for eternity.
I’ve always wanted one, better than any other!!!$$
@@spunbearing65 it's difficult replicate an era that was gone, for that, remakes not replicate well the original movie, I not like remakes but depends how was direct, for exemple, Gone in 60 Seconds it was not bad, but again not replicate the original.
We need more men who stand for the right things in life. Be cool my friend.
I went on a soul-searching trip by myself this fall. I drove all through the desert southwest. On a lonely highway in Arizona a white Challenger appeared behind me. He followed me for several miles. I got a really good photo of my rearview mirror with the Challenger there. Then it disappeared without a trace. I never saw him pull off. It was just gone like a ghost. It really put a smile on my face. I'll always have that photo that I named Kowalski.
I was on the way to SF in 2018 on I40 or maybe 15 and a newer Challenger suddenly appeared behind me as I was passing slower traffic in my BRZ, waited for me to go by, not riding up my ass but patiently followed, and as soon as I was over put the pedal down and was out of sight in a few seconds. I immediately thought of Kowalski, and wished for them a safe journey. A highlight to my heavenly run from Tucson.
Arizona and rural southern California are among the best motorsport playgrounds on earth, and I just love that there is plenty of room to be gentlemanly about it.
Next time you head that way, be sure to get on the 50 in northeast Nevada. Dubbed the "Loneliest Road in America" and you'll go right through Austin, NV where the scene at 3:43 was shot. The church and most of the buildings are still there. They are well aware of their cult status too. The only gas station in town has a white Challenger painted on their pump and on the burger cart that is parked there.
Im jelious,
It was Chris Cornell
I'm thinking if I lived in that area owning a white challenger would be of paramount importance..... Thank's for sharing....
It was becuase of this movie I bought my Challenger Hellcat Red eye. My respects to this movie. Instant classic!
Wish we have a time machine- thanks to all-Mr BARRY NEWMAN and all the cast-still so enjoyable in the year 2022- greetings from England
I'm a huge "Vanishing Point " fan and this is the best tribute video I've ever seen!!!
Thanks. I've even see a couple of plagiarized versions of this video.
@@warrendubeau851 You did a great job. Very impressive.
@@oneobserver2260 Here's a side-by-side with a plagiarist. He cut out Super Soul and Vera, which to me is pretty odd, since they have so much to do with driving the story.
czcams.com/video/2uFEIKqzI9Y/video.html
@@warrendubeau851 I tried to watch the plagiarized version. It said that the video was unavailable. It doesn't matter. Your version holds true to the movie. The authentic version will always rise to the top.
@@oneobserver2260 I pulled it after he pulled his video. If he had given me credit for the original, it would have been fine. But he didn't . He was adamant that I run Car Chase Wonderland and after repeatedly telling him I don't, he went right off the rails and called me a thief and a liar, and he was somehow the aggrieved party. Then his multiple personalities began messaging me on Facebook. I'm not sure if he was going to beat me up at recess or wait for me at the bike racks after school.
Still one of the best car movies!!! Barry Newman was born for this!
Petrocelli.
Movie takes you back to a simpler time where it seemed we all got along better and the damn internet didn’t make everyone smarter and more stupid at the same time
Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. But I remember it being pretty nasty back then.
@@dsnitris2007 Pity, Id personally sell my soul to go back and live it all over again only without my stupid mistakes.
Yeah. I've loved this movie before you could find it on VHS. It's not about the car. It's about Kowalski. You did a wonderful tribute.
Thanks!
Even though it was released in 1971. 'Vanishing Point', in addition to being a flat out awesome car movie, was also a microcosm of the social issues and problems of the 60s in America. Civil rights, racial equality, the Vietnam war, a general distrust of the government and anyone who worked for "the man". Seeing this is also going back and revisiting a unique time in Americas history.
The opening theme of the movie, "Where Do You Go From Here?" was the perfect statement on the end of the 60s.
C’est un putain de bon film. (Sorry french)
They were right about "The Man" for sure...💯🎯
Straight up propaganda film of people leaving their jobs and heading west! The town folks have nothing better to do than to watch a stranger die heading west?
Don't forget Colfax in the beginning!
Watched this film early 70s absolutely blew me away still my favourite of all time must have seen it 50 times a unbelievable piece of cinematic history
The moment you realize and decide to go out on your own terms...6:34! R.I.P. to the DJ, Cleavon Little ( Blazing Saddles) 1992. Peace.
I've been to Cisco UT where the bulldozer scene was filmed. The Shell gas station is no more, however someone overturned the concrete pad the gas pumps sat on and painted "Kowlalski Lives!"I've also been to Goldfield NV where Clevon Little's radio station was.
That is so, so wonderful!!! What a treat to get to be in and see the places of these two locations!!
He lost his love 5 yrs before, after that nothing matters...those who's been there know what it's all about...
Yep. That's why he crashed the car I think.
I'm on year two.
Show my kids this real car movie that makes you think about life and 50years later kick ass car . Fast and furious so silly when you see this
Check out the videos on youtube called Nicks Garage from Montreal Canada, he is a fan of this movie and he just finished building an exact replica of this car every nut and bolt and even the Alpine white paint job and the exact engine, his car is beautiful and he's a 100% Die Hard Mopar man, all he does is rebuild Mopar engines, he's one hell of a mechanic and has people come from all over Canada and the U.S. to have him rebuild and dyno their engines, Check him out you'll be glad that you did. He even called his Challenger on his license plate Kowalski. Let me know if you like his videos.

So true
@@crazycanuck2578 yes..i watched him build that challenger from the first video..Nick did a fine job..love to have it..my brother bought a 70 roadrunner .. i tried to get him to get the challenger but..i was 15 years old what did i know..
I agree with you although being a Ford man the only thing i liked was the RS 200 in the first one! Dont forget the likes of smokey and the bandit and even Duel, proper, educational films!
As a Brit this was the freedom in an automobile film that made the mark that all others followed. They do not show it on UK television anymore (Sky excluded) Free as the spirit of the open road should be. The 70s rocked.
There's no more freedom in Britain or even the US. Kowalski was the last free soul.
They showed it last week here in the uk, 2023.
you did a great job on this tribute, what a movie it was.
LOVE this movie seen it 1000 time's could see it 1000 more! ✌️💜
DAMN !!!! I did the same ..... 'cause I am ... *Kowalski - first, last and only !!!!* :o))
I strenuously concur. 👍
Me too.
Classic... it’s kinda sad my man never made it to San Francisco. You see, it’s really all about the journey.
He kinda sorta did. It very much looks like the beach surfing mishap scene was filmed in San Francisco's coastal beach.
That scene is a flashback, remember its about a suicidal Vietnam Veteran who lost everything and is flashing back on his life. Movie was best ever made.
Hence I said kinda sorta did. You can see Kowalski in the movie on the presumably SF beach. But certainly not in the present time of the storyline.
What a hell of an exit tho, he reached his vanish point.
He made it.
trust me.
I remember driving my 1967 GTX plymouth to the drive in theater, and all the hot muscle cars were there , too watch the double feature, Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry and Vanishing Point, those were the days 👍
This movie was freaking excellent when it came out and it’s even better today…..!!!
I love the way they zoomed in on the CHALLENGER R/T logo!
The car movie that made the Dodge Challenger my favourite American car of all time. One of the best 2 car movies along with the "original" Gone in 60 Seconds.
Kurz vor dem tragischen Ende des Films sieht man, wie ausweglos die Situation für Kowalski scheint, insofern ist es nur konsequent, daß er in die Bulldozer rast und dabei umkommt .... RIP Kowalski, and Barry Newman, got bless you every time ... !!!!!! 😢😢😢❤❤❤😊
I first watched this movie at 9 years old in 1976. It was on tv late on a Friday or Saturday night and I watched it with my Dad who’s passed now. I thought it was the coolest thing I ever seen and my dad enjoyed it too. Over the next several years during summer vacations from school I would check the TV guide everyday to see if it was on so I could watch it again and it did play a couple times. Such a great movie. Vanishing Point, Bullit, Christine, 2 lane black top, corvette summer, American graffiti all great movies for car people.
Agreed, I have every movie you mentioned and they've all been watched many times.
I haven’t seen this since I was 11 or 12, I think I need to watch it again.
RIP, Mr Newman !
Best time Ohhh f My Life! God I Loved that Decade!! I was Soo Alive, and All was possible! Take me Back, This Sucks!!
If you think life sucked 8 months ago....
I seen that movie my first time when I was 14 I'm 51 now I still watch it I'm a Mopar fan one of my favorite movies
I was 17 years old when this film came out this was back when movies were a double feature for a small price and we were allowed to see it twice
First time I ever saw nudity in a film
Tony Rigo My mom took me to see it on the big screen ! .....man it left a big impression on me. Unforgettable car, unforgettable determined man just trying to find real meaning ....something concrete in life !....& he found it ! What is it ? ...." To your own self be true" As long as you're not hurting yourself or others do what makes you happy.......period !
Tony Rigo Ha, Ha i know youre probably thinking in response to my last comment Well he did end up hurting himself that's true....But do you remember the look on his face just before the car crash climax !....he was smiling because. he accepted & was content with his final decision.........even though i think it was the wrong move for him or anyone...you have to respect his decision & i guess it was good for him !
Watched it when it came out at the drive-in. I was 16 at the time.
Fell in love with the Challenger's.
Have owned 7 since the movie. Had my 73 Challenger for 19 years.
Challenger list in order:
70 Challenger
70 Challenger
74 Challenger
73 Challenger
72 Challenger
2012 Challenger
2017 Challenger- my current car
As past few days I've became totally addicted to this video
Ya have not really ever driven a four speed until ya drive one with a Mopar Big Block and a pistol grip shifter!
'64 Dodge Polara 500 convertible with a 426 wedge here. I KNOW!
Yep gear shifting is different on this car...
Edit: I love that song too♥️♥️♥️♥️
@WickedTornado We put up with a lotta stuff that wasn't perfect back then but we had a bucket load of fun and you can't exactly describe that to anyone today.
@WickedTornado I longed for a V-8 Gremlin when I could barely afford the 6.
70 road runner pistola grip. I feel fortunate to know how it feels, 383 magnum with a cam headers, which were a bitch to install, shoulda left stock manifolds, air grabber hood vacuum activated. Not a day goes by that i dont think about that car
Great job!!!! Vanishing Point and Two-Lane Blacktop are among the best of existential cinema in my opinion.
Here's one I did for Two Lane Blacktop.

@@dsnitris2007 have you did one for dirty Mary Cray Larry??
@@terrycrotts2522 Nope. But the ending would be kind of similar.
The original Gone in 60 Seconds was killer too. I hope Nick Cage dies of crotch rot for fucking it all up.
The 55 was the same 55 used in American graffiti
I watched it twice in my whole life wash it when I was a small small child and I watched it again and my teenage years this movie is stuck with me all of my life for some reason and I'm a Mopar man still to this day heading to my 60s
One of the best films I ever saw In my life.
I was 14 yrs old when this movie came out.
I mowed an old ladies yard , weeded her flower garden, and raked her leaves. I worked about 5 hrs.
She payed me 50 cents.
I went to see Vanishing Point. Bought my ticket, soda, chocolate covered raisins.
And had change.
One of my favorite movies EVER.
This tribute made me watch the film..... I was missing out! Great tribute and classic film!
Thanks. Check out my Two Lane Blacktop videos. I've also done videos for Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry, The Driver and a few others.
“ ‘till the light of life stops burning ‘till another soul goes free “
I'm your 13th upvote. "till another soul goes free"--life can become a prison--another way to say it. The movie isn't about the car. The car is a vehicle to get Kowalski where he needs to go.
Now if you do this in the new challenger it will break the moment you hit the dirt track
Me and two of me droogs went to the local theater to see it the day it premiered. Sat through it twice.
Kowalski hanging out with super soul in eternity now May they both have peace
First saw this when I was 14. I'm 63 now. Its still the best ever!🏴
Same here bro!
Got me into fast cars, pharmaceutical speed and naked blonde chicks. Lol
Love it man, great job :) I always watch Vanishing Point before a road trip in my own Challenger, to ensure avoidance of the end scene :)
What? Driving a Camaro into a D9?
@@chrishamilton2559 ... Pulled with a cable.

What a great way to go out !
I saw that movie in the theaters in 1971, I still love seeing reruns
I saw this movie when I was a kid I loved those high
Speed cars. Back in those day's.
Directed by Richard C. Sarafian, who also did many Warner Brothers 1960's western T.v. shows as well.
This is without a doubt the best car chase movie.
Bullit is the best . This is second
@@mikew7561 Maybe, but it's close.
@@z512345 ... Bullitt is iconic because of the star of the movie, Mr. Cool.
Vanishing Point is iconic because of the story. Kowalski was anonymous at the outset and the drive carried his story to the audience, letting us learn the singular incidents that finally added up to a very tired man releasing his grip on futility. I'd speculate that many of us would wish to be able to choose the time and method of our exit. Kowalski's was spectacular and depressing in its finality. We had already seen him escape the bulldozers. I expected him to make the same escape toward the end. It brought me to tears then. It's the same now.
Thank you for putting the visual to the music. Thank you so much. It’s just so good
The last beautiful free soul on this planet
Thanks. Not everyone likes the music choice....
Thank's
dsnitris2007, you brought me right back to "the good ol days" I saw this movie at the Starlight Drive-in, my introduction to muscle car's and one of the coolest Mopar's, I'll never forget the pistol grip shifter, I don't remember if it had a Hemi or a 440 six-pack believe this or not in those days muscle cars of all types were practically being given away because of the gas crisis, I bought a '69 Chevelle SS 396 for $1000, it had just been painted with white house paint, didn't run, tore it down, checked the #'s and it was a fully loaded sans air, 396-375hp L-78, muncie m-22 rock crusher, 4.11 Dana, huge disc brakes, Lord I miss that car.
Glad you liked it. I was only a little guy during the muscle car era, but I remember seeing beautiful cars everywhere you looked. Chargers, GTOs, Chevelles, Barracudas, Mustangs, Camaros and Firebirds, Cyclones and Javelins. Hell, even Oldsmobile had a muscle car. But what's around when I was old enough to drive? K-Cars. Most high-school kids had old muscle
cars that were 10-15 years old.
I could watch it over a million times and never get tired. This movie is the one that started cannon ball run
I'm sure it was on their minds, but technically was founded many decades previously by Erwin "Cannon Ball" Baker.
So many people only know of it as the cannonball run. Few know of it as The Cannonball Baker Sea to Shining Sea Memorial Trophy Dash.
Actually I thought The Gumball Rally was the forerunner.
Awesome tribute to one awesome movie! Thank you
The use of breakdown by GNR, which includes an expert of dialogue from the movie, is something I’d hoped to see one day in an homage to this movie. Great work!
Not everyone agrees. Scroll down the comments. But it was a reason I used the song.
The best movie car ever I watched when I was very young teenager, very cool upload

Hard to believe that Vanishing Point is 50 years old this year. 😦
Saw this picture at the movies when it frist came out. One of the greatest car moives ever made
loved that movie. My uncle bought new the 1971 Challenger R/T. My fathere said it had the 440. It was red with black stripes. Awesome car, and awesome motor roar. I can still remember when he first came to our home so my father could test drive it. I was 4! Good memories as he had the car for at least 20 years after that...even though it was parked on the side of hios house with the paint all faded.
I seen this movie when I was a young man now I’m watching it again great movie great driving the whole cast must’ve been professional drivers because they are good please more of this type of videos thanks for uploading this one I’m gonna save this one and any other you may upload thank you very much your fewer Friends.🕶
I loved the show, is was the story for me, but I wish it didn't end that way,, I had tears, reading some of the tributes.. 🙏🙏🙏🦋🦋🦋
Dude this is beautifully done
EXCELLENT TRIBUTE!!! Great editing and song. Transitions and pace are all really good. Thank you so much for posting. Forget the haters.
My dad showed me this moving when I was single digits age growing up. It had a profound impact on me. I grew up riding around in his 400ci big block 74 roadrunner. He has to let it go when I was ~18 which broke my heart. He died a year ago. Now here I am 12 years later and just bought myself a silver Redeye Widebody challenger so I could relive my childhood and this movie every damn day. Thank god and thank you sir
Had to let it go^
His 74 was silver too which is why I went with silver although we both loved the white challenger too
Funny, my first car in high school in 1979 was my 1974 Roadrunner 440 silver with the red stripe. 🐶🐶🐶

The movie represent how was America in the 70's, and it's a landmark in car movies, I love it! 😍
Actually shows how America was in 70, as the movie was filmed during the Summer of 1970 and came out in March 1971. Remember, the 70's included the Bicentennial, Star Wars, and Disco, and Vanishing Point came out many years before all that.
