  • Featuring a drive through the new M8 Motorway tunnel in both directions from Gardeners Road, Mascot to King Georges Road, Beverly Hills.
The tunnel is surprisingly long. It's almost unbelievable that you're underground for so long.
Bonus for me - I saved $14 because they didn't activate the tag readers! In your face Transurban!

just driven through it in the last 30 minutes. Pretty smooth almost felt like it was too quick for 9km. Cool LED lighting, can't wait to see the NorthConnex lighting installations.

Great video! So excited that this is finally open. Wish the speed limit was at least 90 in these tunnels though

Damn, you already posted a video of this new asset of infrastructure? Impressive! The new tunnels look fantastic. I'd love to get out there right now from California to check them out, but I obviously can't go with COVID-19. Great video, and I loved the soundtrack too!

Why didn't you upload any videos?

@@MediaUniverse-om6zk As in, why I haven't completed any videos over the past year? Just been really busy with life in general. I'll eventually get back off the ground to releasing more footage.

That was awesome! It almost felt like a video game with no cars on the road and that music. Very impressive. They should run the fans to get the concrete dust out of there.

Back in about 1960 the RTA did state the Captain cook Bridge was the link to the F6 and Sydney CBD , it was planned before the Bridge was built, we still have no link up Sutherland to CBD etc. many years have passed and many dollars in fuel excise, tolls, taxes, registration fees etc.. and no funding! very odd.

Between the St. Peter’s exit and the future M6, there is enough room for 5 lanes to be added in the future!

When northconnex opens, it will become Australia’s longest road tunnel!

since there is only at this point merging at start and end then a limit of 90km could be imposed although the 80 for tunnels is probably in regulation somewhere as the maximum for tunnels

It does not take long for all the oil drips from cars to start to appear in the centre of all the lanes, it's becoming quite black down the middle now (NOV 2023)

It will be handy when the M6 opens. No traffic lights between Sydney and Kiama

Your video confirmed that I was right to leave Sydney 2 years ago and head for Perth. Plenty of major highway infrastructure works taking place in WA but still no Toll roads anywhere. I have no idea how the people of Sydney afford multiple toll roads travelling to and from work 5 days a week.

Imagine if you had to pay the full cost of construction and operation. It would cost $21 each way.

Should be enough width to squeeze 5 slightly narrower lanes in. They'd need to move the signs around, but it can be done.
