- Thanks for watching. In this episode we created a new parcel tray, did rust repairs, finished off the right hand guard and rear panel. Stay tuned for more progress.
Music thanks to www.bensound.com
I love 70 to 73 formulas. This is brilliant. Outstanding craftsmanship.
Thanks mate
Nice job
Thanks mate
fantastic work!!
That is an interesting solution to the lack of available trunk drop offs.
Nice work.....admire your commitment.
Thanks! It's just an easy road lol
Very clean work. Nicely done
Looking good!
Thanks!
Where did you get the filler between the rear panel and the quarter?
They have not been fitted yet as we need to hand make them
Did you put the body on a jig or add supports? I need to replace my rear quarter panels and am going to use a rotisserie.
It was on the jig we made with supports tack welded under the frame rails.
Amazing! Where did you learn to do all that?
Hubby's a coach and body builder by trade so years of experience
What is the bracket welded to tail panel around gas filler area? What is its purpose? Mine is missing
Do you mean the trunk latch you can see at 2.14sec into the video?
@@marshallperformanceqld No on the outside must fit behind the bumper it looks@ 3.10 sec.
It's off the original panel. You can see it better in part 2. It's for the bumper bar to rest on. Might also stop bumper hitting filler pipe in a crash.
@@marshallperformanceqld mine was taken off can't find it. Body shop gone bad type of deal not sure if he gave it to me
Are they available. Never seen a reproduction yet
Hi there, I own a Firebird that requires this exact work. Is there a way of getting in touch to inquire? Thanks, Aidan (Mackay, Qld)
Hey Aidan, We're not a shop, this is just our project car at home. What did you want to know? Cheers
@@marshallperformanceqld Oh sorry, didn't realise. It's just that my car needs the exact same repairs. It is a 1974 model, so has the small rear window, but would like it converted to the '70 to '73 back end. Love the quality of the work performed on your car. Also, may I ask would you still have the original nose (@1:40 in video #1), doors and engine? My car needs a lot of help lol. Ta, Aidan
Hey Aidan, We got rid of the engine and box years ago. The doors have been reskinned and the nose cone is rusted out so we are keeping it for a shed ornament so sorry we can't help with anything :\
I want to convert a 74 rear end (small window ) to a 70/73 as well !!
3:01 where did you find these?!?!?!?!
Hi there, Most of our replacement panels came from here: www.qmacs.com.au/ All sourced from the USA. Hope that helps.
@@marshallperformanceqld can you ask your husband what that body part was called when he ordered it? ive been looking for months!!
I just had another look and those sections can't be purchased. These pieces are from between the original panels that we had to cut out, fix and repair to reuse.
